A/N Hey guys! I'm sorry it took so long for me to update. I just didn't have any idea where this chapter wanted to go… And, once I sort of had it figured out, it sputtered and died. So it's kind of short. :P All right! Review answer/acknowledgement time!

To FairytailXNalu11: Thank you for reviewing every chapter since chapter 2! I really do appreciate that you took the time to say that it was good, even if that's all it was. Please keep it up!

To Melody233: I know. :P You've got to feel bad for the poor girl… She gets paired with Natsu the idiot. XD

To Sweet-icy: Don't worry. Weird people are the cool people. Also, you're lucky! I wish I had unicorns!

And to PrincessCarly28, kyia12, kelpiejh, and the 2 Guests, thanks for the reviews! It's nice to know that people enjoy this story.

And I have news. This story is now part of 2 communities! They are: Nalu or Nothing, and Warning: Addicting NaLu Stories. Big thanks to the people who added this story to them!

And that's all I have for now. Enjoy the chapter!

"Take care, Plue!" I yelled over my shoulder. I grabbed my keys off the counter and dragged Natsu out of my apartment.

As we went down the stairs, Natsu was still protesting. "But Luce! I'm hungry!"

"You're ridiculous," I responded, shaking my head.

"You're mean…" He frowned.

"You're weird," I replied.

"No I'm not! You're the weird one!"

"You know, I can just leave you on the curb and go back to sleep," I said, glaring at him.

He panicked. "But then Erza would kill me! I don't want to die! Please, Luce, you gotta help me!" he begged, getting down on one knee as we reached the foot of the stairs.

A blush spread over my face like wildfire. "Get up, Natsu!" I sputtered.

"Please, Luce!" he said.

"Okay, fine! Just get up!" If anyone saw that, I would die! He looked like he was proposing!

He stood up and brushed off some dirt that had gotten on the knee of his jeans. "Thanks! That's a relief!"

"Let's just go." I calmed down, we made it to my car, and got to work place without any more incidents… Or, at least, that's what I wish had happened.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans in store for us. As we walked out into the lobby, my landlady was standing there, grinning mischievously at me. Uh-oh, I thought. This can't be good.

"Lucy! Who'd have thought you'd bag a guy that hot?"

My face turned bright red and hot in two seconds flat. "N-no! It's not-"

"When's the date?" she grinned.

"You've got it all wrong!" I said, frantically waving my hands negatively and shaking my head.

"Luce, what's she talking about?" Natsu asked turning to me in confusion.

"He even has a nickname for you!" my landlady crowed.

"Don't worry about it, Natsu." I turned to the landlady. "We're not even together."

"But… If you're talking about the two of us, then we are together," Natsu said, looking confused.

"No, we're not." I grabbed his arm. "You've got us all wrong," I said, steering Natsu towards the door.

The landlady snickered. "Sure I do."

I huffed in frustration as my face went even more red. Luckily, the door was close, so we were right in front of it. I opened it, and dragged Natsu to my car as fast as possible. I breathed a sigh of relief. "We got away."

"Got away from what? Lucy, tell me what you were talking about with that lady," Natsu said, stopping in front of the car and folding his arms stubbornly.

My face went red again. "Does it really matter?"

"I want to know."

I sighed and put my face in my hands. "Look, will you please drop it?"

"No. Tell me." He stared at me.

"Well…" He raised his eyebrows expectantly. "You see…" I bit my lip.

"Go on," he said after a few seconds of silence.

"She thought we," I gestured to the two of us, "were a thing."

His brow furrowed in confusion. "What?"

"She thought that the two of us were together." I tried again.

"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?"

I sighed in exasperation. "She thought you had just proposed to me, idiot! Understand?"

He continued staring at me, obviously not understanding at all.

I threw up my hands in despair. "Why do I even try?" I muttered under my breath as I unlocked my car. "He's a dense idiot!"

I was climbing into my seat when he caught my elbow. "What?" I asked.

"Are you mad at me?" he asked worriedly, searching my face.

I was taken aback. "N-not really," I stuttered.

"So is that a yes or a no?"

"No. I… I'm not mad at you," I said firmly.

"That's a relief," he said, grinning and releasing my elbow.

I rolled my eyes as I climbed into the car. Natsu hopped in the passenger side, and we were off.

"Lucy, I still don't get what you were talking about with that lady," Natsu said.

"Natsu," I said, pinching the bridge of my nose, "seriously. Just. Leave. It. Alone!"

"Aye, sir!" he said, cowering and leaning as far away from me as he could.

"So where do you work, anyways?" I asked.

"Well… I want to surprise you," he said, grinning.

"Why?" I asked.

He shrugged. "I dunno."

"Fine. Be that way." I frowned at him and turned to look at the road.

"If it makes you feel better, it's only, like, five minutes more from here," he said.

"Well-" I was cut off, as I had to swerve to avoid a collision with a small car. "What the heck?! Idiot! I'm gonna kick your butt!"

Natsu looked terrified as I continued my tirade. I couldn't tell if it was because of the near miss we had, or me. "Seriously, what is with some of the idiots on the road?! Half of them are either drunk or on drugs, and the other half have no idea how to drive courteously! We could've died!" I shook my head. "Idiotic, just-out-from-the-womb, pig-headed, annoying jerkfaces!"

"Umm," Natsu said from the passenger seat, interrupting me.

"What?!" I asked, turning on him savagely.

"I work right here, in this building." He pointed out a building to our right that I probably would've missed if he hadn't pointed it out.

"Okay," I said, taking a deep breath to calm myself. I pulled into the parking lot and parked a few spots over from the door. Natsu and I got out of my car, and we walked over to the entrance to the building.

I saw the sign over the door seconds before Natsu started speaking. I gasped as I finally made the connection. That's where I heard their names before!

"Welcome, Miss Lucy Heartfilia, to Fairy Tail," Natsu said, grinning as he opened the door for me… It swung open onto a scene of absolute chaos.

A/N So, what did you think? I apologize again that it's so short… But next chapter should be pretty long! And you'll finally find out where she's heard their names before! So look forward to that, I guess. Anyways, please leave a review! I'll try to update sooner next time! Peace!
