Jim and Sophie stepped onto the bridge with Bones right behind them. The two walked to his Captain's chair, all the while aware that all eyes were on them as they walked closed together and held hands, trying to reassure each other. Coming to stand in front of his chair Jim decided not to sit as that would not only leave Sophie standing by herself but their guests would be arriving soon and they were both nervous as hell.
"Jim," Sophie whispered looking sideways at him.
"I know." He whispered back facing her. "Me too."
Moments later the door's to the bridge swoosh open causing both Jim, Sophie and everyone else to look towards them. Jim subconsciously pulled Sophie closer to him as Spock walked in followed by a man and young woman. The man looked to be about 20 years old with dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes while the woman or girl, was around the age of 15 or 16. She had dirty blond hair that half up and half down with green eyes. They both had civilian clothes on, jeans, t-shirts and jackets while they came to stand next to Spock.
Sophie let out a gasp when she saw who they were and turned to Jim to confirm what she saw when he nodded to her. The man and girl also stared wide-eyed at Sophie and Jim in slight shock at seeing them, alive and well.
"Captain this is Kevin Riley and Amanda Sata, and this is Captain Jam…" Spock started but both the Kevin and Amanda rushing forward towards Sophie and Jim abruptly cutting him off.
"JT! FEE!" Amanda exclaimed before she tackled Sophie and Kevin came forward to wrap Jim in a tight hug.
"Kev." Jim breathed out hugging him back as Kevin buried his face in Jim's neck and Jim put his hand on Kevin's head trying to reassure him. "Shh Kev. I'm here." He whispered trying to hold back his own tears. He glanced at Sophie and noticed she was having a similar problem with Amanda and gave her a small-relived smile.
"Fee!" Amanda said again only it came out as more of a sob.
"I know Mandy. I'm here." Sophie replied softly hugging the girl to her tightly while Amanda cried into her chest.
The entire crew of the bridge was staring at their Captain and Lieutenant hugging these two guests. They were shock and didn't know what to say or do in this situation; even Spock didn't know what to do. The only one who seemed to not be shocked was Bones, considering they told him, while he stood there behind them with a small smile on his face. A few more moments went by and both Jim and Sophie released Kevin and Amanda taking a step back to look at them.
"JT!" Amanda exclaimed softly going towards Jim who picked her up and spun her around hugging her. Sophie grabbed Kevin's hand and tugged him to her hugging him tight, before pulling back to look at him.
Kevin had tears in his eyes as he looked at Sophie. "I…God Fee." Kevin said letting the tears fall.
"I know Kev." She replied whipping his tears away as they fell. The two were so caught up that they didn't hear the conversation with Jim and Amanda until they heard a hard slap.
Turning quickly they saw Jim holding his cheek and Amanda glaring up at him with tears coming down her cheeks steady. Spock moved forward to stop Amanda but Jim intervened.
"It's alright Spock." Jim said holding up his hand to stop him. "I deserved it."
"Hell yes you did! We thought you and Fee were dead!" Amanda shouted at Jim through her tears as she hit him again this time on the chest repeatedly.
Jim quickly grabbed her hands to stop her from hitting him as she kept crying. She struggled to get away from him and started towards Sophie and Kevin but Jim quickly wrapped his arm around her waist before she got to far causing her to wince in pain and stop struggling.
"Jim." Bones said looking at Amanda with worry. "Let go, she's hurt."
Jim let go and stepped back as Amanda hugged herself still crying.
"Mandy." Sophie said softly coming towards the girl and kneeling down in front of her. "Are you hurt?"
Amanda's eyes went wide and looked from, Sophie to Jim to Kevin and back. Tears still streaming down her cheek she moved towards Kevin but Sophie stopped her.
"Mandy either you tell them or I will." Kevin told her firmly.
"You wouldn't." Amanda said shocked.
"They have a right to know. Plus they can help you, I've tried and I can't but JT and Fee they can." Kevin told her softly.
"Mandy who's hurting you?" Jim asked her gently well aware they were making quite a scene on the bridge but knew that Kevin and Amanda were more important at the moment.
She sniffed again and took a deep breath trying to steady her voice, "My foster parents." She whispered looking at Jim and Sophie.
Jim clenched his fists together and lot out a sigh, "How often?"
"Once or twice a week." She mumbled to Sophie so only she could hear.
"Soph." Jim asked.
"Like you before it happened." She replied referring to Frank before Tarsus.
Jim sighed and took a seat in his chair, trying not to think about how he had failed Amanda and Kevin and 3 that were gone. "It's not your fault JT." Amanda said coming to stand in front of his chair. "And I'm sorry I slapped you."
"It's alright Mandy." Jim replied smiling leaning towards her. "You had ever right to be mad at us."
"I know but…"
"Mandy it's alright sweetie. Really JT's had much worse than that, he's just a big baby sometimes." Sophie told her standing up next to Kevin again.
"Thanks Fee." Jim replied sarcastically looking at her amused. "Love you too."
Sophie stuck out her tongue causing, "Love you more" she replied smiling making Kevin and Amanda smile again.
Jim laughed before looking around the bridge realizing they were all staring still, "Alright here's what we are going to do. Fee, I want you to take Mandy and Kevin to my ready room and maybe you could look them over Bones?"
"Sure thing kid." Bones replied.
"Whoa." Kevin said interrupting. "Who is Bones and why is he going to look at us?"
"One because Mandy here needs to be looked at, and two I'm guessing neither of you have seen a doctor since we were all released from the hospital. Correct?"
Both Amanda and Kevin nodded. "We figured." Sophie added sharing a glance with Jim. "We hadn't gone to one either until we joined Starfleet and they made us, but before that we always would patch each other up. But you see him?" she said nodding towards Bones. "He's the CMO of the Enterprise and one of JT and I best friends. He patches JT and me up all the time. We both trust him, alright?"
"Ok." Mandy replied with a nodded from Kevin. "Will you be there with us though?"
"Of course." Jim told her. "But right now Fee's going to take you to my office with Bones alright? And I'll join you in 10 minutes."
"Ok." Kevin replied taking Mandy's hand.
Sophie smiled and took Mandy's other hand before leaning down to Jim who was still seated in his chair and kissed him lightly on the lips, "Love you." She whispered.
"Love you to Soph." he said kissing her again quickly.
"Are you two together?!" Amanda asked while Kevin went wide-eyed.
"Come on you can ask us questions later." Sophie said laughing and pulling them towards his ready room with Bones right behind them.
"But!" Amanda exclaimed as they stepped into his ready room shutting the door behind them, leaving Jim sitting in his Captain's chair and the entire bridge staring at him.
"Captain?" Uhura said speaking first. "Care to explain."
Jim chuckled and turned towards her. "Once we're in warp I'll explain, but I don't to stay here too much longer. Mr. Spock, is Scotty and the rest of the away team back?"
"Yes Captain they got back 10 minutes ago." Spock replied.
"Good. Mr. Sulu, take us out and set course for the Bajoran system." Jim told his helmsman.
"Yes sir." Sulu replied.
"Everyone else get back to your stations please so we can leave." Jim ordered.
Five minutes later the Enterprise was back in space and had went into warp headed for the Bajoran system.
"I've got a few thing to take care of obviously before I can talk to you all. I'll call you in my ready room when we are ready. I want my officers in there plus Scotty so you could inform them Uhura that would be great." Jim told the bridge and his officers being; Spock, Uhura, Chekov, Sulu, and Scotty.
"Mr. Spock you have the Conn." Jim said before exiting the bridge to his ready room.
