Chapter 42: Be Brave and Flutter On Part 2

Discord was becoming unbearable.

"No offense Mr. Bear." Harry said to Harry the Bear who grunted as if saying "None Taken." Harry, Featherweight and Shady Daze where helping Fluttershy clean animal pens for extra bits. "I mean seriously! First he scared me half to death with that false paw gag, then he turns Fluttershy's house upside down and all over the place and now apparently he wants us to come to a dinner party tomorrow here at Fluttershy's house. He's only buttering her up so she'll refuse to use her Element to turn him to stone."

"Are you sure about that? He seems to be making a genuine effort to be nice to me." Featherweight said as he sipped a glass of lemonade Discord had brought them all earlier.

"There's a difference between being genuinely nice and false niceness to lull us into a false sense of security." Harry reminded Featherweight as he sipped some fruit punch. Fluttershy liked those new "Single Drinks to go" powder drinks.

"Good job boys. Spot on cleaning." Discord suddenly popped up. "And Dear, sweet, precious nephew, do remind your mother about the dinner party tomorrow?"

"Sure sure." Harry waved his paw as Fluttershy handed them the bits. Harry then felt something grab him, a paw from underground! "AHH! Momma! MOMMA!" Harrry fled Fluttershy's with Featherweight and Shady Daze right behind him

Discord laughed his mustache off. Literally. "Oh I'm going to have so much fun teasing him."

"That wasn't very nice." Fluttershy protested. She understood a practical joke could be funny now and then. But targeting a foal with a prank known to scare him was...sadistic...

"Oh is only the false hoof gag. I've come up with dozens of ways to use it!" Discord laughed as he put his mustache back on his nose.

The next evening...

"Fluttershy he's only buttering you up so you won't use your Element against him!" Rainbow Dash said after a gravy boat with puppy like characteristics spilled piping hot gravy in her lap. "Why are you cutting him so much slack!"

"Because that's what friends do." Fluttershy reminded Rainbow Dash who looked a bit sheepish.

"Momma!" Harry burst in with Angel Bunny. "The orchards have flooded!" He gasped as the foal tried to catch his breath. "Giant BEAVERS!" He said

"What?!" Applejack ran as fast as she could toward the farm with the rest of the mares in tow.

"This is all HIS fault!" Applejack snapped to Fluttershy.

"But he's really trying to change and-" Fluttershy was interrupted by Rainbow Dash.

"Wake up and smell the coffee Fluttershy! Discord knows your the meakest of us and he's using that against you!"

"Of course I know he's using me! I'm just trying to win his friendship any way I can! Do you all take me for a weak, gullible fool?!" Fluttershy snapped back at herfriends surprising them.

"Er...only in the sense of being weak and gullible." Rarity admitted sheepishly.

The angry mare asked Discord to fix everything. His solution? Turning the orchard into an ice skating rink.

Then it happened. Fluttershy gave up. She turned her back to Discord and declared their "friendship" over." This made Discord laugh.

I don't need any friends! I have Chaos at my whimsy. So what if I...lose my...only friend..."Huh." He said. He then turned and watched Fluttershy for a moment. "Clever girl." He then opened his foretalon and thumb talon. "All right Fluttershy, you win." Discord snapped his fingers returning Sweet Apple Acres orchards and the beavers and dams to norma. Not wanting to lose his only friend.

Harry then had an epiphany of sorts. One didn't get to pick and choose family. He had thought himself a poor orphan the Apples took pity on for years. Now he had 3 grandmas, a grandpa, an aunt, two in fact! A cousin, his Dad, and now, another Uncle! He didn't like it, but Discord WAS his uncle. So he went up to Discord, and opened his hooves.

He urked as Discord gave him a bit too strong hug.

The next Day, Princess Celestia came back.

"I knew that for Discord to truly be reformed we would need somepony with the Kindness to change him...and the Courage to accept him as family." She smiled proudly down at her Grandcolt. Giggling as he growled while Discord ruffled his mane.

Harry squirmed his way out of his Uncle's grasp. "Just because I've accepted you doesn't mean I have to like you." He reminded Discord.

"I do suppose your right." Discord said with a finger on his chin. He then snapped his fingers and a very large bag of Harry's favorite cheese popcorn appeared in front of him. Harry gasped and looked to the other mares who where busy talking to the Princess, then teleported it to his snack bunker beneath the floorboard of his and Applebloom's room.

"This changes nothing." Harry insisted.

"Our little secret." Discord teased. "All right Princess, I'm ready to start using my magic...for good...most of the time." He whispered to Harry who giggled.

"Say it." Pinkie insited to Discord.

Discord rolled his eyes. "Fine. Friendship is Magic. Can we go now?" Discord asked Celestia who nodded to her pseudo sibling. The two left by flying themselves rather than by Royal Guard escort.

Poke Poke. Harry felt something poking his flank. Harry slowly turned in horror to see a disembodied eagle talon waving at him and then grasping his tail.

"AAAHHHH! MOMMA!" MOOMMMAAAA!" Harry wailed in panic as he ran in circles in terror.

The mane 6 mares heard Discord laughing from miles away as they tried to calm the poor foal down.

I got the false hoof bits from remembering a rugrats episode where Stu had an interview at a restaurant with some big toy man and the guy scared Tommy with the false hand and LAUGHED about scaring an infant with something he doesn't understand. I find this very creepy as an adult.

Yes. I count Granny Smith as his grandma cause she practically raised Big Mac and Applejack herself. Big Mac and Applejack where adults by the Time Applebloom and Harry came around.
