Chapter 47

Will was taking the casserole out of the oven when he heard a knock on the door. He sat the food down on the stove and made his way to answer the door.

He was shocked when he saw Nick standing in his doorway. "What are you doing here Nick?" he asked.

"I wanted to see you and Sonny." Just then, Sonny walked into the living room carrying the twins while Marley walked beside him.

"What are you doing here Nick?" Sonny asked, obviously angry with the older man.

"I needed to talk to the two of you about Gabi." Will walked away from the open door, allowing Nick to enter their home.

"What makes you think that we're going to talk to you about anything Nick, especially after what you did to us, Marley and Gabi?"

"I've made some mistakes. I regret everything I did to you, Sonny, Gabi and Marley. I ruined everything between Gabi and me. I have to pay for those mistakes."

"You call what you did simple mistakes? You put the love of my life in the hospital and in a wheelchair because you didn't like the fact that we're a gay couple trying to raise our daughter together." Will sat down on the couch and pulled Marley into his lap while Sonny sat down next to him with their son and daughter in his arms.

"I know what I did was wrong and there is no excuse in the world to make up for it but Will you know what I suffered through in prison at the hands of Jensen. You know what he did to me." Nick shut the door and sat down in the chair opposite from the couch.

"I know what you went through Nick. I heard Jensen admit it right there in front of me when he didn't know I was listening nearby. What he did to you in prison was so wrong and nobody deserves what happened to you to happen to them but you are using that as an excuse to make it okay for the way you treat other people and that's not right. You may not like the way Sonny and I live our lives and that's your choice but it's our lives to live and you can't dictate how we should live them."

"I know Will. I know I was wrong for the way I treated you and Sonny but I just want a second chance to make things right, to prove to the both of you that I can change."

"What exactly do you want from us?" Sonny asked as he played patty cake with JR and Sophia. "I don't know how Will feels but if he leaves it up to me, you will have nothing to do with Marley. We almost lost her because of you and I just can't give you my trust that easily."

"I understand Sonny. What about you Will? Can you forgive me for what I have done?" Nick asked as he sat up on the edge of the chair and looked directly into Will's eyes.

"I've already forgiven you Nick but I just don't trust you. I think you need to leave now because we're expecting Gabi and her fiancée here for a going away dinner and I don't want you to be here when she arrives. And where Gabi is concerned, if she wants to forgive you that is up to her. I can't tell her what to do." Will stood up with Marley in his arms and walked over to the door to open it. "Good luck Nick. I hope you can find some happiness and eventually forgive yourself for what happened to you in prison."

The moment Nick walked through the door to leave, Will shut it and turned to face his husband. "Do you think he's sincere?"

"I don't know Will but he's got a lot of rage and anger built up inside him because of what Jensen did to him and he's got to come to terms with that. Nobody can do it for him. He has to be willing to deal with it himself." Will made his way back to the couch and sat down next to his beautiful husband.

"I love you Jackson Steven Horton-Kiriakis."

"And I love you William Robert Horton-Kiriakis." Sonny leaned over and kissed Will on the mouth before he kissed Marley on her forehead. "I love you Marlena Grace Horton-Kiriakis." Then he turned his attention to the twins. "I love you Jackson Robert Horton-Kiriakis. I love you Sophia Caroline Horton-Kiriakis."

"We all love you so much." Will kissed Sonny until there was another knock on their door. He sat Marley down next to her papa while he got up to answer the door.

This time when he opened the door, he was happy to see Gabi and Joey standing there arm in arm like a couple of lovesick teens.

"Good evening Ms. Hernandez, Mr. Kiriakis. Welcome to our home."

"Hey Will. Hey Sonny." Gabi made her way into the living room and sat down on the couch next to Sonny and the kids. "Hello sweetie." She leaned down and hugged her daughter, bringing tears to both Will's and Sonny's eyes.

Joey walked into the room and Will joined them after shutting the door. "Glad the both of you could come. Do y'all want to eat now or wait a little bit?" Will asked.

"That's up to you. You're the host." Marley climbed into Gabi's lap and hugged her neck.

"Okay. Why don't we visit for a little bit while the kids are still awake and then we can eat before they go down for the night?"

"Thank you Will." Gabi got down in the floor with Marley so they could play with her toys while Joey sat down on the couch and held his nephew.

"So Joey, are you going to marry Gabi or are you just going to live with her?" Sonny asked his big brother.

"Matter of fact little brother, I have already asked her to marry me. Didn't either of you notice the ring on her finger when we came in earlier?" Joey scooted off the couch and onto the floor to sit beside Gabi.

Joey reached out, taking Gabi's left hand in his and brought it up to his mouth so he could place a kiss on the diamond ring on her third finger.

"So, you two are getting married?" Will asked Gabi.

"Well, we couldn't let the two of you have all the happiness, could we?" Gabi smiled as Joey pulled her into his lap and kissed her again.

"I'm happy for you Gabi. You deserve all the happiness in the world. And Joey Kiriakis, if you don't make her happy, I'll hunt you down and hurt you. Do you understand?"

"Of course, I understand. I'm going to make it my life's work to make this little lady happy."

"Good."

"Why don't we go eat now and then we can continue celebrating afterwards."

"You read my mind." They all went into the kitchen to eat dinner.
