Sorry about all the exposition and not a whole lot of Wilson loving but I promise that the next chapter will have some Wilson loving in it. I still hope you enjoy this chapter.

Chapter 38

After twenty minutes of giving his brother what for, Gabi walked over to say goodbye to them and then she left the pub, leaving Joey behind. Joey came back to their booth and joined them.

"So, are y'all still together of did she break up with you?" Will asked. He hoped that Gabi wouldn't break up with Joey over something as silly as him asking about Nick.

"We're still a couple but she let me have it with both barrels. Has she always been such a spitfire?" Joey asked Will.

"What do you expect Joey? She's Latina. Did she cuss you out in Spanish?"

"She used a few words but I don't know what they meant. I think I'm going to get a Spanish to English translation book so I can keep up with her rants."

Both Sonny and Will laughed at Joey, confusing him. Then Sonny clued him in on the joke. "Dear brother of mine, I don't think that a translation book would have the words that Gabi is likely to use on you."

"What does that mean?"

"It means that she's gonna use words that are slang. Maybe even a couple of cuss words. Dude when she riled up, she's liable to say anything. When it comes to Nick Fallon, she can get pretty pissed off."

"What did this guy do to her?" Joey asked.

"He convinced her that he had fallen in love with her and when she had fallen in love with him, he used her to hurt me and your brother." Will hated thinking about what Nick had done to him Sonny most of last year.

"Why does he have a problem with you and Sonny?"

"Because we are gay and he's a bigot. He didn't like it when we showed PDA's around him and he made it known. When Gabi found out she was pregnant, he took upon himself to declare Will and I unfit to be parents because of our sexuality."

"He didn't want you to help raise your own daughter. That sucks."

"Yes, it does. The worse of it is that he's my cousin. His mom and my dad are first cousins."

"That's hard to believe that he would do that to his own cousin."

"What's even harder to believe is that he would hurt Gabi the way he did."

"What exactly did he do to her?" Joey's interest in Gabi was peaked.

"She was vulnerable after what happened between she and I and he knew that. He played on her vulnerability. I'm not saying that somewhere deep inside that cold, sadistic heart of his, he loved her but when he used her love for him to hurt Sonny and me, that ruined everything for her."

"So why is he in jail?"

"Because he tried to kill your brother on the day that he adopted Marley. I would have thought your mama or daddy would have told you about Nick shooting Sonny." Will looked over at his husband.

"I imagine dad left it up to mama to tell you and she didn't think it was important enough."

"Sonny, why does she not want you to be with Will? I think he's perfect for you. I've never seen you happier than you are with Will."

"She doesn't like Will and his family. Matter of fact, she dislikes Will so much that she hired the lawyer for Gabi and Nick when we took them to court for custody of Marley."

"Why would mom do that to you? You are her son and I know that she loves."

"I think so too but she just doesn't want to let her feelings of love for me get in the way of her hatred for Will's family. Will, Marley, Sophie and Jackson are my family now. Not that I don't still have you, Vic, Alex, Dad and Uncle Victor but my husband and kids are the most important people in my life."

"And they should be brother. I love you, Vic, Alex, Uncle Vic and the parents too but if or when I get married and have a family of my own they will be the most important people in my life too."

"Do you think that will be with Gabi?" Will asked.

"I don't know. We just started dating so I don't want to rush into anything. Matter of fact, we've only kissed a couple of times and held hands. She's never spent the night at my apartment and vice versa."

"I understand you are scared." Will said, laughing at his brother-in-law.

"I'm scared damn it. I just don't want her to regret getting involved with someone like me. Can you imagine the two of married? Her Latina flare and my Greek stubbornness."

"Dynamite just waiting to explode. I would love to watch the two of you in an argument. I dated Gabi so I know what her temper is like and I also remember what she was like when she was pregnant with Marley."

Joey suddenly got a look of fear on his face and it worried both Will and Sonny. "Don't worry brother. You can handle anything that little Latin love goddess can throw at you."

"Do you really think I can handle a spitfire like her? I mean she has quite the temper on her."

"But Joey you are a man who can handle anything and I know for a fact that you are falling in love with Gabi. As your brother, I owe you some loyalty and that's why I haven't said anything to her but you need to let her know that you are interested in more than just dating. If you really and truly are falling in love with her, she needs to know now."

"Okay lovebirds, I understand. I'm taking her out for dinner after her doctor's appointment next Friday so I will tell her then how I feel."

"Well, we have to go. I promised this little girl that her daddy and I would take her to the zoo so while we have a few hours left of the day, I want to go. Plus I don't know when this man will be willing to take another day off from work so I want to take advantage of it. See you later Joey."

"Later Will." Joey stood up and leaned down to kiss Marley on the forehead. "Bye sweetie." Then he turned to Sonny. "See you later brother. Go have some fun with your family. Just imagine, before too long, you'll have three of these wonderful little heavenly creatures to take care. You are so blessed."

"Don't I know it. I have found the love of my life and he is giving me the family that I thought that I might not ever have since the day I admitted that I was gay."

"Like I said, you and Will are both blessed. If I can find just a tenth of the happiness the two of you have found, then I will be blessed too." Joey hugged his brother and then he was gone.

"Are you ready to go handsome?" Will asked his husband.

"I'm ready if you are." Together Will, Sonny and Marley left the pub and headed to the zoo for their day out as a loving family.

Sonny couldn't wait until the day came that it would be five instead of three that made up his family. "I love you Will."

"I love you too Sonny." They kissed before getting Marley situated in her car seat and climbing into the car themselves.
