Soul Mates

Chapter 40

Will and Sonny ended up sitting at the bar eating their food because Gabi and Joey sat there and talked for almost an hour while she ate her lunch.

Finally, they all left to go towards their own destinations. Joey rode with Gabi back to her house since he had walked to the pub while Will and Sonny drove to Sami's to pick up Marley.

"I never thought you would love babysitting as much as you do considering how my childhood was." Will said out loud before he thought about how it sounded. "I'm sorry mom."

"Don't be sorry. I wasn't the best mom to you and I'm sorry for that. I wish I could go back to when you were born and do it all over again. I was just a kid then but that was no excuse for pawning you off on everybody that would take you."

"Well, at least you learned from your mistakes and you're not doing that with Allie, Johnny and Sidney."

"I want them to love me."

"Mom, I love you despite everything that has happened between us. You have become a mom that I can depend on now. When I came out to you and dad, you freaked at first but then you became my rock. And to me what's more important than what kind of mother you is what kind of grandmother you are."

"Do I pass the test?"

"With flying colors. I know that I can leave her with you anytime because you with take care of her and love her with your mite."

"I already do. Thank you Will and Sonny for trusting me with the most precious person in the world." Sami hugged both Will's and Sonny's necks before she started crying.

"Just think mom, in three months you will have two more grandkids to love all over and spoil."

"You need to stop it young man?" she said as she swatted him on his shoulder.

"What did I do now?"

"You are making me old before my time by having all my grandkids so early."

"I learned from the best to have them early so I can enjoy my old age."

"Are you saying I'm old?"

"No ma'am. I would never call you old. So you are excited about the twins coming, right?"

"Of course Will. Why wouldn't I be excited about you and Sonny giving me more grandkids? I will be happy for any and all the grandchildren you boys want to give me. If you want stop with Marley and the twins, I'll be happy but if you would like to give me more, I'll be happy about that too." Sami pulled Will into her arms and hugged him with all her might.

"Let's get the twins born before you have us having more. It's not that I don't want more kids with Sonny but I would like for Marley, Jackson and Sophia to be a little older before we even think about giving them more brothers and sisters."

"I agree with my wonderful husband on that note. Now why don't we take this little sweetheart home and get her ready for bed."

They bid Sami farewell and together with their left the Dimera mansion and headed for their home.

Will and Sonny were laying in bed kissing when Will's cell phone rang. "Who could that be at this time of the night?" he asked before looking at the caller ID. "It's Gabi."

"Answer it. Something may be wrong with the twins." Will sat up and answered the phone.

"Hello."

"Will, this Joey. I'm at the hospital with Gabi. I was at her place when she started having cramps in her stomach. She asked me to bring to the hospital and call you. Cameron is in with her right now."

"We'll be there as soon as I can get someone to sit with Marley."

"See you when you get here."

After calling Sami and asking her if she would come to the house to sit with Marley while they went to the hospital, Will and Sonny headed to the hospital to check on Gabi and the babies.

They came across Joey in the waiting room. "Where is she Joey?"

"They've had her back since we came in. guys, I was scared because she was hurting so bad. I didn't what to do but she told me to bring her here."

"Thank you Joey."

"It was my pleasure." Just then the doctor came out of the room to talk to them.

"Are you William Horton-Kiriakis?" he asked Will.

"Yes, I am. How is Gabi?"

"She's being prepped for surgery as we speak."

"Why? What's wrong?"

"The twins are in distress. We're doing an emergency C-section to take the twins."

"But she's only six months pregnant. Are the babies going to be okay?" he asked, holding back the tears.

"We know how far along she is Mr. Horton-Kiriakis. She is far enough along that the babies should be okay even though they are premature. Since you're the daddy, I'll let you be in the viewing room when they twins are born."

"My husband and I are the parents. Gabi is our surrogate."

"So the twins are your and his?" the doctor asked as he pointed to Sonny.

"I don't appreciate the tone doctor. Sonny is my husband and we are the gay parents of Jackson Robert and Sophia Caroline Horton-Kiriakis. I demand your respect and better bed side manner or I will have you replaced."

"Sorry Mr. Horton-Kiriakis." The doctor headed back into the room where they were prepping Gabi for surgery.

Sonny pulled Will into his arms and they both started to cry. "What if we lose all three of them because we wanted more kids? We can't lose her and those kids. Besides you, she's my best friend and I don't want to lose her."

"Don't worry baby. She's in good hands here and they will take care of her, Jackson and Sophia. We have to believe that they will be okay Will. Our love for Gabi and those twins will help them survive." Sonny sat down, pulling Will into his lap so he could console his husband.
