Inuyasha crossover Iron Man
Chapter 21: Ageless

"Your hair has grown out, it looks good longer," Tony said with a sigh, but enjoy the silkiness of her hair threading through his fingers as it brought back to him nostalgic memories of when they were together in bed, and how it would sometimes tickle his against his skin.

"Leave Stark, I do not want you lingering her longer least your stench starts to cling to my household," Sesshoumaru said from the door way, walking in a slow predatory manner as his eyes held a lack of emotion and a vast depth of coldness.

"Look here dog, I've been here for less than 10 minutes and already you are chasing me away," Tony said angrily as he stood up with such ferocity that his chair fell backwards to the ground with a loud 'thump'.

"Again with the growli…urk…"

"I've been more than tolerable human," Sesshoumaru snarled in his face, hissing as he dug his claws into his skin, already slowly choking Tony as his claws sinks it just beneath the surface enough to let a few dribble of blood trail to begin.

Again, Tony was held up by his throat, not something uncommon, and should be something that he is used to, except that he hates it still no matter the situation. "Mmnh…Sess-sshoumaru?" and Tony was saved, and dropped unceremoniously onto the ground as he rubbed where Sesshoumaru had grabbed his throat as he took gulp of airs to fill his lungs.

It was somewhat slow, but when it hit Tony, he scrambled onto his feet as he quickly went to Kagome side, pushing the daiyoukai aside without much of a care of the other's growling this time even though it does sound even more threatening. Kagome gave them both a weak smile, her eyes on Tony as he grabbed her hand, and bombarding her with various questions for her needs.

If given the strength to, she would roll her eyes at the questionings, she looked to her side table looking for water as she licked her already dry lips. "W- wa-ter…" she managed, feeling the pained dryness within her throat. She was tired despite the amount of rest that she had gotten, but at least now her energies are all back, now it was just a little rest in the real world and she should be just fine.

However that does not eliminate some of her problems, like that of facing those emotions of hers. And despite all the time that she was trying to prep herself, she still gets scared and unable to find her voice or how to put her thoughts into words as well. When Tony rushed out to grab her some water, leaving Sesshoumaru with her, "Now fix this," was his first order to her before walking out of the room as Tony rushed back in with the glass of water and nearly crashing into Sesshoumaru who glared at him.

"Here," Tony rushed to her, helping Kagome sit up slowly as she took his hand holding the glass to her lips and drank from it, coughing at the sudden rush of water that choked her for a moment.

Her eyes closed for a moment as she lay against the backrest of her bed, liking the silence between them even if it was somewhat of an uncomfortable one. Though before she could think of anything or sort off her thoughts, Kagome was crashed up against a solid warm body. "I'm so glad that you're back," he whispered into her ears, his emotions in his voice as she hesitated for a moment before bringing her hands up to return the hug.

"Marry me," he suddenly blurted out, to which Kagome instantly dropped her hands as she pushed him away, surprise in her eyes.

"You're being reckless,"

"Yes, I've come to realize that, but no, I want to be with you forever," he said not releasing his hold on her, and also because of his insecurity and need to know that she was truly there with him now.

"Forever is a long time Tony," she whispered, overwhelmed at what he was proposing, and the thought of another worry enter her memories of what she dared not mention.

"And Tony, you do not have Forever," she told him sadly, slowly sinking back down into her bed and closed her eyes.

"I'm tired Tony, let's continue another time," she whispered with her eyes closed as she drew the duvet up to her chin.

Tony was going to say something, but refrained from doing so as he placed a kiss upon her lips lightly and a whispered good night before sitting himself back down on the chair that he was occupying. Silently she was praying that he would leave her on her own for a while, and maybe given her more time to runaway if possible and disappear from his view.

Marriage, it was something that she did not expect from him, not this soon at least. Forever, was what brought up something that she never thought about until now, and it was something that she never thought to being a problem or even being in a relationship that might actually work out with her streak of luck. She had thought originally that she would be able to resist his charm, but it was sadly the opposite the more time that they spent together. This was one of the few reasons why she had wanted to stay in her temporal state of sleep, to avoid the complicated situation that she's been placed in.

Kagome fell back asleep sooner than she realize, with one more problem upon her mind. Tony watches Kagome as she fell back asleep once more, wanting to be there to see her when she first awaken, and the first thing that she sees. Though perhaps to was rather rash of him to have proposed to her when she had just awaken, maybe he should have given her a few days to get adjusted to finally being awake again.

Sesshoumaru heard the proposal when he was passing by the room with his sensitive hearing. Kagome always brings just about all sort of trouble, it was a good thing at least that it did not affect their business, mainly to her personal life. He left the two at it, not at all liking Tony Stark in person, not especially when Kagome is involved with an unreliable person like him. That he disapproved, but it was Kagome's life, the most he could do was to give her the necessary support should anything go wrong.

When she awakened, Tony was in the chair beside of her bed, fast asleep. Kagome observed the man sitting on it, he has aged almost significantly she realized, frown lines were somewhat more prominent, but then again she could have been wrong. She worry now, their match though might turn out great for business, and politics, but she knows deep down that it was impossible, aside from age being a fact, but for the most unnatural of facts.

Her rustling in bed to attempt sitting up, was heard as she turned her head to see Tony awakened wide-eyed and almost fearful as his eyes softens when looking at her. Guilt washed through not for the first time as Kagome allowed him to aid her in sitting up properly with pillows placed at her back to give her more comforts. A fresh cup of water was poured for her as he took a sit on her bed, each watching the other, causing Kagome to fidget a little from the discomforts of being scrutinized by the other.

None of them spoke as she settled herself comfortably, eyes close to rest whilst Tony merely just watch her, his eyes stormy as he gave her the silent comfort that she is now taking in. Though for Kagome she felt uncomfortable with how silent, and serious he seems to be that she refuse to look at him for that reason as well.

She was worried, how was she to tell Tony, or even to get these particular topics to begin. His silence was not really much of a comfort, and it showed upon her face as Tony asked her if she was alright, worry evident in his voice as he held onto her hands worry for her health. Again guilt ate at Kagome as she gazed into those puppy brown eyes belong to Tony that were eager and ready to serve her needs should she merely request for it. It was very unlike Tony, and she somewhat welcome it at the moment, but it was also because she was currently unable to do much except to rest up and regain her physical strength.

"I think that forever might be a problem," Kagome said, her voice wavering slightly as she tried to keep it casual, almost nonchalant in fact.

"Wh…Did the doctor say something?" he asked, suddenly fearful and the panic was returning to him with much worry about her health and condition.

"No," Kagome swallowed trying to form the right words to better explain what she meant to say.

"So it's nothing terminal then?" Tony asked with a lighter tone, a sigh of relieve escaped from his lips that he did not know he had been holding it in. For a moment he had thought the worse of her words.

"Nothing like that…" she said cautiously glancing at him as she chewed on her lower lips. "Our age…more specifically, your age…" Kagome hesitated, not sure how she should follow through with this, especially when this was sort of a huge secret that had kept them save for so long and away from the science laboratories.

"We're legal, unless you're saying about appearance wise,"

"No…It's not that," she said looking sideward, hesitant to tell him "I don't age like you,"

"Of course you don't, you Asians really have it good in genes when it comes to looking young," Tony replied rather oblivious to the meaning in which she was trying to bring across.

"That's not what I mean…" Kagome tried to correct him, but instead lost words for it as she looked at him almost painfully even if this situation would have been funny had it not been something serious. "What she meant to say Stark is that we're centuries old," said Sesshoumaru from the door way as he entered it, regarding Tony Stark with a cool demeanor while the other scowled at his appearance.

"We're not human Stark, and time does little to our appearance," he said, as the information sank into Tony who had a wide-eyed blank look to him as he looked between them two.

"So…you're aliens…"

Kagome refrained the urge to groan out at his grasp of the situation, "No, we're youkai, demons, immortals our aging process is somewhat stunted," she told him slowly.

It was not something that he should be finding odd, especially after Thor's appearance into their life. Yet it somehow affects him even if this still changes nothing. "So you're like Dorian Gray,"

Kagome frown at the reference looking at him oddly, but instead her sighed, "Sorry, a reference to a story of this male that suddenly became ageless because of a wish and a portrait," he mumbled out the explanation, forgetting for a moment of their culture difference.

She wanted to scoff at it, the reference was close to similar, but their downfall was a lot more tedious, almost like that of an Asgardian. "We're no different as compared to Thor and Loki, rather too similar minus a few facts," she told him, the topic at hand being a little more easier to approach, except that it was still somewhat more tedious to explain it further.

"I still do not see it hindering our wedding," he said jumping to the proposal that she had yet to respond to.

"Tony, we cannot be married," Tony looked at her blankly, at what she had just said, almost not believing what he had just heard.

What she said echoed in his head repeatedly.

A/N:

To the Readers
Hello all! If you are still reading this story, I'm really glad and thank you all so much for the support. I hope that you all enjoy this new chapter, and your week.

Take care and enjoy the time with your family this December, happy holidays and a Happy New Year to all of you!

To Spastic Freak
I'm surprised, I thought that during this time of the year will be a peak period for your hotel. It usually is for us here. Well we're in the same world of doing nothing but paperwork, I've invoicing and follow-up to settle fast as well. Wish that they will magically get themselves done though.

I was not shy about writing, but mainly for when someone find out about it, it is a lot easier to hide behind a pen-name and no one will ever know. I did the same as well! Well now there's wattpad and I'm planning on experimenting with an original story that I've been meaning to re-write, sadly now it is one it's 2nd chapter only. I've never really told my friends, except for maybe two, but they too never really bothered to find out the account name. Did a roleplay with one of them though, again a different name. I don't think I will EVER let anyone (not even the boyfriend) find out about any account. No actually I can believe you on that, I've dated my own boyfriend for about 4 to 6 years (? Can't really quite remember the years) but well, I never told him about my writings, or roleplaying or anything at all in fact. So yes we're actually in the same boat on that stand, so nope, not crazy at all hahaha. If not I'm just as crazy as you.

So glad that you had that reaction, it was exactly what I was aiming for actually, so glad that it came out right just basing it off on your reaction. Really glad that you like how it all played out, looks like I've found a way to extend the story just a short while more, especially when I realize that I never really address the issue of the age part and something else. I'd rather run away and disappear if I were her honestly. Always the easier path, especially when these things can become so sticky. Though I'm not too sure about this chapter somehow, feels a little off, or not well captured enough...

Wishing you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
