Chapter Six

Brian attacks

Bunnymund threw the green towel had had been using on the floor and opened the door of the bathroom. He had just taken a shower and was therefore feeling very refreshed if not a little hungry. It had been a good six hours since he had had dinner so he was feeling rather hungry.

"Oi Brian," he shouted, "want some tea?"

No answer.

Bunny walked to Brain's room and popped his head round the door.

"Brian would you..." he began but stopped once he saw that the younger pooka wasn't there.

With a huff Bunnymund walked downstairs and yelled at the top of his voice, "Brain. Mate, where are you?"

Still no answer.

Bunny was just going to look outside when he notice something on one of the walls in his dining-room. Going over he saw that it was a burnt in image of Sydney harbour. Next to it were the words, Meat me...Brian.

Bunny was a little surprised; he had no idea why Brian had gone off to Sydney or why he had to follow. After a quick moment of thinking Bunny decided to humour the kid. With a tap of his paw the Guardian of hope opened up a tunnel, hopped in and headed for Sydney.

...

It was dark in Sydney, the Australian sun having set long ago.

Bunny hopped out of his tunnel and walked over to one the harbour's jetties.

"Brian it's me Bunny," the Guardian of hope shouted into the night, "Where are you?"

"Behind you," Brian's voice said, making the other pooka turn.

Brian stood there, paws by his sides and a hard look on his face.

"Brian what's going on?" Bunny asked, "What are you up to?"

"This," Brian replied coldly then shot a fire-ball at the unsuspecting guardian.

Bunnymund jumped back just in time, the fire-ball smashing into the jetty and setting it alight.

"What the hell are you doing?" Bunny yelled in shock.

"Something that should have been done a long time ago," Brian roared and sent another fire-ball at him.

This time Bunny leaped forward and slammed into Brian, slamming him into the ground. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Bunny yelled at him, "I want an answer – now!"

"Let me go" Brian snarled.

"Not a chance".

"Have it your way" the youth replied and kicked Bunnymund in the stomach hard enough to send him flying. Bunny hit the ground with a thud and a grunt. "Did you think this day wouldn't come Bunny?" Brian shouted and launched another flaming missile at him, "Did you really think no one could touch you?!"

"What are you talking about?" Bunny demanded and jumped back in time to avoid being hit by Brian's fire. Brian didn't answer but shot his paw forward, a jet of flame erupting from his palm and towards the Guardian of Hope. The fire slammed into the upper half of Bunny's body, causing him to yell in pain. His cry was cut short as Brian blasted him again, knocking him off the edge of the jetty. Brian, his chest heaving, looked down into the dark water, almost unaware of the flames on the jetty.

"So you got him?" Brian heard from behind. Brian turned to see Pitch, then nodded. "Well done" Pitch said, "Your parents would be proud and so should you be; you've had your revenge"

"I didn't do this for revenge" Brian replied bluntly, "I did it for justice. Now let's get out of here".

As the team moved off, Pitch looked down into the dark water and allowed himself a small smile. "One pooka down, one to go"
