First of All I want to apologize for not updating for like 2 months, I went to a road trip and writing had become impossible, since I left my computer at home. In return I´ll write a long chapter this time. Thanks to all of you :)
Chapter 14: The Plan
I was headed to a white room with a single bed. I waited patiently until someone else came to the room and told me to lay on the bed. They introduced a gigantic needle into my arm, "Just lay still dear, this won´t hurt…yet" What did she meant by "Yet"? I had no time to think about it. My left arm started to burn, it felt as if I had been shot several times in the same spot. I tried not to cry, I didn´t wanted to look weak. I just bit my lip until it was bleeding. "It´s over dear" she said with a weak smile. She picked another substance, the sedative, I suppose. I was not worried, Gale had replaced it with vitamins so I wouldn´t fall unconscious, she was about to inject it, but something stopped her from doing so. She took a deep smell from it and frowned, "This is not a sedative…" my eyes grew wide in fear, she found out. She threw the substance to the trashcan near the bed and injected the real sedative.
It was working really fast, 5 seconds have already passed, I needed to do something, before I dozed off.
6…. Katniss come on!
7…. Katniss do something!
8… Don´t sleep!
9…Do it for Peeta!
10… I grabbed the needle and literally ripped it out of my arm. I was bleeding, the nurse went mad, she tried to calm me down, I was feeling dizzy, my legs felt like jelly. The nurse was shouting at me, I injected the needle to her, and she dozed off instantly. I was feeling dizzier and dizzier as time passed.
I thought I was going to make it to the door when suddenly I fell to the floor, I was about to doze off when something stopped me.
I began to throw up, it was mostly the liquid injected to me, after it was over I felt relieved, I was alright again.
After I threw the needle away I probably started bleeding the sedative and throwing up saved me from it too.
It was just a moment so peaceful I almost forgot about Gale, I ran out of the hospital wing to search for him. He was about to leave when I got there. He´s got a special elite hovercraft, I jumped in and we left. "Where are we going?" I said, "To the secret headquarters, in district 13".
I frowned, the thought of going to district 13 again made me angry. The rebels had already taken over, so practically every normal people who lived there where gone, it was turned a super-secret base everyone knew about. Besides I thought it was a long way from the Capitol to district 13.
"How long will we be here?" I said, it was probably 18 hours to go. Gale laughed, "5 minutes, Katniss" he said, I went just like what? "Katniss, portals are faster, this hovercraft has one" he said.
I just nodded and hoped it wouldn´t hurt, like most things did.
And indeed in 5 minutes we were at the entrance of district 13.
I hated the feeling…..
Last time I entered as a hero and left as a mental disturbed woman….Now I entered as a fugitive and I wondered if I was going to come out.
