Inuyasha crossover Iron Man
Chapter 12: Tantrum and Trouble
Tony could not understand her behavior, when he entered, he could see it in her eyes that she was already his. Though the other, Shippo, was there with her, he already knew that he has won her over and he should not be jealous about it. There was always a first or maybe second when it comes to someone whom he has come to acknowledge and accept into his life as someone important, just like how he had with Pepper, but this time it was different, it was more than that. Being with Kagome, completes him, and he means that on all levels, and spiritually too as well.
And just because of his little fit or tantrum, he was now kicked out of her office as though he was just a mere ragdoll. He growled lowly, a first for him as he hit the wall of the elevator, the sound of metal reverberating on the lift. It was a first for him to behave in such undignified manner, he left the building with a storm cloud above his head as he gave orders to go to a club where he spent the rest of the night drinking, making merry, and basically practically returning to his old self.
Kagome on the other hand was trying to contain Shippo from going full out demon, if matters like these were to escalate further, she would have to contact Sesshoumaru, it was a good thing though that he is back in Japan. This was perhaps the first few rage in which he had underwent that she had seen, the last time was back in the Feudal Era when they were fighting off demon thugs out to make their life a misery, mainly trying to get a piece of her to devour. It was a sign of puberty, however it was not something that Shippo himself was able to fully comprehend in handling or taking control of.
The phone was thrown out of her reach when she had tried to dial for Sesshoumaru's private line on her office phone. Had it not been for her miko abilities being still in tact, she might have not been able to make the call that was promptly answered and put down as soon as the few words flew out of her mouth on the situation. Their ever so reliable pack leader would know how to handle it, having gone through the same phase when he was just a pup, all she had to do now was to just be able to contain Shippo until he gets here.
The confinement of the place made things more tedious as Kagome did her best, though proving to be somewhat more difficult as she did not have the heart to inflict too much injury upon him. When he had pounced on her, his weight pinning her down, she felt the fear in her for the first time of him and what he was planning on doing. Kagome flinched when she felt his face at the junction of her neck, sniffing it as a growl emitted from his throat in an almost too feral manner. She tried squirming and struggling under his grip to get away, but felt instead even more weight upon her arms, holding her in place beneath of him as his tongue lashed out to lick her neck as though preparing it. Her heart was racing afraid of what he was about to do, just as he was mere millimeters away from the junction of her neck and shoulder, the weight pinning her down was suddenly gone as she stayed stunned for a moment, hearing the feral snapping of growls and an equally irate dog demon. She watched the familiar scene of the two youkai fighting before of her.
In times like these, she felt helpless, especially in helping to calm Shippo down when he is taken over by rage and one where she was the cause of it. Kagome watches as Sesshoumaru forces Shippo to submit to his dominance, she hated it when he becomes like that, especially when he was still but a teen in demon years. However, Kagome knows that if she were to cry or show any sort of might turn things otherwise for them currently, not that it would matter for Sesshoumaru, he was able to handle just about everything. Though it pained her to see Shippo in such a state because of her, but it was something that even she has no control over. It was after all in the law of nature for their kind.
It took almost forever in her view, with a rather annoyed Sesshoumaru in the end who as always demanded an explanation. It took a while to get every little detail out, and when she was done, she could see that he was more irritated than before. To others, Sesshoumaru would seem cold, unfeeling, detached and most of all arrogant. And the only few that know how to read most of his expressions are both Shippo and herself. She hated it when he looks as though he's ready to kill, Sesshoumaru always remained calm in appearance, emotionless even. For anyone it is hard to read him, however they know how he is like after spending centuries with him, and they noticed everything about him, right down to the micro expression that would sometimes show upon his face.
Sesshoumaru said nothing much aside from carrying along with him Shippo, away from her office, and telling her to tidy it up. Kagome looked at the damages that were done in her office, and it was in a pretty poor state. There were few that she could contact at this hour to get things cleaned up, and she was lucky at that as Kagome picked up her poor phone that was lying under the chair of her coffee lounge area. Through it all, she felt a need to explain to Tony of what had happened, instead of leaving it at such a bad state, especially when there is a possibility that he may become a working acquaintance in business.
It was not until about morning before things were quickly cleaned up and restored to its original state, had it not been for the kind that they are, this kind of fix up would have been impossible. The sun was slowly rising and soon enough the staffs in her office will soon be arriving, a short trip to the surveillance room was all that was needed to delete away certain time period. All she need now was to call their personal cleanup crew to settle the blank in the timing of which she had deleted.
Kagome was back to being behind of her desk, burying herself in more work than necessary, and doing work that did not really need her personal attention. After what had happened, it was logical that she returned back to her apartment and rest, or at least take some time off, but not to her, it would have been just another huge distraction for her. Anthony Edward Stark, the one man that had managed to not only create complications in her current life, but to stir up something in her that she had thought dead so long ago.
The man was opposite of what she was looking for, but at the same time, what she needed in her life she had come to realize long ago. However problems are now arising because of his appearance into her life. Perhaps she should be a little more commanding or something about handling it, like how she would deal with when it comes to business and work. Might it have been easier then? She wondered. It was hard to say, but maybe, just maybe, it will be, and her problems might go away and everything will go back to how it once was, except for this tension between Shippo and her.
The barrier had been broke whether she likes it or not, and she has to do something about it before it gets even more out of hand like what had happened earlier in her office.
