A/N) Here you guys go, another chapter in the same day! Is that awesome or what... but seriously guys, let me know how I'm doing, I'd like some constructive criticism please... and tips if you have 'em.
He was furious. No livid, no much, much worse... what was worse? He didn't know, he didn't care. All he thought about was how to punish her.
The dark king stomped back and forth in his throne room, muttering in cohort curses and vile thoughts under his breath, his eyes and hands glowing an eerie red whenever he couldn't control his thoughts thoroughly.
Finally the deep silence was broken as the Shadow pushed the heavy doors open. His eyes began to glow brighter, as his rage began to bubble out.
The Shadow fell into a bow, kneeling in front of him, not moving, muscles tight as if she knew what he was thinking.
"You failed." The words came hard and grinding, "You brought the wrong chain." He continued in the same even, harsh tone.
Silence, broken only by his heavy footsteps as he walked down the short flight of steps, towards her. The Shadow remained unmoving. Seemingly unafraid. He hated that.
"Well, what do you have to say about it." He waited, one second, two. She didn't move. Rage consumed him as he let out a growl throwing his hand forward and blasting her with dark red energy that send her into the wall.
"ANSWER! WHEN I SPEAK TO YOU, ANSWER!" His eyes seemed to emit the rage he felt as he lifted her out of the hole her body made, with his powers.
Surprisingly, the shadow coughed, still alive...
He brought her closer, suspending her in the air with his red aura, "Now, I have waited too long and planed too much to let this little slip up ruin my plans, understand," His voice was a low menacing growl.
The Shadow gave a barely perceptible nod.
He released her from his power and let her cough on the ground. Quickly she stood up, holding back a painful flinch and walked out of the room, slamming the doors behind her. He growled after her, his failure lackey, she deserved nothing less then death for bringing him the wrong chain, without the right one his plans would fail.
Worse still she had caught the attention of some legendary hero's of some sort, AND let in an intruder. He took a deep breath, no, after all this was over and his plans finished, she would be the first to go, then he could fulfill his destiny with an iron hand.
But first, what to do with that intruder...
"Here it is," Cole slid down the thick pile of dirt as the entered the run down and poorly maintained cemetery.
Jay shuddered, clinging to Zane, "This place gives me the creeps," He whispered hoarsely.
Lloyd grinned, 'What's the matter Jay, afraid of the 'undead', "
"No! I just don't like places where dead people are buried ok. Some people might have been cursed before they died... those are the ones I'm worried about." He finished meekly as gravely headstones with words long forgotten loomed in their vision.
"Boo!"
"AAAAAH!"
"Oh come on Jay, it's just me," Kai burst out laughing as Jay growled at him from the safety behind Zane's back.
"Ha Ha, that's sooo funny guys, really." Jay grumbled as Kia received a high five from Cole, "I wasn't scared, I was just playing around for you."
"Really? Then why does it look like your going to strangle Zane?" Cole needled as Lloyd tried to get Jay off their white clad friend.
"Sorry Zane," The blue eyed ninja smiled sheepishly, "Guess I don't know my own strength."
"That's all right I - " Zane's eyes widened, causing the other ninjas' to look where he was looking... a huge looming stone tomb meet their eyesight.
Jay shivered shamelessly this time, Kai felt his throat constrict as Lloyd instinctively steeped back once.
"Wow... who do you suppose died here?" Cole spoke as he walked over reaching a hand out to wipe away some moss that had grown all over the old structure.
"It doesn't say." Zane peered into the glyphs that seemed to be carved into the side pillar.
"Who cares, let's go, we've got the wrong dead place, maybe Misako went to a burger restaurant instead."
They all turned to look at Jay with deadpan faces.
The blue ninja shrugged, "I tried..."
The ninja ignored him as they pushed the heavy stone door open.
They blinked several times to get used to the dark. It was deep and musty, the smell of more then natural decay in the air.
"Come on." Cole whispered as he took the first step down into the seemingly endless darkness. Zane followed silently.
"I don't like this guys... what if we never come out again?" Jay moaned out, fear making he less then noble at the moment.
"Then, we die doing a good deed, now come on Jay, no more jokes." Kai snapped before following Zane down the dark abyss.
"Who's joking." Jay muttered under his breath.
"Don't worry Jay, if mom is down there we'll find her and bring her back..."
Jay gulped as he watched the green ninja disappear too. He was all alone, the sun was setting, the wind picked up some and made the old claw like trees scrape eerily against old stone pillars and walls. He sucked in his breath and followed his friends like the loyal ninja he was, his stomach churning with dread.
The stone door slammed shut behind him...
