Chapter 42

They were finally allowed to hold JR and Sophie in their arms and feed them. Sonny was holding JR and Will was holding Sophie when Sami and Lucas came into the room.

"You're allowed to hold them outside their little bubbles." Sami asked as she walked up behind Will. "She is so precious. I cannot believe that you have made me a grandmother again. You boys are going to make me old before my time."

"What about me?" Lucas said as he walked up behind Sonny. "After all, you and I were the same age when Will was born. I just can't believe I'm a grandfather at my age."

"Well Mr. Horton, that's what happens when you have kids at a young age who have kids at a young age."

"Sonny, I think that it's about time you either call me Lucas or Dad seeing as how you are going to be a member of our family for the duration."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course I'm sure."

"Okay. I'll call you dad when I'm around you but when my dad is around I'll call you Lucas. Is that okay?"

"Anything has to be better than calling me Mr. Horton. That really makes me feel old."

"Well, Mr. Horton, are you ready to leave? I think these two dads need to spend some time with their son and daughter. By the way, where is Marley?"

"She's with Granny Adrienne." As soon as Sonny saw the look of surprise on Sami's face, he chimed in.

"She asked if she could babysit while we came to see JR and Sophie. Will and I agreed to let her, giving her the benefit of the doubt."

"I just hope she doesn't let you boys down."

"Me either."

"Later." Sami hugged both Will and Sonny goodbye before giving both of her grandkids a peck on the forehead.

Then Sami and Lucas left the room, leaving Will and Sonny alone with their children.

"Sonny have you noticed that JR and Sophie both look just like you? That probably means that you are their biological dad."

"We're not going there Will. JR and Sophie are your kids as well as mine. We don't who the biological dad of either one of them is because that's the way we wanted. Have you changed your mind?"

"No but. . ."

"No buts about it. We are their parents regardless of DNA. Do you understand me husband of mine?"

"Yes, dear." Will leaned over and kissed Sonny. "I'm so happy that you decided to spend your life with me and be the father of my kids."

"Well, I could say the same thing. You had never been with another man before me so at first I was worried that one day you would regret tying yourself down to me without going out and experimenting."

"Sonny, when you have best, you have no need for the rest. You are my best friend, my lover, my light at the end of the tunnel, my husband and the father of my kids. I couldn't ask for more. You are my soul mate."

"And you are mine too." They didn't realize they had company until they heard several of the neonatal nurses crying at what they were witnessing.

"Ladies, are y'all going to be okay?" Sonny asked as he put JR back in his crib.

"Why are all the good guys either married or gay?"

"And in this case, they're both." Will said with a laugh as he finished changing Sophie's diaper.

"What do you mean?" asked the new night nurse. Sonny walked over to Will and kissed him right on the mouth, causing him to blush.

"This sexy dad is my husband and the father to our three kids." Sonny took Sophie from her daddy and carried her over to her crib.

"How long have you been married? And are you happy?" the nurse asked Will, laughing at his blush.

"We've been together for a little over two years and been married almost eight months. I'm pretty sure that Sonny is happy with me because he hasn't talked about killing me or divorcing me yet."

"Of course I'm happy. Would I have agreed to have more kids with you if I wasn't happy?"

"Maybe you're a glutton for punishment." Will said after both JR and Sophie had fallen asleep and he was able to show his gorgeous husband all of his attention.

"I love the kind of punishment you heap on me. How about we go home and you show me some more of it."

"Sonny Horton-Kiriakis!"

"What? I'm sure that these ladies have heard that kind of talk before."

"Before you go," the nurse said as they headed for the door, "you said that y'all have three kids. Where is the third?"

"She's with Sonny's parents. Her name is Marley and she's a little over a year old. She's my daughter with the twins' mother."

"You mean that all three of your kids have the same mother?" the nurse asked.

"Yes. Before Sonny and I became a couple, I slept with Marley's mom but didn't know that she was pregnant with our daughter until after Sonny and I started our relationship."

"Then how did she become the mother of our twins?" Will could see that all the nurses were fascinated by the story of their family.

"She volunteered to be our surrogate mother. We didn't know at the time that she conceived that we were having twins but we are totally happy about JR and Sophie."

"Then I'm happy for you and your husband. Congratulations on your new addition to your family. They are beautiful."

"Thank you." Sonny grabbed Will by the hand and they left the hospital, heading home for a night of romance in a house by themselves.

They stopped at the grocery store to pick up some stuff they would need for their night of lovemaking. Will picked out strawberries, champagne and whipped cream while Sonny picked out some dark chocolate, ice cream, bananas and hot fudge sauce.

While Sonny was preparing everything, Will stuck a CD of romantic music in the CD player and they started their at home date.
