Chapter 8

Amy POV

After I threw all of Ricky's clothes on the lawn I locked myself in the bathroom and start to bawl. Ricky starts knocking on the bathroom door and says, "Amy please come out here. We need to talk. Please just give me a chance to explain."

I exclaim, "I don't want to hear it anymore!"

Ricky states, "I am not leaving. I am going to wait right here until you come out and talk to me."

I open the door and yell, "What do you want? What do you expect? Just leave me alone!"

Ricky starts to cry and says, "Amy I love you. I would never cheat on you. Nothing has ever happened at the office."

I reply, "You and the whore looked quite cozy. I mean come on. She was sitting on your desk in a mini dress. Why?"

Ricky says, "It was wrong, yes. Nothing happened though. We were just talking."

I say, "That's how it starts. That's how it always starts."

Ricky replies, "Damn it Amy I love you."

I exclaim, "Prove it! You always put work before us. You work long crazy hours and now I know you spend your time with that whore."

Ricky says, "I'll fire her tomorrow. I don't care about her. I only care about you and our family."

I say, "I thought you were done with me. I thought you wanted to go our separate ways."

Ricky replies, "I was hurt and angry you were lying to me. I could never leave you and our family. You guys are my whole world."

I cry and say, "We don't feel like a family anymore."

Ricky says, "You are upset you don't really mean that. Give me a chance to prove that we are a family."

I sob and say, "I have given you so many chances. I don't have it in me anymore. John and I are going to stay at my mom's."

Ricky replies, "Amy please don't do this. We can go to counseling. What about John and our baby?"

I say, "I'm sorry Ricky but I'm not sure I am in love with you anymore. What would we be saving?"

Ricky starts to bawl and says, "I know you love me. You are just angry. I'm never going to give up on you."

I pack a bag for me and John. I go to his room and tell him, "Get up buddy. We are going to stay at Grandma's for a few days." As we are walking to the car John starts crying and says, "Daddy I don't want to go! Please, I want to stay here with you." I put him in his booster seat and he is still bawling. I see Ricky standing at the door crying as I pull away.

Adrian POV

It's a beautiful morning and I decide to take the kids to the park. I decide to call and invite Antonio to go with us. He has been blowing up my phone and I hadn't responded. He accepts the invitation and agrees to meet us there. I decide to call Ben first to tell him good morning and I love him. I make the kids some breakfast and we leave.

We get to the park and Antonio is already waiting for us. We have a blast playing with the kids at the park. They ran us around like crazy. They love the swings and the slide now. Now we are all hungry so we decide to take the kids for pizza.

We get to the pizza place and sit down. The waitress comes over and tells us we have a beautiful family. Antonio says, "Oh, thank you."

I laugh.

Antonio asks, "Do you ever wonder if this would be us if I never moved away?"

I reply, "I am happy with Ben. I don't think about what could have been."

Antonio asks, "I understand, but that thought never crossed your mind?"

I say, "No it never has. I love Ben!"

Antonio says, "I'm sorry, let's change the subject."

I reply, "To be honest I've always wondered why you never contacted me sooner."

Antonio sighs and says, "I was an idiot. I should have but I thought you didn't want to speak to me."

I ask, "Why would you think that?"

Antonio replies, "I left you. My leukemia kept coming back. I didn't want to put you through all of that. I thought you would be better off if I didn't keep you in the loop. I didn't want you to hurt or suffer."

I sigh and say, "I wasn't better off. We grew up together. I love you. You will always be my best friend."

A Few days later…..

Grace POV

I go over to Anne's house to check on Amy because I have been worried about her. I get there and Amy is sitting at the kitchen table on her phone, I hear whispering and she starts to giggle. I give her a look like what the heck. She quickly says, "I gotta go, I will call you later."

Amy says, "Hi Grace!"

I ask, "Hey girl, what's up?"

Amy replies, "Nothing, what do you mean?"

I say, "You are acting weird. Who were you talking to?"

Amy laughs and says, "You worry too much detective."

I reply, "Fine, I've just been worried about you. We talk about everything."

Amy says, "You know Ricky had an affair with his secretary and I just want to move on with my life."

I say, "Are you sure Ricky cheated? Sometimes things aren't always what they seem. You are pregnant with his child. Maybe you both should try counseling."

Amy replies, "That is exactly why I didn't talk to you about this. Ricky cheated and I know it! Plus he hasn't been there for me and John. I'm done trying to fix what can't be fixed."

I reply, "You know what Amy, I'm your friend. Real friends tell you what you don't want to hear. What kind of guy goes after a married woman who is pregnant with her husband's child?"

Amy replies, "Maybe a guy who has been in love with me since before I married Ricky!"

I say, "Oh so you are talking to Jay again!"

Amy says, "Yes."

I ask, "And he is okay with you being pregnant?"

Amy replies, "None of your damn business."

I reply, "I guess that's a no."

Amy says, "Yes, he does know. He doesn't care."

I say, "You are wrong for doing this without knowing for sure what happened."

Amy replies, "One night I decided to bring him dinner and I walked in on them looking too cozy!"

I reply, "Yes, it looks very bad. But you didn't wait to hear his side of the story."

Amy says, "I don't need too. I'm not as gullible as you!"

I say, "That's messed up, I just don't jump to conclusions without the facts."

Amy says, "Maybe you should just leave. You don't know what I have been through with Ricky this last year."

I reply, "Fine, good luck."

I head over to Shane's house and I'm in tears. When he opens the door, I jump into his arms. He says, "Baby, what's wrong?"

I reply, "I just got in a huge fight with Amy."

Shane caresses my face and asks, "What happened?"

We walk into the living room and before I can even start to explain I see Jay sitting on the couch.

I say, "What the hell is your problem?! Amy is a married woman with a child and another one on the way. What the hell are you thinking?!"

Jay says, "She is a grown woman who can make her own decisions."

I reply, "She's hurting right now and you are taking advantage! You know it's going to end up like last time, she's gonna go back to Ricky, she always does!"

Jay says, "Maybe not this time. Not after the way he has treated her."

Shane says, "Jay, maybe it's time you leave."

Jay replies, "Fine, pick your girl."

Shane say, "Man you know I don't agree with what you are doing. "

Jay says, "Okay, talk to you later Bro."

Jay smirks at me and says, "Maybe I'll go visit Amy again."
