Chapter 26: Heart's Desire

Tony's heart pounded loudly against his chest as he felt the glimmer of hope that was in him growing into a flame with each step that he took, as he followed after them. His stopped abruptly mouth slightly agape at the scene before of him, Sesshoumaru kissing Ariana (who might possible be his Kagome), it was fierce one on his end, but Ariana was not responding to it. That was all the sign that he needed to go up to Sesshoumaru and pulling him off of her whose eyes went wide with guilt, fear and worry shining through it as Tony and Sesshoumaru stood glaring at one another with a growl of their own.

"Sesshoumaru," she whispered a soft warning to the Daiyoukai as Kagome laid a hand against his arm, wanting to draw him away from Tony before something worse happened again.

"Be gone Stark, your presence is not welcome here," Sesshoumaru infamous monotone voice cut through the tension like a blade his light golden honey eyes glaring at the other.

"I believe that the hostess and owner of this place have the right to say it, not you," Tony said, his head tilting in her direction, as he never broke eye contact with the Daiyoukai.

Kagome stood wide eyes with worry as her lips parted with in hesitance to address the both of them. Sesshoumaru had ordered her to kiss him, but being too shock at his request, she did not do anything when his lips were pressed against hers. It was cold at first but fast to warm up as he growled at her so silently to respond but did not, only for him to break apart to by Tony's appearance. He stood not too far off from them, eyes wide in shock as she felt guilt swept through her at the scene that he had stumbled upon. And then realization dawned upon her as to why he had told her to kiss him, all for the sake of throwing him off the possible suspicion that Tony might have of her being who she really is.

There was a rage bubbling in her as Kagome had to resist the urge to give the Daiyoukai a stinging slap. Her shock eyes turned towards Tony as she took a few steps away from Sesshoumaru only to have her grasp onto her arm to which she glared at, before sending him a jolt of her powers as the light glow of it touches her skin. He let go of his hold with a loud growl as Kagome moved towards Tony, defiantly, annoyed at what he was playing at.

"Mr. Taisho, you're overstepping the boundary," Kagome growled out annoyed at his behavior, "This is beneath you," She growled out in Japanese, letting slip of her pretense a little.

"Then we are in agreement," Tony says as he took her hand and stirred her away from the other rudely, but instead they were both pulled into her study that was not far from where they are standing.

"You will stay away from her," Sesshoumaru growled out in Tony's face as he pulled Kagome away from him as he pushed her behind of him.

"And you will cease these immediately this human," Sesshoumaru growled out to Kagome in Japanese to which she growled out in reply, annoyed and angry at what he had done as she throw it back into his face about it.

Tony was observing them both and the more that they argued in Japanese, the more she was showing even more similarities to Kagome as he saw the air around her sparked along her skin. He was sure that she was most definitely his Kagome and was more than overjoyed about it but sad and disappointed that she did not deem it important to tell him about it.

"Kagome," he whispered, sorrow in his voice as much as there are hurt in his eyes as he looked between them.

"…Tony…" she whispered knowing that the secret already out of the bag once she looked into his eyes.

Sesshoumaru noticed the change in mood and glared in annoyance at what was happening, it was not suppose to be like this, most especially not for Tony Stark to find out about her, or of their existence. Had she listened to him earlier and wiped off his memory cleanly, it would have been a lot easier, but the miko had finally fallen back in love and with a more than troublesome human that has one too many connection that he would have liked. He is a danger to them all and most especially himself.

"I knew that you were not dead, but you should have told me! An indication, something!" he shouted out in frustration the realization of it dawning upon him much heavier than he had expected, especially the hurt of it to his heart.

"I couldn't, it-" she began sadly, but was cut off immediately by Sesshoumaru who was more than displeased with the situation.

"You're unworthy, leave now Stark before I change my mind in showing mercy to the likes of you," he hissed out at the other demanding nothing but obedience from him.

"No! I've had enough coming from the likes of you getting in between of us all the time, this is between Kagome and I not you," he growled back defiantly his own anger rising to the surface, startling Kagome at his bravery to standing up against the old demon.

Before Sesshoumaru could say anything, Kagome stood forth, placing a hand on Sesshoumaru's arm, squeezing it in silent warning, as she looked him sharply, "I think Sesshoumaru, that he has what it takes to prove himself, we can always deal with the likes of Nick Fury and the rest when it comes to it. I too love this man despite of the obstacles," she whispered the last part softly, her eyes never leaving Tony's own brown ones as it widened at the later part of the sentence which she had just declared.

The side of his lips twitched upwards as Tony walked towards her, only to stop at the threatening growl coming from Sesshoumaru whose eyes now look more feral and much lighter than what he had expected. His bravery ends there as memories of what happened the last time in the forest in Japan flashes through his mind, and Kagome was just standing mere few steps away from him, in a whole different look, but in essence of personality wise, she is still very much herself.

"Sesshoumaru," Kagome growled out, her eyes hardened as she sparked the Daiyoukai with her own electrifying energy that can be deadly to his kind.

He stood back but eyes were shone red for a moment in warning of his rage and displeasure of being stood up against despite of the years that they had co-existed and lived together for so long. She was finally showing her claws for another male that she wants to support or stand next to.

"I told you once before Tony, that our lives is very different, as is our lifespan as well, I fear you might not want to be with me at one point of time, I'll outlive you in every way possible," she told him softly.

And continued after a slight pause, "And I did say before, if you were to find me again," she said trailing off when he came to suddenly stand before her, Sesshoumaru forgotten from the same room.

"Could I hear you say it again?" Tony asked mischievously as he snaked his arms around her waist, drawing her even closer to her body. Not one of them both noticed Sesshoumaru had disappeared from the study room to go back downstairs to join the other guests.

Knock… knock…

"Signora Caro, your guests are awaiting for you downstairs," drifted the voice of her ever fantastic housekeeper that helps her ever so diligently.

"Sì, sì Marianna, I'll be down shortly," Kagome called back out to her housekeep as Ariana, accent and all as her eyes never left Tony's own brown ones.

His eyes were shining for once with the love and affection that she can see, and insecurity, in it, but that was something that she will have to reassure him again soon enough. "So will there be more role-play fun in the bedroom soon?" he asked with a low purr to his voice as his eyes darkened with unhidden desire.

Desire for her that sent shivers of anticipation down her spine and the fluttering of countless of wings in her stomach. "They're missing me down there Tony, I best leave first," she said gently disentangling herself from his arms as she made a move to make sure that her appearance is flawless as she rushed to her room to do a light touch up of her makeup.

"So no quick tumble?" Tony asked with a pout to his lips, as he looked at her reapply the lipstick, licking his lips in anticipation at the thought of being able to recapture it again.

"Later Tony, I've guests downstairs," Kagome told him softly a light smile touching her lips as she slipped her arms around his neck to give him a light peck on his lips.

"No Tony, we can continue this later," Kagome said as she gently push him away, walking out of her room, "don't follow me so closely okay? Like maybe after 5 to 10 minutes later," she requested of him to which he complied with a softer smile but did as she had requested as he waited in her room for the time to pass.

Tony was feeling relieve at finally being able to find her, but there were still one too many insecurities that he has about her. And his unanswered anger as to why she had left him without saying goodbye or even so much as a hello for her being alive.

There was a lot of explaining on her part that she had to do, but it could be postponed for now.
