Author's Note: So here is the next part. Let me know what you guys think. I had already had this written, along with a few other chapters so updating shouldn't take very long for a little while.

"Guess what?" Ruthie said, bouncing on Martin's bed causing him to sit straight up in bed.

"Is it morning already?" Martin asked, disoriented and still groggy.

"No, silly. You just went to sleep about 15 minutes ago." Ruthie assured him, laughing as he flopped back down into his bed.

"Then why are you in here yelling at me? Do you have a death wish? Or do you just like to torture me?" Martin grumbled, rolling over so that he was facedown in the pillows.

"Neither. I've got something to tell you." Ruthie told him, reaching over and shaking him.

"Why can't you tell me in the morning?" Martin mumbled into his pillow, not moving.

"Because I can't wait that long. Now guess." Ruthie ordered, about to bust if she didn't share the news with him soon.

"No. I'm not guessing anything. You're just going to tell me and then let me go back to sleep." Martin shot back, his voice authoritative as he rolled over and looked at her with obvious impatience.

"Fine. Never-mind. I don't want to tell you now." Ruthie griped, as she started to get up from the bed.

"Over my dead body are you waking me up and then not telling me what it was that was so important that you woke me up for to begin with." Martin said, as he grabbed Ruthie by the waist and pulled her on top of him so he could keep her from leaving.

"Okay. I'll tell you. Just let me up." Ruthie tried, as she fidgeted in Martin's arms.

"Not until you tell me." Martin said, shaking his head and tightening his hold.

"When you let me up I will." Ruthie argued, failing to move in his iron-hold.

"You're not gonna win Ruthie." Martin said, beginning to smile at her stubbornness.

Ruthie didn't say anything this time so they both just laid there, listening to the tick of the clock on Martin's wall. Martin knew that Ruthie was stubborn but he also knew that he had a lot more patience than she did. So he knew that it wouldn't be too long before she would give up and just tell him.

Ruthie knew that she should just tell Martin the news. Hell, she had woken him up just so she could. But she didn't like that he always thought he could wait her out. She knew that he was tired still and she was hoping that would work to her advantage.

"You win." They both said simultaneously a few minutes later, causing them both to laugh.

"Simon's engaged." Ruthie shared, as she rolled off Martin and laid next to him.

"When did this happen?" Martin asked, rolling on his side so that he was facing her.

"Tonight. He just called and told me. He said he and Darla are going to Glenoak this weekend to tell my mom and dad." Ruthie informed him, her smile widening at Martin's surprise.

"Well your parents love Darla so I'm sure they'll be happy." Martin said, after a few moments of silence.

"That's what I told him. I mean I know that it's kinda sudden, but I think it's great." Ruthie said, closing her eyes as she envisioned the look on her parent's faces when they found out.

"Do you wanna go back for the weekend?" Martin asked, watching as Ruthie's eyes snapped open.

"Can we? I mean, don't you have games or practice this weekend?" Ruthie asked, her eyes beginning to dance with excitement at the possibility.

"Well I have a game Friday night but we could leave here Saturday morning and then come back in time for Sunday afternoon practice. We have Saturday off." Martin explained, laughing as Ruthie threw her arms around him.

"That sounds great. I can't wait to see everyone." Ruthie said happily.
