When you say nothing at all...

Chapter 1: prologue

It's been four years since she last seen Brittany. Four long years since they said goodbye at the airport. Brittany was going to Boston and Santana was going back to New York. A lot has happened and a lot has changed during those four years. Santana has changed. Her dreams have changed. Her family has changed. The only thing that hasn't changed, is Santana's love for Brittany. She's still in love with girl after all that time. She still hopes to see those beautiful ocean blue eyes, every time she wakes up. She still hopes that when she comes home at night, Brittany is there waiting for her. And although she gets disappointed every time, she never lets that hope die because she knows that Brittany will join her again one day. When they said good bye at the airport, they promised each other they would be together again. They didn't say when or how, but they both knew that day would come sooner or later. Santana still smiles at what Brittany said "We will be together again San, pinky swear." They shared a last intense hug. They shared a last, sweet kiss. They shared a promise. But Santana still gets disappointed every morning when she wakes up in her new apartment.

And today is no different. She wakes up way before she intended too. It was her day off, and she planned to spent it in bed all day. But off course her noisy roommates thought different. She wakes up at the sound of Kurt and Rachel singing their glee duet from their junior year. That could only mean one thing. Their youngest addition of their little New York family is up too. She loved the little guy with whole her heart and wants to get up and see him, but the singing just annoys her and all she wants to do is curl up in bed with a pillow on her head.

She knows that it won't happen though because any minute now, the three of them will burst through her bedroom door, drag her out of bed and make her sing with them. Santana flops back on the bed, face first and tries to block out the noise but it's useless, they're really loud today. Thirty seconds later, the three of them burst into her room like she predicted. She pretends to be sleeping so they would go away and let her sleep. Suddenly they're quiet and Santana hopes its working but then gets surprised when she feels a weight getting dropped on her back. Tiny hands make their way to Santana's side where the fingers start tickling her. Santana starts laughing immediately and tries to roll around and escape, but she feel a weight sitting on her legs now too. The tickling gets too much and Santana cries from laughing. "No Jay! Sto-o-o-p! Pleaseeee!" The Latina begs for the little boy to stop but he just keeps tickling her until Santana can grabs his little wrists and pulls him up towards her face. Her face pulls up in a grin and one eyebrow quirks up. "Now it's my turn Jay!" The little boy looks terrified and tries to squirm out of Santana's hands, but the Latina holds on tight, pulls him closer and then attacks the boy's belly with her fingers. Now it's the boy's turn to laugh hysterically and pleads for Santana to stop. After a few more tickles, Santana stops and pulls the boy closer to kiss him on his temple.

"Good morning Jay.." Santana coos.

The little boy smiles widely at the Latina and kisses her on the cheek. "Good morning mami…"
