Inuyasha crossover Iron Man
Chapter 18: Silent Prayer
"Let it down Kagome," Shippo demanded with a snarl, red starting to seep into his eyes as Kagome kept up with the barrier that was protecting her against him.
"Please just stop it, you've to fight your beast and take control," Kagome pleaded him feeling the trickle of sweat rolling down the side of her face as she slowly reinforced her barrier, watching the swirl of ominous green swirl around not just Shippo but slowly surrounding her as well.
It was painful, and stressful on her both physically and mentally. This similar situation reminded her of the time when Naraku would spread his miasma poison to weaken them via their immunity system before sending in his minions and then he will come in for the kill. Kagome now worry as she felt herself slowly losing whatever remaining energy she had in reserve after the healing she did on Tony, it was like whatever the green mist like thing was, was slowly draining her of not just her power, but also her life energy. If Shippo were not handled soon, there is a chance that she will perish there with him.
"Please stop," she begged, already feeling the pressure weighing down on her body as Kagome tried to delay the idea of attack Shippo more offensively instead of going on defense to keep him safe from harm and potential death.
Her barrier was slowly breaking down and she would have to make the decision quickly within the seconds, whether she was to keep going on defense or to attack and possibly kill. Kagome hated either of the decisions, even if she were to go on defense, she would have to attack him at one point, and if she were to start attacking now, how long will she be able to keep up without straining herself or be taken down by him first.
"Soon, you can't hide behind that barrier of yours forever, and you will be mine," he growled eyes, growing darker, overcome with possessiveness, and the clouding of his own desires as the place itself continued to fuel Shippo.
Kagome had to drop the barrier, seeing no choice in what she was about to do as much as it pains her deeply and that her energy was already nearly gone. Her eyes silently begging as she tried to prolong it as possible, praying for the miracle that sense would come back to him, and dreading the thing that she would have to do. It was never easy, attacking someone that she loves so much, but in circumstances like this, she was not really given much of a choice by him. Closing her eyes as Kagome aimed for an attack, she knows that it was one mistake that she would have to pay dearly soon enough, and one that Sesshoumaru will be putting her through the demonic level of training all over again for not putting what she had learnt into good use.
Shippo growled in a low predatory way, his lips twisting into a grin of victory as he cornered Kagome, ready to take her by force. There were just too many openings that he was being given by her, and though there was no thrill in the chase of his 'prey' at least one thing he was sure of, and that is that she was going to be his soon as he marks her.
Fear welled up in her as Kagome tried to look for alternative ways in getting out of her current situation, but the weight of the other souls that were poisoning Shippo slowly, were also eating at her and it was painful to endure. Killing anyone else would have been easy had she not known him or her well or long enough to understand them, and this is Shippo, the one she had watched grown up. Killing him is something that she could not bring herself to kill even in dire situations like this. Kagome's body was slowly weakened as she felt him slamming her hands to her side in a stretched out manner as though she was about to be crucified, and weak against his hold.
There was little that she could do to possibly buy herself more time, and perhaps one of the stupidest things to as she concentrated on gathering her power to do a purification on him without killing Shippo, and she fear for the worse of it happening, especially in her current position.
"I'm so sorry," she whispered out in a strangled manner as she tried to push him away, her powers now at her hand as hear him scream out in fury at what she had done.
He growled, eyes already red as his body contorted to rapidly transform into the form of a fox jaw lengthening, ready to snap at her as saliva dripped to the ground. There was little power and energy that she had left when Kagome felt the red fox lowered it's massive head to growl warningly in her face as she felt the hot air of his breath in her face, scaring her when she saw his jaw opening to lick the junction of her neck. Should Shippo want, he could easily snap her head off in one bite, and it will not be pretty. Kagome raised her hands before of her to try pushing him away with the remaining energy that she had left, knowing it will be futile, even if it bought her some more time.
Just as she felt herself falling already saying her goodbyes in her head, she heard the loud angry howl before being overtaken by the darkness as she felt her body hitting the cold hard surface, already numb to the pain and coldness. Her mind registered of the sounds that were going around her, as did some of her senses, fueling her imagination as though she was experiencing it herself and acting it out to try doing something about the situation. And yet, things were happening around her and it felt as thought what she was 'doing' did nothing to help ease the situation.
Sesshoumaru was seeing red, but like what Tony Stark was seeing at the sight of her lifeless body. It brought back too many memories to him and again it felt as though his anxiety attack was going to happen again, but no, his anger was what took over him and made him make his attack at the now inhumanly transforming Shippo into a gigantic animal that he could not explain at the moment.
There were too many possibilities, but what enrages him the most was of the sight of Kagome laying unconscious and that animal standing over her ready to snap at her already unconscious body. Rationality eluded him for the first time, recklessness clouded his judgment as Tony attacked with his suit to be swiped back down to the ground hard with a giant paw swinging his way. However before he could react to launch another attack, a white dog of magnificent now attacked the giant red fox, snapping and biting at the other's tail. There was hardly much of a clear shot for him to aim his bullets and ammo for, not when they were moving so quickly that it was making a clear shot for the fox difficult.
"Take her away," Tony heard a loud growling voice entered his ears as he looked around for the sound itself. It was rather startling as Tony asked for the source of it through JARVIS, his mind still running plans, body ready to move into action again.
"Sir, a clear shot is now open,"
"Take it JARVIS," was his command as Tony stood to take aim with his ammos ready to fire at the hind leg of the giant fox that was snarling and snapping away at the larger dog.
"Take her away NOW Stark!" came the commanding voice that demanded nothing but obedience ringing through his ears and mind, causing him to almost cringe at the loudness of it.
Tony did not follow through with the strict instruction that he was given by Sesshoumaru's cold voice until he took a shot watching as the bullet hit his mark. The giant red fox reared it head upward in a loud howling growl to the skies as it turned its blood red eyes in his direction, but that was just the opening that Sesshoumaru needed before attacking at the other's jaw forcing it onto the ground on its' back. Tony did not bothered to stay there to watch as he quickly made his way to Kagome's side, checking for some signs of her being alive.
"STARK!" again the voice roared dangerously loud into his ears that it rang rather annoyingly to giving him a headache with it.
"Keep your tail up Lassie," Tony mumbled in annoyance, moving to scoop Kagome into his metallic arms, the growl was much louder and Tony winced as he heard it rattling through his bones. It was then that he knows that Sesshoumaru heard what he had said as though he was just standing beside of him.
"Move," was all that he heard as Tony's body and armor obeyed that order, flying away and up into the sky with Kagome in the safety of his arms, or so he thought.
However what he had not expected, was the incoming attack of a charging giant red fox with more tails that it should have chasing after him even in the air. And what he could consider as a thankful factor was that the giant white fluffy dog was on his side and not against him.
Even more so, he fears for Kagome as her current accessible vitals are somewhat off as mentioned and diagnosed by JARVIS, it scares him that it could be worse, but at the moment they have to outrun a particular hostile 'mutated' animal.
"JARVIS, release the fireworks," he issued the command, more concentrated on safely carrying Kagome and at a safety level without harming her body any further as sparks and lights were released to distract the fox from their trail though it was more of a cover up for the moment to cause him to rear away.
Nothing will happen to you, Tony thought, unsure if it was to reassure himself or a silent prayer to whichever God that is listening to keep her alive and safe to come back to him.
A/N:
To the Readers
Apologies to all of you for the delay in update for this fan fiction. I've just been too busy with so many minor details to my current client and the scheduling for next year's own line up, looks like i will not be able to keep my new year's resolution for this year, and will have to continue it until the next. Though it also did not help that I keep having new fan fiction ideas that needs to be written out and increase the list of works that are still unfinished or even come close to the middle.
I hope that you guys enjoy this new update and will no doubt see that this fan fiction is soon to come to an end. I will try my best not to disappoint with the ending or follow up to this chapter and give you something to cling onto a little bit longer than usual. If anything, please let me know of your views if you are keen to write me a review to this fan fiction, if not, I hope that you enjoy it and have yourself a great month. Take care!
To Spastic Freak
Hello! My apologies for the delay in the new chapter, just finished part 1 of 2 of a recent job that a client had requested. Work is just getting hectic with so much follow up to do. Though I do hope that you enjoy this new chapter of this fan fiction that will soon be coming to an end as well. I do hope that you enjoy this new chapter though, it may be a little messy, but I will sort it out soon within this month once I've more time on my hand.
I did thought of that as well, but even I am starting to see that some of my readers whether they write it down or voice it out in their own mind about the direction that it is going. I find it like rather OOC or becoming trashier in the bad way than it being in the manner of what I had originally thought for it. Another reason why I am contemplating on the better choice for it since it's rather...hmm lacking?
I so understand where you are coming from, though sadly for me this will most probably not be a down time in the hotel if I were still working there, might be a peak period instead, then again at the moment this is still a peak period for my own venture at the moment, guess it does not make much of a difference for me sadly. I've read your latest fan fiction, "Adversity & Ataraxia", and I must say, it is really intriguing and interesting. Sorry for not posting a review there as these past few weeks I had only time to read a few minutes before resuming back to work on more details and other things. I hope to read more of it and maybe post a better review once things have died down for me in three weeks or so (hopefully).
Hmm I guess getting a therapist to call ahead would be an ideal however if the said person has no known records and prefer to keep it that way, I guess some hotel might not be that keen on having a scene on their hands if they can avoid it, sadly the hotel I worked at formerly had a terrible case that even they could not avoid and ended up in Court for it. Though they should most probably sent up security and their own doctor on hand as well to take precaution, but hmm well I guess I did neglect on that detail whilst writing that part, I'll try to keep it in mind next time when I do write such scenes again though!
Haha my self-esteem for my own writing is pretty low, so I guess it did not come across to me as something great or good or even interesting, but more of haphazardly a mere average passing mark. I am really glad however that you do read the other fan fiction as well. Looking forward to chatting with you for sure! Take care now and have yourself a great December!
