Chapter 19: Conflicting Interest

Tony flew them away from the chaos, leaving things behind to Sesshoumaru to handle, and much as he wants to make sure that the fox suffered, Kagome is of the highest priority now. And he's more than worried about her current condition and the fearful possibilities of her sustaining internal injuries.

"Sir, the Lady's temperature is dropping and her heart rate is increasing as we speak," Tony cursed silently as he sped away, going faster than he could imagine as he raced to the nearest hospital where he rushed her into the building.

"Sir, we have an incoming from the back and gaining speed,"

"Deploy smoke screen now JARVIS," he commanded, flying lower worried that her condition might become increasingly dangerous due to the altitude and exposure up there.

"Stark, land her down now in the forest clearing," again he heard it booming through his head as he checked with JARVIS of the disturbance, but instead got a reply again that there was nothing registered of the voice or any sound but himself and the other influencing factor outside that was man-made and not human.

He was starting to get annoyed as he drew up an image of whoever it was after him from behind at the moment. It was the giant white dog known as Sesshoumaru and he of all person was not the one that he wants to deal with at the moment, not especially when Kagome's well being is now at stake.

"Land now Stark!"

"Again with the demand, Kagome needs attention now and I'm getting her to the hospital, dog," that earned him a loud thundering growl and he was once again knocked off course and sent dropping down the sky as he tried getting his flight skills up and running again.

All the while flying down, he had nearly lost hold of Kagome because of that rough bump off course. He hugged her unconscious body tightly against his suit hoping to use his body to cushion hers if he did not regain his flight. Tony growled when he landed on the ground with Kagome safely in his arms as he checked her over before safely setting her down against somewhere comfortably.

"What is your problem!? Can't you see that Kagome needs immediate attention like NOW?!" Tony practically shouted that into Sesshoumaru's face with his appearance being more human now.

"Leave Stark, she'll be well taken care of," Sesshoumaru told him, pushing the other aside as he walked towards her, but was instead blocked by Tony.

"Leave or I will make you wish that you are dead," was the only warning that Sesshoumaru gave to him accompanied by his ever so deadly glare that promised nothing but what he had said.

"No, you leave her alone ice age, I'm taking her to see the hospital now," Tony said shoving the daiyoukai away roughly.

Sesshoumaru growled out already losing his patience with Tony, if they were in the past, the human male before him would have been dead the first time they meet, Kagome was an exception, and something that he had come to acknowledge many years later into her own adventure. His claws glowed it's ominous acid green, as he dug his claws into the armor in which Tony wore, creating holes in it, melting the metal as though it was cotton candy.

"I grow impatient of your impudence human, you will release the Miko this instance and disappear from our view before you disappear," he growled, pushing past Tony as he knelt down to check on Kagome's condition before taking her into his arms with glare at the human male and disappearing from sight with his youkai speed.

As always, not being one to take to commands or threats that easily, Tony gave chase, but cursed in midflight when he saw that he was being chased and blocked off by various factors. One mainly being his armor's is malfunctioning, something that he did not foresee happening this early. Another was the issue of tracking them down, Sesshoumaru's trail had somehow disappeared off his radar, something that had made him both puzzled and frustrated at the same time. After all the hard work of getting to Kagome and winning her over, he did not want to risk losing her again, not especially to someone who seem to have some mother complex or sister complex.

Tony's every fiber and being of his were all fired up in wanting nothing more than to get Kagome back, he was not interested in sitting back and waiting for her, or let her get away like he did with Pepper, however now he started to question about that relationship with Pepper as well. She has always been his pillar of support, especially when she has always been taking care of him more than he did her. For all his recklessness and sometimes stupidity, Pepper had to clean up after him, especially when he ruins the image of the company and himself or when he was usually accused of doing something that he was innocent. She somewhat understand him at times, and put up with him more often than the other, their love for one another is mutual, but it was all just too convenient in a way.

Convenient that she was always there, a person that he could easily trust to not only take care of his business and get things done, but also to take care of him. And when she became his girlfriend, she was all those and more, but the click that he felt with Kagome was never there when he was with Pepper. It was beyond that he realized, even when they were having sex or making love, it was a level deeper than when with Pepper. He may come across as more uncaring and a fool with losing so many things that he was lucky to be granted in life, but when his time with Pepper came to an end, Tony realized that he wanted to cling to her for the normalcy and constant that she had created in his life.

When Kagome had entered into his life, it almost scares him, but reminded him mostly of what was missing with his own life. She gave him much more than just shaking up his life, but given to him more answers that he had to explore than just merely having it given to him. Kagome changed him, for the better he hopes, however she can be really infuriatingly confusing at times as well. Though the main thing still remains that she was everything that most love story have depicted and parts of it more complicated than it sounded. Not that Pepper was a person that he despises, but after meeting Kagome and getting to know her over time, he felt the bond the they have and the way that she compliments him in various ways. It was something hard to describe, but they just 'click'.

"Sir, there are some technical difficulties in the suit's response,"

"Really JARVIS," Tony said dripping with venomous sarcasm as he landed nearby where he had without a choice but to get out of his suit. Not wanting to risk further damage of the suit, not especially when he is in another country and far away from his workshop.

"Send a back up JARVIS, and track down the location of Kagome and Sesshoumaru now," he practically growled, stepping out of his suits as he inspected the damaged done by supposed nails, but instead saw where he thought were mere scratches to turn out to be holes and a few broken connections which seemed to have been melted.

Whatever Sesshoumaru was aside from a giant dog was something that he would have to find out further whether or not it kills him and to help him better protect Kagome against. Now he just needed to get to her side quickly, before anything else happens, and it was already making him anxious that they disappeared so easily. With his new suit on the way and hopefully with the information that he needed by then was going to take him to her side if not he might actually die from anxiousness and go over the edge with too many emotions.

How he could just so easily lose her within the week or in a day was something that was starting to get to him. Maybe he should place a tracker or something on her when he get her back, at least this way he feels more assured knowing of her location and safety at all times. It may sound like one of the most insane thing to do, but love do make one go insane and do stupid things.

"Sir, the search for Ms. Higurashi and Mr. Taisho are a blank," said the A.I. as Tony started to do his own search with sets of instructions to JARVIS to do whilst he did a few quick assumptions and analysis of their potential current whereabouts.

Thank you! Glad to be back for the time being, sadly there are more things to settle before this year is over. Haha thanks, though I can't say for my other fans, but I guess they have a new chapter to read up to before it gets slow again. I have not watch Hotel Babylon, though I did watch Vegas, really fun show if you have not watch it yet, somewhat similar to Hotel Babylon (from what I read in the synopsis), though I will add it onto my watchlist once I've more time to!

That's really great to know, I remember one of my older fan fics that I had written well ended her being so OOC that it is rather hard to redeem from it since it's already so near the end and so full of random throw in. (Ah...the younger years when I was more free and without much thought) I think i've too many backlogs on my own originals sadly, pity they will not write themselves as well, I wonder if I will just like disappear and leave so many unfinished fan fic and stories. Rather depressing thinking about it...hmmm

I think that it is really great to see you writing a more different approach to the crossover in "Adversity and Ataraxia", interesting to the boot. Drabbles or not, every time I reached the last words I'm like "Omg why you do this?!" hahaha, can't say that it's not addictive, but always on the edge and waiting for more! Cute graphics Spyro the Dragon has, I'm more hmm watching webseries, or doing more work, or just playing with some game called "Knights N Squires" on my phone.

Nah, don't be sorry about it, it's a choice and path in live that I've chosen so sticking to it thick or thin is parts and parcel of life as well. And Marriot is really a big company as well! I used to work for a small niche boutique type hotel, most definitely very different in terms of the scale of things that you will have to handle. Though I thought that your hotel will pay you better for you to not need to take on so many part time or freelance work. Haha I'm trying to leave a mark, it's a long process, but will every thing is an experience.
