Hey! Sorry it's been so long, it's just that not that many people seemed to really be enjoying these oneshots... Nonetheless, I had a few guest reviewers, maybe the same one, reviewing a lot. So without further ado, here is Finniss #2
(Keep in mind that this was originally written by me as Catoniss but I realized I needed another Finniss story, so I changed the names.)
Finniss
I jolt awake from my dream, I was skiing and fell off the side of the mountain... A little bit of a blunt dream, but a terrible one nonetheless. I'm only worried because tomorrow my boyfriend, Finnick, and I drive the three hour drive to the ski resort. It will be my first time, he snowboards regularly but me? Hell no. I don't have the money, nor do I really have the skills.
I sigh and bury my face further in my pillow, well, Finnick's pillow... I'm at his place right now, so technically I'm in his bed. Even though I've been staying here almost every night for the past five months. Soon I'll move in for good, just a week and a half actually.
I lift my head only slightly to glance at the clock through my half lidded eyes, and I see that it's already five am. We are getting up in three hours to drive up to the mountain. I shiver in fear and nerves, but then I feel the heat the muscled body next to me is giving off, warming me with every second that passes in the chilly apartment.
I lay my head back down and turn over to face the man I'm lucky enough to call my own. Finnick's still sound asleep; laying sideways with his cheek pressed against the pillow. His lips are slightly open and are pursed from how he lays, and his eyes are closed gently and his hair is a beautiful mess. I chuckle almost silently and prop my head up on my elbow while I admire him and his handsome features.
He looks so innocent when he sleeps, all his features are softened, and he even stays in a slumber with a tiny smile on his lips. He's sort of the serious type of guy, walks around with much pride attached to him, although he doesn't smile too often. When I first met him, I never would have guessed he was the type of guy who rarely smiled. I still wouldn't today, for when he's around me there's always a smile lighting up his lips. Whether it's from laughter or just the tenderness of the moment, I never cease to see it around me.
I lift my hand and gently trace his jaw line, softly as not to wake him from his peaceful sleep. I feel the small amount of stubble on his chin, it's scratchy yet soft all at the same time. A mystery of how that works. My hand trails from there and rests softly on his cheek. A soft snore escapes him and I laugh lightly. His lips twitch up into a small smile unconsciously at the noise and he leans into my touch. I smile softly and begin to gently rub my thumb along his cheek bone.
I really got lucky with him. He says he's the the lucky one, but I think it's arguable. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me, and he happened only eight months ago. He was dining in the restaurant I worked at as a part time waitress, and he couldn't stop flirting with me. He was shy about it, which had showed me he was anything but a player. So naturally I gave in to his offer of a date, and it only got better from there.
I lean down a press the gentlest of kisses, a butterfly kiss, upon his forehead and lips as not to wake him. He didn't fall asleep until late last night, having a lot of work that needed to be done. He's only twenty four and he already manages a big business, I still waitress down at the local diner but on top of that I manage a gym.
His lips twitch only slightly from my kisses, but that same smile grows slightly as he cuddles closer to the pillows and to me. I remove my hand gently, and lay my head back down on my own pillow. I close my eyes and attempt to drift back off to sleep, and just before sleep overcomes my senses I feel a pair of strong and secure arms wrap around my waist and pull me against an equally solid chest. I can't help my own small grin that naturally forms as I snuggle closer to the man who holds my heart.
Short. But Hopefully sweet!
