AN: Hi loyal readers, I am so sorry I didn't update sooner! My schedule was filled without me being notified. Since testing is over my teachers are going to start giving me homework again on Monday so I won't be able to continue the two-chapters per day routine I've been doing. But I'll still try and post A chapter everyday. Once again, thank you jedipokemon for keeping my fingers on the keyboard. I'll be switching the POV in the middle of the chapter again. Enjoy!
If there's anything I learned from this whole experience, it's to face your problems instead of running away from them. When I tried running away it led me into a dark pit with no way to get out. Then someone sent the golden ladder of redemption into my miserable abyss. I was afraid to grab on, scared that I'd fall back down or be burned by the purity of that ladder. One day, the someone climbed down the ladder to see me. He convinced me that if I just believed I could, I'd make it up that ladder safe and sound. Now all I needed to do was readjust to the light outside my pit.
"Father?"
I looked up at my someone, my savior, who was installing my new prosthetic arm. "Are the nerve systems responding correctly?" Luke asked.
I tried feeling my face with the new hand, but pulled back after getting an unfamiliar sensation. Is that what touching feels like? What was wrong with my face? It felt dead! At least I could feel things again. I nodded in response to his question.
"Good, now that all your limbs are in working order, should we start training a bit?"
"Yes," I responded, "that'd be a good idea. Plus, I need to get used to using the light side again."
Luke smiled brightly and led me to a training room. I felt like a toddler taking his first steps, and Luke holding his arms out incase I collapsed.
"Luke I'm not two," I said feeling babied.
"True, but you aren't used to these legs yet. The last thing we need is you falling smack on your face."
He knew my weakness, it was pointless to resist his tight grip on my shoulders. I complied for the rest of the walk, and I did fall down a few times. When we got to the room Luke decided I was capable of moving without a chaperone. Moments after he moved my boot snagged on my cloak (I'd been supplied with new clothes) and my legs flew out beneath me. There was a loud bang and I landed flat on my back.
Luke ran over and said, "Do we need to get you crutches?"
I sat up and put my oversized hood back on (the large size intentional… let's just say I'm not a model for a reason). "Maybe I do," I replied trying not to sound as embarrassed as I was, but I could already feel the blush creeping up my cheeks.
Leia walked in the large training room and stared at me before saying, "I don't need an explanation. What happened is obvious."
"Now that we're all here let's start with the basics," Luke said.
He went into a meditative position and I followed. There was immediately an onslaught of negative feelings I'd felt while confined to the giant tin can. Loneliness, grief, guilt, hatred, and pain attacked my soul, beginning to change me into Darth Vader again.
"Come back to me!" Luke's voice rang in my head, "Fight back with all the love you've got!"
I focused on that and the Anakin in me won the war. My blue eyes snapped open and I was breathing heavily in exhaustion. The world around me blurred before I passed out from over doing it.
(POV Switch)
Children always wonder how it is in after life, if everything is wonderful. It really wasn't all that interesting. So I decided to check on the son of the man I once called brother. I hid my presence as I found the young man. He had just entered a large room with someone else, I couldn't tell who because their hood was covering their face. The figure fell down, his hood falling off revealing him to be...
No, it couldn't be. There was no way I had just seen that. But those stormy blue eyes, they could only belong to one person. Anakin Skywalker. I hate to say it, but he looked awful. Did he really turn back? It was more than I had dared to hope. Turning back from the dark side wasn't impossible, only that was clear as my former padawan's face turned from deathly pale to normal skin tone. I think that he was blushing. I observed as Luke brought Anakin out of some dark side after effect. It really had happened. But Luke had no clue how to train them.
Since Anakin had passed out from some sort of overload, I decided this would be a good time to appear for Luke and Leia.
"You have done well young Luke, but it appears you are not sure where to start with training."
Leia jumped up and said, "What was that?"
Luke seized this teaching opportunity and explained, "If they go through the right training, force sensitives can appear to us when they're dead."
I made my presence known and walked towards the twins, "What he says is true. But how did you turn Anakin back?"
Luke simply answered, "I did what Skywalkers do best, not follow orders."
It was true. Anakin never did anything someone else told him to do. Speaking of Anakin, how was he going to react when he woke up?
"He misses you," Leia said.
Luke's face lit up, "Leia you used the force!"
"She used the force?" I said but there was another voice saying the same thing at the same time. Anakin had woken up and he stared at me really confused.
"Am I going mad or am I really seeing dead people."
Typical Anakin, always the sarcastic one. "You're not going mad, this is real," I replied, waiting for him to pull out his lightsaber.
He didn't, he ran over and started… hugging me? "OhmygoshmasterImissedyousomuchI'msosorryforeverythingcanyouforgiveme," Anakin said, talking so fast his words blended together.
"I don't see why not."
(POV Switch)
Back on the Death Star, I would've laughed if someone had told me this was how my future was going to be. The former Darth Vader hugging a ghost, me having feelings for a scruffy looking nerfherder, and currently using the force with the brother I never knew I had.
Anything can happen, if you let it.
And I'm glad I did. Now I was lifting bottles without touching them and reading people's minds. The Empire was weakened by a fatal blow to their confidence. But most importantly, my family had reunited.
"And it's just gonna get bigger," Luke teased, picking up on the thoughts I had apparently "projected".
"Once your love life begins."
Luke mock glared at me and said, "How rude! I will get a girlfriend, you just wait and see!"
That grabbed the attention of my father, who ran over (almost tripping at least twelve times) and immediately started blurting out, "I know this girl, she's your age, force sensitive, and you could say we are friends. So if you bring her to the light like you brought me, you'll be an adorable couple!"
Obi-Wan and I were struggling to hold in our laughter. Most parents would say "You're too young to get a girl friend", but my parent wasn't like most parents. At all.
My com link beeped and I picked up, "Who is it?"
"It's me sweetheart," Han answered, "can I come in the gym?"
"There's no reason why you can't."
"Just making sure. Things have been complicated lately, and I didn't want to intrude on some private stuff."
I realized what he meant and responded, "He specifically requested a very large hood that hides his face. We made it an awkwardness free zone."
He nodded and cut the transmission. I just sat down on a bench and waited. Luke joined me and said, "Wait til' Han hears out this. 'Anakin Skywalker: Love Expert.'"
Speak of the devil, Han entered the room and joined us. "What's up you two?"
"Nothing," Luke immediately responded, "absolutely nothing."
"You're a terrible liar Luke," Anakin yelled from across the room, where he was working on something.
Han looked at me and mouthed 'is that?' and I nodded. I tried to describe the Mustafar incident with hand motions, which failed.
"Just tell him the story, I'll put in earplugs," Anakin shouted, picking up on my thoughts.
"What story?" Han asked.
"You see..."
(One painful backstory later.)
"… and that is also why we don't play with fire."
"Yikes, so that's why he wore that thing."
"State the obvious flyboy."
"When I realized it wasn't just some really awful dream I was shocked too," Anakin said quietly, "I don't wanna think about it. So I created a holographic presentation of the plans Palpatine has for the upcoming battle, along with possible ways we could strike back."
Luke clipped his lightsaber on his belt on said, "Then lets do this."
AN: This chapter was all over the place. With point of views, and the switch between lighthearted humor and seriousness. Review please!
