Inuyasha crossover Iron Man
Chapter 20: Between Realities
She looks so lovely in a vision of white and gold, walking down the aisle in the arms of her mother and Sesshoumaru by her side as they handed her hand over to his. Tony could feel her hand shaking ever so slightly as she gave him a nervous smile and eyes so filled with warmth that tempted him to just sweep her away and to their honeymoon early.
Vows were exchanged as tears were free flowing that day from just about everyone, Tony could not help but feel so full of love, now that he finally have her by his side. His happiness was outwardly shown upon his face as he could not help but smile the whole day like a Cheshire cat. Just as they were about to seal their wedding with a kiss, Tony would suddenly awaken by nothing in particular as he looked up to the ceiling and then to glance briefly at the empty space beside of him in bed. A space that he wished Kagome would share with him.
The dreams that he had the past month or so were just about all relating to her, and a possible of their own happy ending together, but sometimes they were also nightmares of her. Since meeting her, Tony realized his nightmares were less often and more peaceful, however since the day that she was unconscious and nearly being killed or eaten by a really large fox known as Shippo Gitsune, it fueled his dreams for the worse.
Back then, it took Tony practically ages before he was able to track them down, or at least track Sesshoumaru down and with a lot of pestering and skillful hacking on the side to get the information that he wanted. For days, Kagome was in a self-induced comatose state where she lay in one of his rooms peacefully asleep and watched over by the overbearing male.
Tony was torn at the sight of her, yet felt a certain peace watching her in sleep. It scares him, not knowing if she will ever awaken from her current state. When Tony fell asleep by her side at times, he could not see her in the dreamscape that he often stumbled into in the past. Sesshoumaru had at first argued with him reasonable loud and for damn long to get him away from his territory, but in the end nothing could waver from a monthly visit which he was only allowed under the supervision of the overbearing male.
Parties, work and fighting to save the World a little at a time were his distraction to not think about her or the fears of his from rising. Months passed by and yet Kagome still remained within her coma. Her work were passed to Sesshoumaru to handle, with the excuse to the company that she was away searching for new potentials and businesses to venture into, expand, as well as setting it up. That was as far as he was told to keep the story to if anyone had asked, and nothing more. Tony had tried asking for more information into it, but he was instead told to get out of Sesshoumaru's house before walking away with instructions to a staff to chase him away.
He was slowly becoming acquainted with the people that had the duty of chasing him away and taking care of Kagome as he found more things about her likes and dislikes, though at a very slow pace. Tony had spent time wandering around New York sometimes, walking into shops, or even merely window shopping and buying things that reminds me of Kagome or feels that it will suit her. His house was quickly slowly filled with things that he wanted to gift her with, and had placed them all into a room next to his.
Every time that he takes a visit to Taisho house hoping to catch him unaware, or away in fact, he would see the domineering male awaiting him inside with his laptop opened on his lap as he typed away on it without so much as an acknowledgement to his appearance, maybe except for a very resounding growl of displeasure. If it were not for the fact that Kagome was the only thing at the moment keeping them both at each other's throat did they keep a distance from one another. It has already been soon long since Kagome was in that state, soon to reach a year since the incident, and it was not at all bothering Sesshoumaru it seemed, "Cold hearted bastard," he mumbled beneath his breath, as he stayed by Kagome's side unaware that said person heard it clearly.
"Hurry awaken my Sleeping Beauty, there's too many things that I want to tell you," Tony said as he held onto one of her hands within his own, placing it against his cheek.
Everyday, Tony hated Shippo for putting her into the state that she was in, he had offered on countless occasion to hire the best doctor in the world to come take a look into her condition, but instead Sesshoumaru rejected his offer too coldly and for him to leave yet again. It was more than apparent to Tony that Sesshoumaru cared for her deeply if not he would not have been there by her side practically all the time when possible, aside from keeping up his own appearance.
Knowing that Shippo Gitsune was shipped far away with supervision, according to Sesshoumaru, and something else that he did not really catch, was something that Tony was not really satisfied with. He wanted nothing more than to see him suffer and rot somewhere than to have him shipped away for a long time. If it had not been for the interference of Shippo Gitsune and for the kidnapping of Kagome they would never have been in that situation, or with her being in a coma, and not waking from it.
Kagome was more than drained from the lack of her energy after exerting herself too much. In her dreamscape, she could live her life as she deemed it to be, happily without interferences or to deal with sudden confessions to which she had no idea how to reply or broach the subject. In fact here, she was safe from the outside world where she had to come to face two particular people that she is currently trying to avoid. Her heart knows who it has chosen, but fear the worse from Shippo. Prolonging the time period in where her conscious currently resides is perhaps one of the best place to escape to, yet her heart aches every time her mind is awake and tuned in to the outside world where she would sometimes hear Sesshoumaru or Tony speaking to her.
It had already been months, but Kagome showed no sign of waking any time soon, and it was starting to scare Tony on the possibility that she will not wake forever. He feared for the worse of losing her to the coma that could be a permanent thing or perhaps the consequence to it that resulted in her delay from awakening.
His visit was almost always the same, bringing little things for her, telling her of something interesting that had happen, and always remaining well past the late timing and annoying Sesshoumaru with the late night before leaving the manor.
"Miko, it is time for you to stop running away, you're being troublesome," was the last few thing that Sesshoumaru said before closing the door to her current room as he left the household staff to tend to her.
Kagome heard him well, and knowing that he was right, but wanted more time to rest. She had been asleep for months already, and a few more weeks or days was not going to hurt her as she let herself avoid the matter of Tony Stark and Shippo a little while more. Just a little while more, she thought to herself as she slipped further into the deeper recess of her mind.
A/N:
To the Readers
I guess most of you will be expecting this as a last chapter, guess I wanted to explore a little more before ending this. I hope that you enjoy this new chapter, and thank you all so much for supporting this fan fiction that I have written, take care and have a great week.
Hello Spastic Freak!
I find that it is sad they had to end that series as a cliffhanger, rather sad. I'll start on that series one I've finished White Collar. Suits is a great series as well, or even Mad Men, though I guess it can be a bit dull when it comes to Mad Men. I've nothing much in my office since it's a home office for now, maybe I'll get one in a year or so when I start hiring.
I get where you are coming from, though sometimes death can be a great inspiration as well, as like a form of tribute of sort or in some other manner, not that I mean it in a bad way. My childhood favorite I think would be "Lady and the Tramp", "Cinderella" and "Pocahontas", I started later than you at age 16, guess I was too shy to write back then until that age when I started finding out more about .
Thanks, that's a confidence boost for me actually. Yea it is, to be able to explore her personality, though I guess we are all critiques with our own pet peeve how a character should develop, not that many will agree with what we do. Yeah sadly we will never know how Rumiko Takahashi would have developed her personality or have her crossover with other series etc. I think my writing is becoming stagnant, or went backwards in some chapters/paragraphs, consistency does not seem to be in me.
I'm really glad that you enjoyed the chapter and fan fic so far, it's almost sad that these are all coming to an end so soon. Hope that work is not getting too heavy or too much for you to handle at the moment. Take care and have a great week!
