They sat down at the large table as a expected silence loomed over them. The twins kept their eyes glued to the girls at all times which made both Faith and Mercy squirm. Two maids appeared out of nowhere as they bowed and pulled out a note pad to take orders. Faith and Mercy felt like they were at an expansive restaurant as the maids listed there 'specials' for today. The twins told the maids just to bring the regular for everybody since both Faith and Mercy had no idea what most of the things on the 'menu' were. When the food came the girls mouths fell open in shock.

"W-w-what kind off a breakfast is this?" Mercy asked in awe.

"This is not breakfast, this is heaven." Faith said, eyes glowing in delight. The twins watched the girls as they stared at the food like it was diamonds.

"Have you never seen food before? Haruhi had a similar reaction to the food but this badly." Hikaru stated.

"It must be a commoner thing." Kaoru suggested.

"H-hey don't call us commo-ohhhhh the food smells soooooo good!" Faith bounced happily, getting sidetracked.

"Are you going to eat it or are you just going to be staring and smelling it?" Asked the twins.

"I can't believe this is what you actually eat for breakfast. Ever heard of cereal?" Mercy said, rolling her eyes.

"No." The twins said leaning in.

"Kaoru, first Narnia then cereal. The commoner world is an interesting place." Hikaru admired.

"It is, we'll have to get Faith and Mercy to invite us over for cereal another time." Kaoru agreed.

"Wait a minute, who said anything about inviting you over." Mercy interrupted.

"We took you into our home and gave you breakfast, it's only far that you invite us over to your house.

"No way! We didn't even eat breakfast yet, and you took us in here out of your own will so we owe you nothing." Mercy denied stubbornly. Like Faith, there was no way she was having them over. There was no way she would ever let anybody see what old shack they were living, especially one of the twins.

"Pretty please?" The twins said putting on their puppy faces, it seemed too have worked for Haruhi so why not Faith and Mercy?

"No." Faith and Mercy snapped.

"Fine, let's make a deal." The twins inched closer.

"What kind of a deal?" Mercy asked cautiously leaning back.

"If you can take one bite of the food and walk away, then we won't come over. But if you decide to eat the rest of it then you have to invite us over serve the cereal thing you were talking about." The twins smiled menacingly. Mercy and Faith looked at each other for a while.

"Fine." They agreed. It seemed easy enough. They picked up their spoons and scooped up some food. The twins were watching them expectantly. Faith was nervous, she was extremely hungry and the food looked so delicious she wasn't sure she could restrain herself. They took a bite as the twins peered closer. Their eyes grew wide; it was the most amazing thing they have ever eaten in their lives! It even surpassed pizza which Faith was so sure was imposable.

"So?"

"Can you restrain yourselves?" The twins asked knowingly. Eating just one bite made Faith and Mercy realize how hungry they were, the twins ate a large bite of their own food in mockery. After spending years living off MacDonald's and other fast food places, their taste buds were crying with joy and delight.

"Fine, Fine! You can eat the stupid cereal!" Faith caved. The twin's grins widened.

"But you can't tell anyone that you're coming to our house." Mercy added in hastily.

"Okay." The twins agreed. After everyone had finished eating Faith sighed contently.

"So when will you guys be coming over?" She asked with dread.

"When can you have us over?" The twins said, a small smile crept across their lips. Mercy rolled her eyes, plan already in mind.

"You can come over afterschool on Friday, you can walk with us to our house and eat dinner with us. Cereal is a breakfast food, but we'll eat that for dinner just for you guys." Mercy sighed. 'Even though we actually eat cereal for breakfast lunch and dinner since we can't afford anything else.' Mercy added in silently.

"Okay." The twins agreed.

"Now that that's settled we should get going now" Mercy said, grabbing Faiths wrist and pulling her up.

"We'll drive you….err get our driver to drive you is more accurate." The twins offered.

"That's okay." Faith declined hastily. There was still no way they were going to see the rat shack they lived in, and by the look on Mercy's face, it was obvious that she already conceived a plan to keep that from happening.

"Are you sure?" They offered once again. "Might as well show us where you live now, before you guys wimp out on us and run away."

"Trust me, we won't wimp out." Mercy said rolling her eyes. The twins looked skeptical but agreed. Faith got up and stretched, a sudden feeling of wooziness swept over her as she staggered backwards and fell. Mercy rushed over to her and helped her up.

"Are you sure you don't want us to drive you?" They asked concerned.

"Ya, I just need some air. I guess all that commotion the other day wore me out." Faith laughed, ignoring the pain that pounded in her head. Mercy led Faith to the door, when she once again collapsed. The twins rushed over to them concerned.

"Maybe we should take you to a doctor." Kaoru suggested.

"No, no I'm fine." Faith laughed it off.

"Here" Mercy said as she bent forward, motioning Faith to get on her back. Faith obliged and hoped on.

"Sorry for the inconvenience we caused you." Mercy said as she propped Faith higher onto her back.

"You're going to carry her all the way to your house?" Hikaru asked in disbelief.

"She weighs as much as a penny; I've had harder times carrying around a plastic bag." Mercy scoffed.

"But still, I think she should get her head checked out." Kaoru insisted.

"I'm fine." Faith rolled her eyes. Hikaru remained silent the entire time just watching them. Kaoru was right, they were very interesting.

"Wait, before you go. Here." Hikaru said as he handed Faith the blue ribbon.

"What is this." She asked holding it in her hands. "Oh, it's my hair ribbon. It must have fallen off, thank you for getting it." Faith said sincerely.

"Hey, I didn't notice this earlier but where are your parents?" Mercy said, taking a good look around.

"Out on a business trip." The twins replied it unity, when they remembered a question that had come up when they discovered Faith in the bathroom.

"Where are your parents?" The twins asked looming closer. Faith tightened her grip on Mercy.

"Oh right! I forgot all about them! I guess we should head back now before they start to worry!" Faith lied.

"Yep, mom will be so peeved with us!" Mercy agreed.

"Wait, you have the same mother? I thought you were friends not sisters." The twins asked remembering everything they had told them.

"We just call her both our mom's"

"We're half sisters." They said at the same time. They glanced nervously at each other.

"We mean that we're…..step-sisters so even though she's not my mom I just call her that." Faith corrected hastily, rattling her brain in search for a good lie.

"I thought you said you were half sisters." Hikaru accused.

"N-nope, I said step." Faith stuttered.

"Then why did you guys say you were good friends and that you were like sisters?" The twins asked hounding on them.

"Because we aren't related by blood, and, and….Agh! What is this, an interrogation?" Mercy groaned in frustration.

"Look, we just didn't want to tell you guys we were step-sisters. I don't know why but we didn't, are you happy now? You know re secret." Faith lied reaching in front of Mercy and opening the door as Mercy strutted out of there.

"See you for dinner on Friday!" The twins hollered as they watched Mercy stop out of there, while Faith struggled to stay up on Mercy's back.

"So they're really coming over for dinner at our house?" Faith asked once they were a safe enough distance for the twins not to hear them.

"Oh they be coming over all right, that much is unavoidable. They just won't be coming over to our house." Mercy mused as she sped up.

'They can't know where we live. Besides our home being a rat's nest, we aren't legally allowed to be living on our own, and if they find out and tell it will have to move again. I won't let anybody push me out of my home, not this time.' Faith thought determinedly.

"They're hiding something, and it's bigger than being poor or being sisters." Hikaru said unblinking.

"I know."

"It's up to find out what it is and we will find out." Hikaru promised.

Faith let out a sly smile as she looked behind her shoulder at the twins.

'You have no idea what our pasts are and what 'secrets' they hide, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep it that way. You don't want me to ruin your happy 'family?' Well I don't want you to mess up mine either.' Faith closed her eyes.

'This time I won't give up.'
