Marcus's POV

This is so unlike Tara. Anything other than being happy is really unlike her. I'm not exactly sure what to do so I just ask her a question to get rid of the silence.

"Are you okay?" I ask, and she shakes her head

I look down at her, and notice the big scrape on her right leg. I touch it, and she flinches.

"Who did this?" I ask

She looks down, and whispers something so quiet even I can't hear it.

"Tara? A little louder please?"

"Sarah" she whispers a little louder this time.

"Your sister did this?" I ask shocked

She nods, and then starts full on crying again. I wrap my arms around her, and she cries into my shoulder.

We sit there for a few minutes, and she calms down a bit.

"Tara, I'm gonna take you home with me, so we can get you fixed up"

She nods "Okay"

She tries to stand up. She stumbles, and I catch her. Being careful of her leg I gently pick her up in my arms, and start walking home.

Chase's POV

I know that Dylan knows Marcus isn't evil anymore, but there's still some part of him that keeps denying it.

"Where's Marcus? He's been gone for an hour" Douglas says pacing the room

"I'm sure he'll be home soon. He probably just needs to clear his head" Tasha says

"Well, he can stay away from me whenever he decides to come back" Dylan says

"Dylan he cares alot about you, and you need to give him a chance" Bree says

"You keep saying that, but in the video-"

"That was a year ago" Leo says "He's changed since then. Even I forgave him, and he tried to kill me at least three times"

"See!? Evil!" Dylan yells

"But then after he died we left him there for a while. Then when we needed him for something really important we fixed him up, and he met you. I think you are the one who changed him for the better" Bree says

"I did that?" Dylan asks

"Yes. Before he met you he barely said a word to anyone, he stayed in his room, and we all still hated him...Well except for Big D, Douglas, and my mom" Leo says

"What changed?" Dylan asks

"We just told you. He met you" Leo says

"I don't think I could ever do that. I'm not good enough to do something like that" Dylan says

"But you did. Just by being yourself" Adam tells him

"How?" Dylan asks

"One day when he was sitting in his room he heard you in your room crying about-...Something, and he comforted you, and you guys-" Bree looks at all of us telling her to stop, because she could mess with the memories Dylan actually has. She continues anyway " You guys became really close"

"That's sweet and all, but I remember that, and it was Chase who found me. Not Marcus" Dylan says

"His memories must have gotten scrambled" Leo says

"Well since Bree already said it" Mr. Davenport ways walking over to them followed by his wife and brother "Yes. It was Marcus"

"But he's been so distant" Dylan says

"That's because he's just upset that you don't remember him" Tasha says

Dylan shuts his eyes really tight, and focuses on his breathing.

"Dylan?" I say

"You guys are wrong! Marcus is an evil robot who doesn't care about me, who was never close to me, and who never changed!" By now there are tears in his eyes, and he's shaking a bit.

I pull him into a hug, and he cries into my shoulder.

"Shhhh. Calm down, Dylan. Shhhh" I say, and he calms down after a few moments of me talking to him

The door opens, and I look over to see Marcus walk in carrying Tara...Wait, what?

"Marcus, what's going on?" Mr. Davenport asks

"I'll explain later, but for right now we need to get her leg fixed up" he says, and shows us the huge scrape on her leg

"Bring her down to the lab" Douglas says, and Marcus does as told

Tasha goes with them, and Bree super speeds Adam and Leo down through the tunnel.

Dylan's face lights up, and he starts smiling.

"Dylan? You okay?" I ask

"I remember" he says

"What?" I ask smiling

"Tara! I remember her!" he says, and drags me to the elevator

Marcus's POV

We get down to the lab, and I set Tara down on the cyber desk.

Dad starts tending to her scrape, and she sits there still not letting go of me.

"Okay, Marcus" Mr. Davenport says "What exactly happened?"

I sigh "I was walking around thinking when I heard someone crying. I saw it was Tara, and I saw her leg, so I brought her here" I say

"Who did it?" he asks

"Ummm" she starts to tell them, but Chase and Dylan run into the lab.

"Tara!" Dylan yells running over to her, and Tara lets go of me to look at him.

He runs over to her, jumps up on the cyber desk. He wraps his arms around her, and she hugs him back.

When they pull apart Dylan is smiling, and Tara is curiously looking at him.

"I remember you" he says, and Tara smiles really big. They hug again.

"You do?" I ask hopefully. If he remembered her, maybe he remembers me too.

"Yeah, but..." he looks down "That's all I remember"

"That's okay, Dylan. But now that your memory is starting to return it should be completely back before you know it" Mr. Davenport says

"I really hope so" he says smiling

"Tara, you never answered me" Mr. Davenport says "Who did this?"

Tara looks up at me telling me she wants me to tell him.

"It was Sarah" I say, and they all look shocked

"Your sister did this to you?" Dylan asks, and she nods

"We'll deal with that later, but we need to know how badly you're injured" Dad says "Can you stand up on your own?"

"Maybe" she says. I help her off the cyber desk, and let go. She immediately falls, but I catch her.

"That's a no then" I say, helping her back on the table where she was sitting

"What do we do now?" Chase asks

"Well first we take care of this scrape" Dad says "What did she use? A knife?"

"Yes" Tara says softly

"Tara, why don't you stay here tonight?" I say after Dad finishes up with her

"I can't. If I'm late getting home Sarah will get mad at me, and do something even worse" she says

"You want to go home?" Mr. Davenport asks

"Yes, but..." she looks up t me "C-Can you walk me home?"

"Of course. Come here" I say, and pick her up again. She puts her arms around my neck, and lays her head on my shoulder.

"Will you two be okay walking there?" Tasha asks

"We'll be fine. I'll carry her home, and then I'll super speed back" I say

"Okay. Try to stay away from your sister when you get home"

"Got it" I say, and we walk out of the lab

Tara's POV

My leg still really hurts, but at least I don't have to walk home. Marcus is the first one who's ever treated me like a real person when I was hurt...Well other than my parents.

The Davenports are more my family then my real family. Not that I have much of a family, but I definitely like spending time at the Davenport's house better than spending time at my own house.

"So, what do we tell my sister when we get to my house?" I ask

"I'll figure out something" he says "You sure you want to go back?"

I nod my head "Yeah. Hopefully she'll go easy on me"

Marcus walks up the stairs, and rings the doorbell.

Sarah opens the door, and Marcus smiles.

"Hi, uh, Tara said that she was walking in the park when a dog attacked her. I found her in the park, and I took her back to my house. My dad fixed her up, but she still can't stand up by herself. Is it okay if I take her up to her room?" Marcus asks

I glad he thought of something other than 'you attacked your sister, so I fixed her up, and now I'm giving her back to the person who tried to kill her'. That would not have gone over well.

"Uh, yeah. Sure. It's right upstairs, and she can tell you which door" Sarah says, and lets Marcus in

"Thanks" Marcus says, and walks up the stairs

"That door right there" I say pointing to the door at the end of the hallway

He walks inside, and places me on my bed.

"I'll step out for a minute so you can get changed. Looks like there's already some pjs there for you. I want you to go to bed before i leave, so that I can tell Sarah to leave you alone while you sleep"

"Okay, thanks" I say smiling

He smiles, and walks out. I get changed, and call for Marcus to come back in.

"Hey" he says, and site down beside me "I know I keep asking, but are you sure you'll be alright staying here?"

"I'm sure. I'll see you tomorrow at school anyways" I say

"Alright. Do you want us to pick you up on the way there?"

"If you want, but I usually get there early to avoid Sarah"

"Doesn't she go to school?" Marcus asks

"She goes to a private school. I used to, but I decided to change schools when we moved here last year"

"Okay, well Chase makes us leave early so that he can force Adam and Leo to finish their homework"

"Okay, what time do you usually leave? I usually leave the house around seven thirty"

"We leave around the same time"

"Okay then. I guess I'll see you tomorrow then" I say

"Okay. Now lie down" he says, and I do. He puts my comforter over me, and moves a piece of hair from my face.

"Goodnight, Tara" he says, and kisses my forehead

"Goodnight, Marcus. And thank you"

"No problem" he says smiling "I'll see you tomorrow" he walks over, and turns off the light before closing the door.

Marcus's POV

I walk downstairs to find Sarah waiting for me with a phone in her hands.

"Your dad's on the phone, and was wondering where you were" she says. He probably just called so it would seem more realistic...I guess. She doesn't know I have super speed, and it would be weird for me to be here without my dad wondering where I am if I was normal.

"Okay. I'm on my way out now" I say, and she repeats my message to my dad

"Marcus, wait!" she says

"Yeah?"

"Is Tara okay?" she asks

"She's fine, but she fell asleep. So it would be best if you just left her alone for the night"

"Thank you so much for helping her. I don't know what would've happened if you weren't there. I was so worried" Lies, lies, and more lies I think

"It was no problem. She's like a little sister to me"

"Well I won't keep you here. Thanks again" she says

I smile, and walk out the door. Once I'm out of sight I super speed home.

Knock. Knock.

"Marcus?"

"Uh, yeah?" I answer, and my dad walks in

"How're you feeling?" he asks

"Fine I guess"

"You sure?" he asks

"Why wouldn't I be?" I ask

"You've been locked up in this room since you woke up. I was just making sure nothing was wrong"

"I chose to stay in here, and it's not like anyone cares anyway" I say, and lay back on the bed

"I care, and Donnie and Tasha do too"

"Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo?"

"Uh..."

"That's what I thought" I say closing my eyes, and just wishing I could die again. Most people can't say "die again", but thanks to the people I'm forced to live with I can.

"Well, you're forgetting about the newest addition to the family, Dylan" he says

"And what stories have they told him?"

"Alot" he answers

"Does he know who I am?"

"Yes" I sigh "But he doesn't know you personally. he just knows what they told him. he doesn't know the real you"

"Like he would even be interested in knowing the real me when he lives with a bunch of super heroes"

"You know, you two have alot in common" Dad says

"Like?" I ask

"Well for starters you've both locked yourselves in your rooms, because you feel like you don't belong downstairs"

"So what?"

"I'm guessing I'm not gonna be able to get you to come downstairs for dinner?"

"You're guessing right" I say.

He sighs "You know I'll always be here for you, right?"

"I know" I say

He sits there for a minute longer before walking out of the room.

I sit up, and look around my new room. I'm guessing Dad decorated it, because it looks like my old room back at my old house...That's now destroyed.

I cry out in pain as my super hearing starts to glitch. Ever since I woke up I've been glitching like crazy.

When I was an android I never glitched. I always thought it would be nice to be human, but since I didn't glitch it wasn't so bad.

It sounds like someone is...crying?

Curious, I walk out of my room, and down the hall to where the sound in coming from.

I cautiously open the door to find the room completely empty. Even though it's empty I can still hear crying coming from in here.

Using my super senses I figure out that the crying is coming from the closet. I slowly walk over, and open the door to find a small boy sitting there.

He has short blonde hair, and when he looks up at me I can see his brown eyes.

"Wh-Wh-Who are y-you?" he asks

I sit inside the closet next to him "My name's Marcus...Are you Dylan?" I ask, and he nods

"Th-They told m-m-me about y-y-you" he says

"Well I'm alot different than I was a year ago"

He sits there crying for a few minutes. He's obviously not gonna say anything, so I decide to break the silence.

"How old are you?"

"Why are you h-h-here"

"Why are you sitting in the closet crying?" I ask

"Because of K-K-K..."

"Who?" I ask

"Krane" he whispers

"Krane? You know him?"

"H-He's my adoptive d-d-dad"

"He used to be my babysitter...So, you're his adopted son. You were an orphan?" I ask, and he nods his head again

"Y-You never ans-swered my quest-tion"

"You never answered my question"

"I'm th-thirt-t-teen. Now it's y-your turn"

"I heard crying from my room, and came to check it out"

"W-Was I th-that l-l-loud?"

"No, but I have super hearing...You do know about..."

"Bionics?" he says, and I nod "Yeah. I had them too" he says looking at the ground sniffling

"Had?"

"Krane used me as his soldier" he sniffles again "He only adopted me to lead his bionic army, and when I wouldn't do what he wanted me to do he would beat me. He did that for six years before..."

"Before what?"

"Before he used his Triton App on me, and made me attack them"

"Them meaning the Davenport's?"

"Yeah. They knocked me out, and took out my chip. I told them about Krane, and that I didn't want to be his soldier, and they said I could stay here. Douglas made it look like I had died so that Krane wouldn't come looking for me"

"He is pretty good at faking deaths" I say

"H-How would you kn-know?"

"He's my dad" I answer

"I wish I had a dad like that instead of K...K...K..." He doesn't even finish saying Krane's name because he starts tearing up again.

Without thinking I pull him into a hug, and he cries into my chest.

"Shhh. It's okay. Krane's not here. You're safe"

I don't know what's gotten into me, but for some reason I feel bad for him. He's only thirteen, and Krane was abusing him for six years.

At least Dad wasn't all bad. Sure he would hit me sometimes, but he was also a pretty good father. We would have pizza nights, movies with popcorn, and sometimes he would let me help him build a new invention.

I've never had a younger sibling, so I've never known what it felt like to want to protect someone before.

Looking down at the thirteen year old sobbing into my chest, I know this is what it's like. What it's like to be the older sibling. What it's like to have a younger sibling you want to protect.

"M-Marcus?"

"Yeah?"

"Y-You're not gonna h-h-hurt me, r-right?"

"Never"

He looks up at me "Promise?"

I look down into those brown eyes, and say the one word that got him to trust me "Promise"

That flashback was alot easier than I thought it would be to write, and it was even kinda fun. I love writing Marcus as a big brother! As you've probably guessed from this story.

Anyways I've been trying to get back into this story, and I'll hopefullt be updating soon.
