A/N) Ok guys, the chapters will be getting shorter, but more action packed as we go ok, I estimate at least three more chapters left... of course I might be wrong, depends on how my story goes, it sometimes goes on by itself, you know how it is. Anyway, have fun!

He kicked her.

Ashlyn flew over the cough rocky ground, coughing, choking on spit and blood.

"This my petty slave is just a taste of what you'll get before I'm done." Dyron sneered, yanking her head up by her hair, "Tell me slave, was it worth it. Was leaving and escaping from death only to get tortured even more, really worth it."

She gritted her teeth, sand caught between them, she opened her eyes slightly and glared at him, wishing this spell he had placed on her would disappear so she could show him petty.

"Yes." She hacked, "Yes it was."

He growled and kicked her hard in her stomach.

"Fine then, you will die soon enough anyway. Croc! Take her, we have much ground to cover." He swished his cape and started towards the half risen moon.

"My moment is coming."

"It's getting late guys. This map is confusing even me." Zane scratched his head as he held the map under the moon light.

Cole snatched it out of the white ninja's hands irritably, "We've been on this cruddy road for three days. That leaves only two before this stupid moon comes into place or whatever." He was seething about now.

Nya noticed how distraught he'd been getting, she was pretty sure the others did too, "Cole, calm down we'll find her and-"

"This way, come on!" He cut her off roughly and headed through a rocky terrain.

The others sighed.

"He's really worried about her." Jay said out loud.

"He is... why?" Zane asked cocking his head curiously, "I dare say we all are but, at least we're behaving rationally."

Nya slumped, feeling really guilty, Jay placed a warm hand on her shoulder, "Because Zane." His blue eyes connected with her hazel ones filled with loving comfort, "When some one extra specials in danger..." He kissed her cheek, "You don't think 'rational', you think 'get her safe'."

Zane still didn't get it.

Lloyd and Kai looked at each other.

'"Wait so your saying Cole is. . .?"

Jay nodded wisely, ""Head over heels."

Lloyd snickered like a kid and Kai smiled, "Guess he's not such a tough guy after all."

Nya opened her mouth to retort, but a yell cut her off.

"It's Cole!" Zane started for the direction.

When the five reached over the rocky hill they gapped.

Cole was sinking!

"Hang on buddy!" Kai yelled out skidding down kicking up a cluad of pebbles and dust before anyone could stop him.

"Kai wait! That's quick mud!" Zane warned too late. Kai slid and stuck fast.

Nya rolled her eyes, "That's my brother. Come on guys we gotta find something to pull them out with."

"Thanks Kai... your my hero." Cole snapped sarcastically, trying to force his way out of the stupide mud. This was slowing him down, he sank up to his waist. Swell, killed by mud, how heroic a death.

"Shut up." Kia glared obviously embarrassed by his goof up. This was useally Jay's department. Man, so much for going out awesomely.

"Grab this guys!" Jay called throwing a thick rope at them.

it landed in the mud with a splat, Cole grunted and pushed forward through the sludge reaching for the life line. With one more irritated grunt he snatched it up and pulled back a little,

"Grab hold hero boy."

Both ninja grabbed.

The rest pulled.

And pulled.

And pulled!

Finally their friends squelched, loudly, they pulled harder, then the boys came popping out of the deadly mud drop.

"Eww!" Nya groaned as her brother shook the sticky mud off his pants and shoes.

"No time for that. Come on let's go around." Cole started off without so much as a breath, ignoring the mud dripping off his arms and lower half of his body.

The others sighed.

"Your welcome." Lloyd muttered running after his friends.

Finally they skipped over the rocks and broke out in a run towards what looked like thick woods.

"Come on!" Cole yelled, still bursting full speed.

The others couldn't hear it but his mind was constantly replaying one sentence.

Please be ok Ash.

Please be ok.

Please be ok.

That kept him going.

He was going to get there on time. She was going to be ok. They would win. Then she could start over again, safer without that creep.

Cole was so caught up in his mission he didn't hear his friends shout until it was to late.

A huge clawed beast jumped on him from behind.

He tied her up against a old twisted looking tree. She had dried blood caked all over her body and scratches on her pale face.

She had a hard time breathing, but her mind was clear. She wasn't hurting physically. No, what really stung was her heart.

She had kept a hope that they would be here. That they would make it. That Cole would save her. She bit her bruised lip, a foreign liquid burned her sore eyes.

"Aww what's the matter slave, finally broken. Too bad, and I had such high hopes of you being unemotional." Dyron chuckled darkly before kicking her again.

She didn't move, her powers gone, she didn't feel anything but the pain of abandonment. She didn't belong anywhere. Nobody really cared. She was an idiot for thinking so.

She wished she had stayed behind her shadow armor.

"Croc! It's almost time, the moon will rise any minute now." Dyrons face gleamed with sick hunger for the power that would be his. He lifted the Eye and sliped it around his neck.

"So close!"

She licked her lips, one more thing, it had gnawed at the back of her head for years now, "Dyron."

He turned, anger burning at her for daring to say his name without the word 'master' in front of it.

"How dare you, you little - " He rushed forward and lifted her with her chains by her neck.

"Tell me-" She hacked blood, "Who- where did I come from." He dropped her instantly as if that question had burned his hand.

She groaned and shifted up the tree, "You - you know don't you."

He turned with an insane grin.

"As a matter of fact. I do. Since your going to die anyway." He hissed making her sick to her stomach, " I'll enlighten you."

Ashlyn waited for the worse.
