A/N So, here's the next chapter, guys! It's not bad word wise. Somewhere in the upper 1400's without the author's note, I think. And I actually managed to update soonish! That's always a good thing!
Thanks to all of you who reviewed! Here's the responses that I am still too lazy to PM.
To PrincessCarly28: Thank you for the cookie! I love those things… And I'm glad I made you laugh. :) And, to everything else in your review, I say: That's for me to find out, and you to find out just after I do! ;D
To FairytailXNalu11: Good. I'm glad that you like the story, and I really like it when I make people laugh!
To kelpiejh: That's for me to know and you to find out! Even if I did just figure it out, like, two days ago… "-.-
To Dog's Paw Burning In Hot Ash: …You have a rather depressing penname. That aside, I'm blushing! Thanks!
To Stevensgirl1: I'm glad! It makes me happy when people review saying they can't wait to read the next chapter! They make me want to write faster! *not so subtle hint to everyone else* Anyways, thank you!
Without further ado, I give you chapter seven!
Previously
For some reason, I fell asleep thinking about the pink-haired man with the strange cat that I had met several hours earlier. Natsu Dragneel. That really does sound familiar…
The next morning, I woke up very early for no apparent reason. I sat in bed with my eyes closed for a minute, then I opened them and glanced at my alarm clock.
It's only six. What am I doing awake at six in the morning on a day where I don't have work?
Groaning, I rolled over and curled up. Plue made a complaining noise and moved to cuddle with my feet again. I smiled.
Then something buzzed. I groaned again. Why is my alarm clock buzzing? I leaned over and smacked the snooze button. Sadly, the buzzing continued. It took my tired brain about ten seconds to register that it was my phone. And it was buzzing so much that either fifty different people were texting me, or someone was calling me. At six in the morning.
"Heads are going to roll," I decided aloud as I reached for the source of my annoyance.
I picked up my phone and somehow managed to press the correct button to answer it. "Hello?" I said blearily.
"Thanks for finally picking up, Luigi!" said a vaguely familiar voice.
"Who is this? I asked, mostly because my brain was still asleep.
"This is Natsu. Remember? Natsu Dragneel?"
Something in my brain clicked. "Oh, yeah. The weird one," I recalled.
"I'm not weird! You are!"
"I am not!" I said. "Anyways, tell me why you called me at six in the morning, so I know why I'm murdering you.
"I was wondering if you could give me a ride to work, actually."
"Don't you have your own car?" I asked, confused.
"Well… About that…" He chuckled nervously.
"Why don't you just use that?"
"I… kinda can't…"
"Why not?" I asked, losing patience.
"Well… I was in a car crash."
I flew up into a sitting position. "You WHAT?!"
"Yeah…" He chuckled nervously again.
"What happened? I bet you were driving crazy, weren't you?"
"I resent that," he said. "Actually, the guy ran a stop sign and hit the right side of my car while I was in the intersection. Neither of us were hurt, buy my car was totaled." He sighed. "Which is why I'm asking for your help."
I groaned. "Why don't you ask someone else? I don't have work today, and I was planning on sleeping in."
"Well, I called Ice Princess, but he was already there. Same with Metal Face, Jellal, Mira and Lisanna, and Cana. And I'm not going to call Erza, because neither me nor the guy who hit me would live to see the rest of the day."
"Everyone's already at work at six in the morning? Why?" It would take someone holding a gun to my head to make me show up at work before eight.
"Well, today is a special day. It's the master's birthday, and-"
"Wait," I interrupted. "The master?"
"He's the big boss, the one who owns the place."
"Why do you call him the master?" I asked.
"He asked us to. I don't know. Anyways, it's his birthday, and we're throwing a big party for him. He always shows up at seven-thirty, every single day. So we have to show up early to set it up. Anyways, can you please come pick me up?"
I sighed. "Fine."
"Great!" Natsu said excitedly.
"Where are you?" I asked, getting out of bed and heading over to my desk, where I kept my laptop. I opened the laptop and turned it on.
He said an address, and I typed it into Google Maps, along with my own. "You're in luck," I said, a bit surprised. "That's less than two minutes away from my apartment."
"Really?" he asked. "Where's your apartment?"
"You could probably figure it out. I just have to get ready. Do you mind if I take a shower?"
"Nah. Go ahead."
"Thanks! I'll call you when I'm done, okay?"
"Cool! Bye, Luigi!"
I snorted. "Bye, Pinky." I ended the call and stretched. "Well, Plue, it looks like I won't be relaxing today." I stood and walked down the hall into the kitchen. I filled a cup with water and drank it. "Plue, I love water in the morning."
He barked and looked at me pleadingly. I chuckled. "Okay, you can have some too."
I poured some water in his dish, and he gave me another look before he leaned down to drink. I rolled my eyes. "You are so demanding!" I poured some food in his dish and grinned at him. "Happy?"
He barked.
"Guard the house for me, okay?"
He barked again.
I headed back down the hall and into my room. From there, I went into my bathroom.
I undressed and got in the shower. As I was reaching for the knob to turn the water on, I thought I heard a noise outside the bathroom. I listened for a little, but I didn't hear anything else. I shrugged and dismissed it. It must've been Plue.
I relaxed and let the warm water flow over me for a few minutes before I started washing my hair.
Once I was done, I turned off the water and climbed out of the shower. I grabbed a towel off the rack to dry off with.
Once I was dry, I reached for my clothes… Only to find that they weren't there. I sighed. I guess I totally spaced it. This is why I don't get up in the mornings. I'm practically useless.
I held my towel around me, mostly out of habit, and opened the bathroom door. I walked over to my dresser. I was rummaging around my drawers trying to decide what to wear when a sound came from behind me, where my bed was. I jumped. Then, when I realized who it must have been, I laughed. "Plue, you little rascal. Don't scare me like that!" I turned to look at him…
Only to be completely surprised.
The noise had been made by a person, who was laying on my bed. And not just any person. The pink hair gave him away. It was Natsu Dragneel.
"Yo, Luigi!" he said, waving. "Your bed is really comfortable!"
"Natsu? What are you doing here? How did you even get in?" I asked frantically, very conscious of the fact that I was only wearing a towel.
"I'm here because you're giving me a ride. Right?"
"I-I guess. How'd you find my apartment?"
He laughed. "That was easy. I asked the lady downstairs."
I blinked in confusion. "Lady downstairs?"
"Well, she was short and stocky, and kind of creepy looking."
"My land lady?"
He shrugged. "Maybe."
Why did she tell him? Oh, I am so going to murder her later! "Okay. How did you get in? I lock my door at night!"
"I climbed in through the window," he said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"I live on the fourth floor! What the heck, Natsu!?"
"It wasn't hard."
I shook my head. "You know what? Never mind. Just get out of my room."
He pouted. "But your bed is so comfy-"
"Get. Out."
"But-" he tried again.
"NOW!"
"Aye, sir!" he said, getting up and running out the door, looking terrified.
I sighed and shut it behind me. I slid down it and pulled his legs up to my chest. I wrapped my arms around them, and rested my chin on them.
He's so weird! And I swear I've heard his name somewhere before… I thought about that for a minute before another thought occurred to me. The other guy I met yesterday-what was his name? I searched my brain and found it. Gray Fullbuster! I've heard his name before, too! But I just can't seem to place them…
After thinking fruitlessly for several more minutes, I gave up and stood. I walked back over to my dresser and pulled out a blue miniskirt and a white and blue sleeveless tee with a collar. (Yeah, I am describing her very first outfit in the anime. I don't know if I did a good enough job, but there you go.)
I put my outfit on and went back into my bathroom. I put a little makeup on, pulled my hair into its customary side ponytail with a bow, and walked out. I grabbed my phone on the way out of my room.
I walked down the hall and into the kitchen. Natsu was searching my fridge.
"Natsu, what are you doing?" I asked.
"Raiding your kitchen," he answered, not even looking at me as he continued to search for whatever he was looking for.
"Why?"
"Because I'm hungry. Why else would I be raiding your kitchen? Geez, Luce. Pay attention."
"Why didn't you eat at your own house?!"
"I did. But that was forever ago."
I walked over, pulled him away from the fridge, and closed the door.
"Hey!" he said.
"Let's just go." I pulled him towards the door.
"But-"
"Take care, Plue!" I yelled over my shoulder. I grabbed my keys off the counter and dragged Natsu out of my apartment.
A/N What do you think is going to happen next? Leave a review, and make me happy that you are willing to take thirty seconds out of your busy life to make my day! Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
