Chapter 9: Tony First

She apologized, and as she was looking up, Kagome wanted to just turn around and leave, or at least walk through him if possible. There are two males in which she was looking to avoid and clearly her Luck was ignoring her and decided to make her life a misery by Tony Stark in her path. Kagome tried again to apologize and walk pass him, instead he did not allow that and took hold of her hand to tug her with enough force to shift her centre of gravity to fall against him. At the moment this is a bad situation, especially when she is unable to get out of his hold without it turning to be ugly.

"We never finish our conversation," he told her tightly, practically dragging her across the floor in the most obvious of manner that she was sure would draw the attention that she did not want.

It was unnecessary attention and even more so, she hated how it had caught Shippo's attention and he was making his way in their direction. She hastened to try pulling away from his grasp, but found his hold tightening more. It was going to become a problem, but it was far too late for her as Shippo had already caught up with them and got hold of her other free hand as he tried tugging her towards him. It was made apparent that the two male did not care much for each of their own image or that they were in public. And they both started a silent war of glares before it became somewhat more verbal in an almost too casual and snarky a manner that it would have been amusing, but not to her. It was like she had became invisible and more of a piece of meat that the two were fighting over like some aunties and housewives at a great sale discount in the supermarket. She hated the feeling of what it was like and even more so in such a public place like this made it even more humiliating for her that their associates, acquaintances and friends was watching this spectacle.

And when they both turned to her for an answer it had confused her, as she had not been following it, and only had thoughts of escaping from the both of them. She had tried to break from them, but both held on whilst they glared at one another.

"Can we please take this else where," she told them in a harsh whisper, worried of what damage that this had already cause for all of them present.

They had been hesitant, reluctant at first, but did as she wished and took it outside of the venue where it was still accessible to anyone attending this event, or even to those that were wandering about outside of it. And from there she who had originally thought would be easier for her to slip away found Tony to be holding onto her hand too tightly to even think about letting it go, and the same could be said about Shippo. She knew since that day that they would both need an answer from her despite of how she would continuously try to avoid them. However, Kagome had originally thought of doing it at another time when she was ready and not in a situation that they had both placed her in, and a rather humiliating one at that. She chewed on her lower lips unsure of how she was going to begin it, and it was still too soon too fast for her to make a decision regarding to how she should confront them, or approach the subject at all.

Shippo had a growl that was growing and though Tony heard it, he was not backing down from it.

She hated the feeling of being cornered and even more so between two males, one of which she had loved since getting to know him since he was a kit and the other was like a past of herself that she sees in him. Instead, Kagome bolted, going down the hallway as quickly as her heels would allow her as she heard the two males bickering and pushing fault to one another as they hurried after her. This was a problem in which she had to take care of but at the moment it is still rather unnerving needing to confront them, and she hated the idea that she might need Sesshoumaru's help in this as well. Kagome would have to move fast or Shippo would be the one to catch up to her soon, but she was praying that either one would prevent the other from coming after her. In her mind, she knows that going back to either of her home would be a bad idea, and she knew that going back to the office would not be a good idea either, then there was Sesshoumaru. He was the perfect of choice, however that would mean that he would need to know what is going on and she fear for it too.

Kagome kept driving that night around the city, trying to make up her mind on what to do. She finally stopped that night in one of the more obscure love hotel that she was sure Shippo would not venture into the district. It was her safest choice to stay there on transit for now, at least until she had her mind straightened up. This was perhaps the better choice in her opinion than being hunted down by Shippo in locations that he would know she goes to thinking that no one knows of it but him. She hated how their relationship at the moment was becoming like, but she need to stay away from them until she could face them at least. Work was the only few distraction that she had the luxury for and to say that there was more, would be a lie.

The warm water washing through her body was a blissful get away, and it helped her relaxed her body and calm her mind more than when she was facing the two of them. She could not deal with two of the male at once, it would usually be just one of them at a time and it was easier that way, but she fear for Shippo's possessive nature to take control being the kitsune demon that he is. She had even hoped that it was only in the spur of the moment that he had mixed up his loyalty with possessiveness since finding out about Tony. Soon, she promised, she will settle this and then things will be back to how it once was and more peaceful. For now she just need more time to herself to prep what was to come.

The two males they had turned separate paths, both wanting to find her that night to settle things with her first. He hated not knowing more of the other male's own abilities if possible, the full extent of it. And even more so, it was too vague that even with his researching there was hardly many things that make sense appeared on his own radar or technologies. Tony took his phone out and was quick in making necessary search for Kagome, her location it was rather interesting one that he least expected, but made his way immediately quickly there before the other. It was obvious that she though she would remain unfound, however she was going to be in for a big surprise. The security of the place was staggering, and it was most easy for him to get the key to her room with just a few amount of money after a brief description of her and the timing that she came walking in. It was just a thought for Kagome that she most probably would wish to remain unknown to the public, he was just merely protecting her identity and with that said, Tony took a deep breath before entering her room.

The room was emptied but he had an idea of where she was just as the toilet door opened and it took a while before she saw him and heard her surprised gasp. She was going to back up back into the toilet and perhaps lock herself in it, but instead he told her to change, that they needed to talk, unless she was going to wait around for her adopted son to come along. At the mentioning of Shippo, she was quick to get herself dressed and ready. Tony was most respectful in turning his head away from her as she went about the room gathering her clothes to dress, though it really did not make much of a difference since he had seen her in just about nothing already. They were well on their way in her car and they did not stop driving until they were in the hotel that he was currently residing,

Tony had to pull her along quickly, and the silence between them was awkward almost intolerable. As soon as the door of his room closed behind of them, there were many things going on between them that added to the tension that hung thick in the air. His sighing was loud and not in the most discreet manner as well, but it did caught Kagome's attention as she turned towards him with a frown but turned her head away again to not get caught. She who was trained to be ready and prepared for just about any situation and to think on her feet, however well it works out for just about everything, but not for her personal life, it was always on hold but not when it concerns her family members.

He was fixing drinks for them, but she could sense him feeling troubled and nervous, even when he had brought the drink to her to which she drank it down too much too quickly that it seemed to make him look somewhat surprised. She was not nervous, but it did calm her nerves, or at least numb her to be more relaxed.

"O...kay, so you are very thirsty," Tony mumbled as he took sips from his to retrieve the bottle of Suntory whiskey that he had opened to place it before of them.

Just as he placed the newly opened bottle on the coffee table before of them, Kagome took it to refill her own glass as she took another swig at it before taking sips. Tony had refilled his own as well in between of her sips before he started a topic in which she had been obviously avoiding. Kagome was somewhat more hesitant when she took her next sip as she glanced nervously in Tony's direction.

"Stop running away," he told her, "I know what it is like to run away, and I'm tired of it," Tony said the last part wearily, tiredness evident in his tone. Kagome looked down at the hand that had been holding hers as she looked up at him for a moment, before drawing her hand away from under his.

"I'm sorry Mr Stark for having to bother you, but I think I should get going," Kagome whispered it out as she slowly stood up from her seat on the sofa in the suite's living room.

She know that he was right to say that she was running away from her problems and not facing them, and it was just so strange and weird for him to say it. However for now, she needed to get away before tears start to fall, she was not used to showing signs of weakness like this before of others. It could of course become a tool of manipulation, however not in a time like these. She had always thought herself to be able to hold on strong and not breakdown or at least control to when she was going to break down, but obviously she was wrong.

"Kagome!" he said in raised voice as Tony grabbed her hand to hold her back, "Please, stop running away," he told her in too soft of a voice as he slanted his mouth against hers, intending to keep it as a simple kiss but ended up making it a overly passionate one.
