Inuyasha crossover Iron Man
Chapter 16: Lost and Desperate
The most Tony did for his hand after a while, was merely to just pull the glass bits out of it, and washing the wound with running before he wrapped it up with one of the hotel hand and face towel. The phones kept ringing, but he was in no mood to answer it, all he wanted now was to calm his nerves with the alcohol that he had in his room. There were many things that he had been through, life and even a few near death experiences himself. After experiencing and witnessing what happened in Kagome's penthouse, it brought back his fear and nightmares, the all too familiar feeling in the pit of his stomach and the cause of partial paranoia in his mind and attacks.
The many wild thoughts on his mind were fueled by fear, paranoia and most especially alcohol. He ignored the constant ringing of the doorbell and the ringing of the phones, it was slowly getting on his nerves as it rang through his thoughts.
"SHUT IT DAMN IT!" he shouted his frustration, throwing the glass cup against the door of his room which shattered upon impact as he slides down the floor whilst leaning against the wall, breathing heavy as his heart races, the threats of another attack after so long.
The only sounds that he heard was the hammering of his heart against his ears and his heavy breathing. Then, it was at last quiet again, exactly what he needed it. His mind was in a mess, it was like everything was coming back at him in full blow. Tony heard the sound of the door mechanism open with the sliding of the card, the footsteps were silenced by the carpeted ground, but he was sure that it was a female with her mumbling her thanks before letting the door close behind her.
Kagome was least to say surprised and shock when she found him to be on the ground and in such a mess. "Tony!" she exclaimed worriedly as she quickly knelt down next to him, his eyes they seemed far away, but what caught her attention the most was the smell of blood.
It was easy to spot with the white towel that was blooming a blood blossom upon it as she rushed to take hold of his hands with hers. Kagome was careful to unwrap the hand as she carefully examined the wound, spreading it slowly as she inspected it. She felt partially relieve that the wound was not infected, and there was no fragments of foreign particles in it left remaining. The rest was easy as she placed a hand over his wound, and helped quicken the healing process.
Tony's eyes widened when he saw that it was Kagome, but what he saw next stunned him, it was impossible for a human like them. However there were too many impossibilities in his life becoming a possibility that it blurred the lines of reality vastly. When Kagome removed her hand above his, he saw that it was as good as new, but it did not matter much to him as compared to what he desired that was currently right before his eyes.
Reaching out to gather her into his arms quickly, he could feel Kagome tense a little but soon relaxed against his. "Don't leave me," he whispered into her ears in desperation, leaving Kagome with no choice but to leaning against him as she felt the rise and fall of his breathing against her face. She would give him that comfort that he needed for now, putting aside what she had originally came for.
It hurts that her to see him in this state, and it was the first for her. Kagome chewed on her lower lips unsure of her own conflicting emotions and decisions. When she had awaken that day, she found that Tony was no where within sight from where she laid on the sofa, there were things that they had to talk about and all he did was distract her, but she had to admit that she had wanted it as well. Even when she had gone around her house to search for him, he was not there, and it made her feel odd at the lost of his presence.
"Tony," she whispered, worry in her voice as she pushed herself off him as lightly as possible, "We really need to talk,"
"Don't…please…" his eyes sad and in pain as he remained where he is, lacking the strength to move.
"Tony…this is important," she whispered softly, squeezing his hand gently as she tried to get him to stand upon his feet, whilst taking the bottle of alcohol away from him.
"No!" he slurred out in stubborn desperation, suddenly spreading his arms open as he held Kagome down tightly to his body, wanting nothing more than to bind her to him so that she will never leave him.
Kagome allowed him for the moment to hug her so tightly, just because she too needed that time to calm her nerves. She even almost leaned into his touch when he titled her head back for a kiss that at first was soft, lingering, scared, but turned into a needy, urgent hungry kiss that reminded her how much she could not get enough of him. He dragged a hand through her hair, pressing her closer to his, and not giving the space or chance to reject or turn away from his kiss. Her body recognizes and reacts to his touches, as she felt dragged in by it like a drug, and did nothing to push him away until she heard him begged ever so softly, "Don't leave me,"
She started struggling against him, pushing him away no matter how much he tried to tighten his hold around her against him. "Don't, please," he desperately beg now, the loneliness in his eyes held untold fears and sadness as Kagome looked up into them, stopping her as she looked sadly into the begging eyes that easily captured her heart.
"Tony…. I…"
"Please Kagome…"
"I…I can help you forget everything," she promised him so softly that she worried that Tony did not hear it.
His eyes searched hers as he tried to find the meaning behind of what her words mean, he heard the pain in her words and dread filled him again of the literal meaning behind of it coming true. "No please, don't," his whisper ragged as his voice broke holding back the emotions that were overwhelming him as his hand shook a little. The pressing of his hand against her skin, kept him reassured that she was there in his arms, and it stilled the shaking of his hands.
"If you forget you'll no longer feel the pain," she whispered softly, a promise that she could easily keep and fulfill. All she had to do later was to just picked up and forget about him, and she had a long immortal lifetime to do it.
"I want you, only you," he choked out, rewrapping his arms around her even more tightly to keep her there. Desperation was something that never happened to him much or this deep, the emotion was too much and Tony knows deep in his heart that he could not live without her even.
"…I'm wrong for you, so wrong…" Kagome forced herself to say it, her hands were fisted as she pulled herself away from him, standing to go across the room where the sofa is, needing to put distance between them.
"No! Never."
"I'm sorry Tony, if given the choice…" yes, if given the choice, what would she have done…
"Don't," he begged, crawling onto his knees as he tried to get up to rush across the room to grab her, to hold her, he wanted nothing more than to reassure her that they could work out anything.
"I'll do anything," he promised her but say her already shaking her head as she slip out of his reached each time he tried to grab her.
"I can't allow you to do that," she chewed on her lower lips to prevent her lips from quivering as tears threatened to fall at any given moment, she need to get out and away from him quickly before she gets pulled in any further by him or she'll drown in him. "Tomorrow Tony," she managed out before rushing towards the door, brushing past him as she did not dare to take a glance at him if not it might changed her mind.
Kagome could hear his hurried and heavy footsteps behind her as the door slammed against the back of the wall again before it could close. She dared not look back, knowing who it would be as she threw the escape path door open to run down the stairs hoping to out run him. Her vision blurred by the heavy tears that were now spilling down her face, as she roughly wiped it away with her hand, never once stopping to put more distance between them.
"Kagome!" he shouted in desperation, his voice already hitting a soft spot in her heart as she felt the pangs of pain grabbing at her chest making breathing harder.
He would quickly gain after her soon if she did not move faster, the long steps down to the ground floor would prove to be a difficulty in the stairwell, but she hoped and prayed hard for him to not catch up with her, to give up and leave. Then she would perhaps have a chance of forgetting him when she gets back to her home.
"Kagome! Don't leave me please!" he begged, footsteps quickly climbing down the steps, even as he took jumps and stumbled along the way down to her. It had made her stop a few times when he groaned out in pain as she turn to look worriedly at him that he might have perhaps injured himself again.
She admits that it was not the best of moments or time to leave him on his own, especially after she found him lost, broken and bleeding from a self inflicted injury in his room. Kagome could hear him, he was nearing because of her shift in focus from running away, and he will soon catch up. With a pained look, she moved and skipped steps to put more distance between them. The fact that she had about 23 storey worth of stairs to climb down was not the best of idea, but if she had awaited for the lift, she knows that he would have easily caught up to her and break her resolve.
She was about to make a jump again but heard the thud of a body against the floor and a loud cry as she stopped and turned sharply to see him on his sides clutching to his arm as his body was placed in an awkward angle between the wall and the floor. Her eyes widened as instinctively Kagome rushed to him, but stopping a few flight of steps when near him as he turned pained eyes to look at her with such deep sorrow.
And because of that mistake of turning back, he pounced on her, wrapping her tightly in his arms as he twisted his body to cushion her fall. It was the only way that he knows to get her attention, to get her back before she could walk out and disappear from his life. A mistake that he had learned from his days with Pepper, letting her walk knowing that she will come back when there is a possibility that she might never come back.
"Tony," she whispered scared fearful as she tried to get out of his arms, especially after she heard the loud sound of his body hitting the ground where his head and body had hit the corner of the wall and floor rather hard.
The wind was knocked out of him as he bit back a cry of pain, eyes squeezing tightly as a few tears were squeezed out. His teeth grinded at the pain and the threatening darkness that was going to consume him, all just to hold her tightly against him so that she will never run away or disappear from his life.
"Don- Don't…" he gasped out trying to focus his mind,
"...le-eave me," he grounded out, a death hold of her against his body in arms that was now her temporary prison.
Darkness swirled into his mind as he tried to say something again but instead felt the pain in his head to overwhelm his sense and his head fell to the ground again making another impact with the ground as it seemed to bounced on it a few times as his arms around her grew slack.
"Tony?"
"Tony?!" Panic quickly rose Kagome as she gently lifted his head to feel a wet patch that was slowly growing into a small puddle.
No time was wasted as she did an emergency healing on his current bleeding wound to burn out the dirt and possible infections before working on healing it. Perhaps one of the worse but she was unsure of various other things, and all she could do was to give him a full healing to help prevent anything from coming harm to him.
She watched the blood slowly dissipated into nothing as the wound closed. Now it was cured, but there might be worse and as tears once again blurred her vision, she felt heart raced with fear and panic of the various other possibilities. Kagome laid his head on her lap, cradling his head as she began a long healing process to help mend his body. It has been a long time since she last did something like this, but pushed herself to do it, even falling unconscious at one point of it without knowing how well he was healed.
Two bodies lay unconscious in the stairwell with Tony head comfortably resting on her lap as she fell back against the wall knocked out from the toil of using too much of her healing abilities to help heal him.
"Tony,"

To Spastic Freak
Thank you so much, you have no idea how much your review can really push and motivate a person to write, ideas just keep pouring in for this fan fiction, I hope that it does for my other fan fiction, but I should be happy nonetheless that this fan fiction is making the most progress and on it's way to completing. =] I'm really glad to hear from your opinion that I am not messing up Kagome's characters for this fan fiction as well, been one of my biggest worry about not portraying her correctly because of her age in this and the one in the mange/anime.
To the three updates in a row for this, I hope that you are having a great weekend, take care and I hope to see you around!
To Yohanzzon
