Chapter 7

Jack POV

I'm heading into physical therapy with Kayla. She has been a little icy since she learned that Grace and I were married. I'm not quite sure why she's so upset. She was married herself. Hell she is still married. Once I go into the room Kayla comes in and says, "Hi jack. I have been thinking and maybe it would be best if you chose a different physical therapist. Aaron is great and he has a lot of experience with athletes."

I reply, "Wait a second. We have made great progress. I don't understand why we can't continue."

Kayla answers, "It is too hard to see you all the time, to work so closely with you because of our history."

I say, "It doesn't seem like it's been too difficult for you."

She replies, "It's tearing me up inside. I loved you and all along you loved Grace."

I exclaim, "That isn't fair! I loved you. You walked away from me. I never stopped loving you."

Kayla says, "Yeah after Amy and Ricky's reception you called a few times and then gave up. You went directly into Grace's arms."

I reply, "That isn't how it happened. You rejected me. You didn't want me. You made that very clear."

Kayla exclaims, "Because I knew you were in love with Grace!"

I say, "NO, I was in love with you."

Kayla asks, "Then why did you marry Grace?"

I reply, "I was young and made a mistake. She loved me. I wanted to be loved. You rejected me."

Kayla snaps, "I heard you at the reception tell Grace that you have always loved her."

I sigh shake my head and say, "I told her that we would always be connected and part of me will always love her. That doesn't mean I was in love with her or that I wanted to be with her. I was just stating that we had history. It was just that, history until you rejected me. I was devastated and she helped pick up the pieces. It was a mistake, obviously. So what is your excuse for marrying?"

Kayla replies, "I heard you married Grace and I was hurt and devastated. He helped me pick up the pieces. I felt he was safe and wouldn't hurt me. It wasn't until he wanted to start a family I realized I couldn't do it. That I couldn't make it work. I couldn't force myself to love him."

I look at Kayla, grab her hand and say, "Let's not waste any more time. Just seeing you I feel the same way I did four years ago. We both made mistakes. Let's move forward together. Please give me a chance to prove my love to you."

She walks closer to me looks me in the eyes and says, "My divorce was finalized a few days ago. I guess we could go on a date."

I reply, "I'll take it. It's a start." I lean in and we kiss.

Adrian POV

Ben and I had an amazing weekend. We get home and I am a little relieved. I missed my babies so much. I am still sad that Ben has to leave again tonight but grateful we had a beautiful weekend. We have decided it's time to have another baby when he finishes his book tour. I go into our room and he is packing. I start to cry. Ben comes over and caresses my face and says, "Baby I can quit the tour. I had no idea it was this hard for you. I will find another publisher if I have to. Nothing is worth hurting you."

I reply, "Oh Benny, I love you. You can't quit the tour you have a contract and they will sue us."

He says, "Probably, but I don't care baby."

I say, "It won't be much longer. I'm sorry I am being so weak."

Ben replies, "You are the strongest woman I know. You are anything but weak. I need you and the kids too. So what if they sue us. We'll make it."

I respond, "Benny I want you to finish this. Maybe you could visit more though."

He says, "Baby I'll be home every chance I get. You and the kids are my world. Nothing is more important to me."

I reply, "Oh Ben you still take my breath away. We begin to kiss. Then he picks me up and lays me on the bed still kissing me.

Ricky POV

I decided not to move out yet. I am staying in the guest bedroom. Luckily, it's far from Amy's room. It's late and I am here finishing up at work. My secretary Amanda brings me dinner and says, "I brought us dinner seeing we are going to be having another long night."

I reply, "Thank you. It smells amazing."

She says, "Anything for you Ricky."

I reply, "Thank you Amanda."

I notice her short tight dress as she hops up on my desk. She crosses her legs and giggles. We both start to eat. She begins to tell me, "You are the best boss ever. I look forward to these long nights together. One of these days we should actually go to dinner."

I say, "Maybe one day. I enjoy our time together also."

She starts to giggle and says, "Oh Ricky I'm glad. I wasn't sure how you felt."

Just then Amy walks in with my favorite Chinese food. Amy yells, "Sorry to interrupt. Are you kidding me? Well at least now I know why you were working all these late nights. I can't believe I came here to make peace. To tell you we are having a baby and I find this. Fuck you Ricky." She storms out. I chase after her and shout, "Amy it's not what you think!"

She doesn't stop. She just keeps walking. She doesn't even turn back to look at me. I exclaim, "Amy please listen to me." She just gets in her car and drives away. I go back into the office to get my keys and Amanda says, "Ricky don't worry about her. "

I exclaim, "She's my wife of course I worry about her." I grab my keys and head home.

When I get home my clothes are on the lawn. Amy is still throwing stuff out from the upstairs window. I exclaim, "Amy please we need to talk about this." She doesn't say a word just keeps throwing my stuff out.
