Chapter 5
Reunions and Relationships
(Forest Moon of Endor)
The weretiger woman moved through the forest with incredible grace and agility, like she was born to it. She sniffed the air intently, her head jerking in a certain direction before heading off again.
Behind her, low on the ground, the small group of unique individuals were conversing.
"Are you sure she knows what she's doing?" Han asked.
"Tigra's enhanced sense of smell has never steered us wrong, General." Captain America said.
"It was lucky we still had Leia's helmet so that she could better track her down." Luke commented.
"She's doing a lot better than Chewie." Han said.
"Argh!" the Wookiee snapped.
"Well I'm not the one who let his stomach lure us into a trap." Han countered the Wookiee.
"Arrhhh!" Chewie retorted.
"A dead animal sitting on a propped up stick, wasn't a clue for you?" Han asked.
"Arrhhh?" he asked.
"No, it couldn't have accidentally ended up there." Han replied.
"Raahhhh?!" Chewie asked.
"What would I have done? I'd have looked elsewhere for food. Or eaten what we brought for this trip."
"Arrggghh Ooof!" Chewie roared.
"Well that's not my fault." Han shot back.
"God! They act like me and Ben." Johnny mumbled under his breath.
"Don't let that distract you, Johnny. We still don't know who set that trap." Captain America said.
"Maybe we'll find out." Luke said.
"That's what I'm worried about." Johnny said.
"Over Here!" Tigra called out from a nearby tree.
The group looked up and saw that there were several 'houses' and 'huts' in the trees, several of them connected by wooden and rope bridges. Some of them seemed to have rope you could swing from to get to each place.
"Tree houses?" Han asked.
"Yeah. Probably the people who set that trap we got caught up in?" Luke asked.
"You mean the one Chewie got us caught up in?" Han asked.
"Grrrr!" Chewie growled then snapped. "Aroooh!"
"No, I'm not gonna let you forget it." Han replied.
"So where are these people?" Johnny asked.
"I don't think they're people." Luke said.
"How do you know?" Johnny asked.
"Because we're surrounded by them." the last Jedi said.
The group looked around them and saw dozens of small, humanoid bears with leather hoods and clothes, and armed with wooden spears tipped with sharpened rocks, and they were pointing their spears at them.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Peter felt something twinkle in his mind, as if he knew something was about to happen and he didn't know what. But he knew enough to be prepared.
While Rahm Kota and Maris Brood were using their Force-Healing abilities to tend to the injured redheaded human woman and the male Wookie, Peter went around to the back of the ship. He quickly changed out of his Lieutenants uniform, into his Spider-Man costume.
He was grateful that the Alliance was able to clean his costume and repair it. He wondered just who had been responsible so he could thank them personally.
He flipped open his pack and quickly started to work on his web-shooters. While they had been damaged from the fighting on that desert world, he was lucky enough to have access to more advanced technology to repair them.
While he could have made due with a screwdriver, a pair of pliers, a couple yards of steel wire and a mini-acetylene torch, he was glad to have more advanced tech at his current disposal. The mini-laser cutter was a welcome addition, as was the mini-magnetic manipulator and the holographic diagnostic device which displayed the internal mechanics of the device in question.
The Alliance had provided him with several other little useful devices, which he had packed up in his backpack so that he could work on them when he got the chance.
Weapons were not something he was fond of, which is why he had never really constructed his own deadly devices. His web-shooters, his web-net, and sedative stingers (the last two courtesy of Ben Reilly, his clone) were included in the packs of his belt. While the Alliance had been capable of creating devices like these, there was no practical application for what Spider-Man wanted. Even so, they had given him the equipment and materials he had requested.
Let's see... Functional web-shooters: check. Web-cartridges: check. Sedative stingers: check. Micro-Mesh Web-Net: check. Impact Webbing: check. Spider-Signal: check. Looks like I'm good to go. Peter thought as he finished up with his repairs. Although... maybe I should consider a wardrobe change as well, from my uniform.
Peter remembered how he had once been a protégée of Tony Stark, and as such he had been given a special 'Iron Spider' suit, equipt with mechanical arms, a cloaking system, special on-board computer system, the suit was totally bulletproof. And what's more is that it didn't hinder his ability to move like he normally did.
There were times he missed that suit.
"Peter?" Oola said asked as she came around the side of the ship.
"Oola? I'm back here." Peter replied.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Just fixing some of my equipment." he said.
The Twi'lek woman was a little shocked to find Peter in his Spider-Man costume, but didn't ask questions as she sat next to him. She watched him work for a couple minutes as she sat down next to him, just watching as he worked. She was actually impressed that he was so intelligent as well as powerful.
Once Peter had put his tools and equipment away, he turned to Oola, who just looked at him with a smile on her face. Right before she leaned in and kissed him on the lips.
Peter was a little shocked, but quickly responded to her kissing.
It was this kiss, that caused him to think back to their time on Home One.
When Oola pulled him into the shower because he smelled like he hadn't taken a bath in a while, which he hadn't since being trapped in Jabba's dungeon with Oola, Peter expected to just take a shower, but Oola had other ideas.
She had stripped him of his costume and then tossed her towel away.
The second she did that, Peter had felt his brain lock up at seeing this beautiful, shapely alien woman standing before him. Unabashed and completely naked before him. Like he was her lover and they had nothing to hide from each other.
Peter realized that this was very quick since they had only met each other a couple days prior, but Oola seemed to have accepted him already.
And since Peter had no relationship of his own in his world, the little angel on his shoulder was not there to tell him it was bad idea.
Oola then drug Peter into the shower, where they did wash each other, but it was where she took the opportunity to impose herself upon Peter.
They made love in the shower, which was as romantic as it was kinky and passionate.
Peter never had a lover who was as limber as she was. Lifting her leg up and over his shoulder while still standing up, was impressive.
Which was naturally why Peter was having concerns about what to do after this conflict was over.
Would he return to his own universe, or would he try and make a life here in this universe?
Just then, Tannette arrived.
"So here you are." the Mirialan woman said, causing Peter and Oola to break apart in embarrassment. Like two teenagers caught making out by their parents.
Tannette just laughed at the pairs expressions.
"H-How are your friends doing?" Peter asked.
"They will make a full recovery. Thanks to your Jedi." Tannette said.
"Is there something we can help you with?" Oola asked the Mirialan woman.
"Yes. Rand wants to fight you." Tannette said to Peter.
"What?" Peter gasped. "Still?"
"Yes. He seems to think you're strong, and he likes to battle strong enemies." she said.
"I don't want to be enemies." Peter said.
"He doesn't want to be enemies either. He just wants to fight you. A spar, if you will."
"Hmm. Well..."
"Great! I'll go tell him!" she said as she rushed off.
"But wait!" Peter shouted after Tannette.
"Well, this is going to be fun." Oola groaned.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(Rebel Fleet, near Sullust on the Outer Rim)
The plan was a simple one: Send a strike team to land on the forest moon of Endor to shut down the deflector shield right before the Alliance attacked The Death Star II. The strike team would then have 24-hours to infiltrate the planet and shut the power station down.
The plan was dangerous, but Lando Calrissian was confident that his old friend, Han Solo, could pull it off.
Especially with the added muscle that Han had with him. It almost made him envious at the extra skills, namely from the Jedi and Peter, that Han had with him.
However, that changed shortly after Han had left.
The General from Cloud City was making another check of the Millennium Falcon's hyper-drive and weapons systems when Fulcrum had arrived on Home One shortly after the strike team had departed. With her was a pale-skinned woman with short grayish hair, dressed in a dark blue-like outfit, and carrying a pair of lightsabers on her person.
This was Asajj Ventress, a Force-sensitive bounty hunter and former enemy of the Jedi.
The woman who called herself Fulcrum, The Voice of The Rebellion, was actually Luminara Unduli, a Mirialan Jedi Master who had escaped the horrible events of Order 66 over 20 years ago and went into hiding to protect herself.
Five years before the first Death Star was destroyed by the Alliance, she had made herself known as the voice of the Rebellion, seeking to inspire hope in a galaxy that had been dominated by the Empire's cruelty and ruthlessness.
She had little interactions with the actual body of the Alliance, preferring to stay in the shadows so as not to draw attention to herself. The Jedi had unfortunately gained a bad reputation thanks to the Empire and it's Emperor Palpatine.
Mostly because he was a Sith Lord and he had taken control of the Senate, as well as the Jedi, when he became the Supreme Chancellor. And the Jedi were completely blind to it.
Maybe it was the sorrow she had felt when so many of her fellow Jedi had suddenly been murdered without mercy.
Maybe it was the despair she felt at having failed so much during the War. First in not knowing that Palpatine was a Sith, then her various losses during the Clone Wars, when her apprentice Barriss proved to be responsible for the Jedi Temple Bombing.
But for whatever reason, after fifteen years of hiding away while evil ruled the galaxy, Luminara decided to do something.
She became a voice for the people, doing her best to give them hope in a galaxy gone wrong. And had taken the name Fulcrum to hide her real identity.
And it was something that she regretted when she found out the Empire had captured her and was holding her at The Spire, an Imperial prison located on Stygeon Prime.
An underground holonet transmission, created by Senator Gall Trayvis, had confirmed that she was there. Because of this, a group of Rebels from Lothal, which included a pair of Jedi, followed up on this and attempted to rescue her.
However, it was only a ruse in order to lure out active Jedi in the galaxy.
Unfortunately, when Luminara heard about this, it was too late to warn them. She was relieved when she later found out that the Jedi who had tried to rescue her had escaped the Empires trap.
It was because of this, that Luminara tried to take a more active role in the Rebellion, all while trying to keep her identity from the Empire.
Her only companion in this turbulent time had been Asajj Ventress, a former Sith apprentice and assassin for the Separatists during the Clone Wars, who had long since abandoned their ways due to her being betrayed by their leader, Count Dooku.
She had taken on several mercenary and bounty hunting jobs just before the end of the Clone Wars, and had been a successful one even after the Republic became the Empire.
Despite her infamy, she still was able to keep a low profile. It was nearly 15 years after the war that Ventress encountered one of her former enemies, Luminara Unduli, when Luminara started operating as the Voice of the Rebellion.
Whatever her reasons were, instead of turning Luminara over to the Empire, Ventress decided to help out the former Jedi.
"It's a pleasure to meet the Voice Of The Rebellion in person." Lando said to the aged Jedi Master. "Though we didn't expect to see you here."
"Thank you, General. For safety sake, we had to be careful." Luminara said to the man.
"She was insistent that we come here. Now." Ventress said.
"Now? Why now?" Lando asked.
"A tremor in the Force." Luminara replied.
Just then, one of the soldiers rushed up to the general and his guests.
"Sir! We've detected a strange energy anomaly!" the man said.
"Really? Where?" Lando asked the soldier.
"Six thousand meters off the starboard side of Home One."
"Let's check it out."
Ventress and Luminara rushed after Lando as he boarded The Falcon and headed out to check out the anomaly.
Lando only had a skeleton crew aboard his ship as he headed out, so he was glad to have the two Force-users with him.
("General Calrissian! What's going on?") Admiral Ackbar asked over the communicator once the Falcon was out of the hanger.
"I'm not sure, Admiral. We're checking it out now." Lando replied from the ships cockpit.
Suddenly, a strange flash of light blinded everyone, as a ship appeared from out of nowhere.
"What is that?" one of the soldiers asked.
"It's a ship!" Ventress answered.
"Strange. It looks familiar." Lando said.
The ship, which looked like some kind of freighter, was mostly white and gray with yellow outlines and a few battle scars. Like it had been in a dogfight. It was 44 meters long and about 34 meters in width.
"It looks like a modified VCX-100 light freighter." the soldier said.
"What? It can't be! That's The Ghost!" Lando gasped.
"The Ghost?" the soldier asked.
"Yes. It belonged to a group of rebels who opposed the Empire. From Lothal." Lando replied.
"Lothal? I thought that rebel cell was wiped out." the soldier said.
"So we thought." Lando replied.
"General, I am sensing life signatures aboard the ship." Luminara said to Lando.
"Well, let's get the ship back to Home One and we'll see what we can do about it." Lando said.
The Falcon towed The Ghost back to the main hanger of Home One within less than a minute.
Once inside the main cruiser, the Rebels were able to open up the hatch in order to get inside.
Lando went first, seeing as how he knew the people inside. At least, he hoped it was the same people he had dealt with before.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" Lando called out.
Click.
Lando froze when he heard the familiar sound of a bowcaster behind him.
He slowly turned around and grinned when he took in the sight of a large and familiar Lasat.
"Garazeb Orrelios?" Lando asked.
"What the... Lando Calrissian?" Zeb gasped when he fully saw the man.
"Actually it's General Calrissian now." Lando said, still keeping his hands up.
"General? Wha..."
"It's a long story." Lando said.
Just then, the other members of The Ghost came around the corner.
"I don't believe it." Lando said with a smile.
Standing before him were Kanan Jarrus, a former Jedi Knight and leader of this team; Ezra Bridger, a thief and Jedi-in-training under Kanan; Hera Syndulla, the green-skinned Twi'lek pilot and owner of The Ghost; Chopper the irritable astromech; and Sabine Wren, the female Mandalorian artist and explosives expert.
All of them looking like they had, a year before the first Death Star's destruction.
"Lando Calrissian?" Kanan gasped when he saw the dark-skinned man.
"Actually it's General Calrissian now." Zeb said.
"What?" Ezra asked.
"It's a long story. But... what's happened? Where have you been? You all look the same as you did five years ago when you were killed." Lando said.
"Killed?" Sabine asked.
"Five years?" Hera asked.
"What are you talking about?" Ezra asked.
"Like I said, it's a long story. And your arrival couldn't have been more fortuitous." Lando said. "Please, follow me."
Lando lead the six members of The Ghost out into the hanger of Home One, where several Rebels were waiting to see who was there.
Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar were there when the six were lead out by Calrissian.
"Allow me to introduce you to the crew of The Ghost, the rebel cell from Lothal. This is Kanan Jarrus, team leader. His apprentice, Ezra Bridger. Ship's captain Hera Syndulla. Lasat honor guard Zeb Orrelios. Mandalorian explosives expert, and artist, Sabine Wren. And their astromech Chopper. Everyone, allow me to introduce the leaders of the Rebel Alliance. Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar." Lando said to everyone.
"Welcome to Home One." Mon Mothma said to the crew.
"Thank you. But... what's going on?" Kanan asked.
"That's what we'd like to know." Lando said. "You've been gone quite a while, and we have very little time to get you caught up."
"Oh? Why is that?" Hera asked.
"Because... we're about to attack The Death Star II." Ackbar said.
The Ghost crew looked at each other in shock.
"The Death Star II?" the group gasped in shock.
They had discovered the existence of the first planet-destroying space station, still under construction, and had tried to alert the Alliance.
"Like I said, you've been gone quite a while." Lando said.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Mon Mothma asked.
"We were being chased by the Empire, after a mission to Ord Mandel. We had just learned of the existence of the Death Star, being constructed in secret, when we encountered a strange singularity on the edge of the Outer Rim. It looked like some kind of black hole." Kanan said.
"Ord Mandel?" Lando mused when he heard that.
"We were drawn into it, and..." Kanan said.
"We blacked out." Hera finished.
"The next thing we know we're being towed into this big ship, and we see you wandering around our ship." Zeb said to Lando.
"The mission to Ord Mandel... was about five years ago. We never heard from you again. We thought the Empire had destroyed you." Lando said.
"What was your mission to Ord Mandel?" Mon Mothma asked.
"We'd found out information about a new Imperial battle station and were trying to get it to the Rebel Alliance. But... you said that was five years ago?" Kanan asked.
"Yes. Since then we've destroyed the Empire's first battle station, and we are now poised to strike at their newest one, which is currently under construction." Mothma said.
"A second battle station?" Sabine asked.
"We have been gone a long time." Ezra said.
"But how?" Hera wondered.
"That black hole you got pulled in to... it must have tossed you five years into the future from where and when you were." Lando said.
"Time travel? That's insane!" Zeb huffed.
"Maybe, but there isn't any other explanation." Lando said.
"It's still insane." Zeb retorted.
"Insane or not, we could use your help. Our fleet is ready to strike at the second Death Star, as soon as our strike force sabotages the defense field protecting it." Lando said.
"I think we'd better be brought up to speed on everything. And fast." Kanan said.
"Yes. We all would." a voice behind them said.
The crew turned around and gasped when they saw a familiar figure.
"Greetings, Caleb Dume." Luminara said with a bow. "It is good to see you alive."
"M-M-Master Luminara?" Kanan gasped when he saw the Mirialan Jedi Master. "But... I thought..."
"Reports of my death were been greatly exaggerated." Luminara said to them.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(Endor)
Peter was dressed in his Spider-Man costume, which seemed a little unusual to the group he had just met.
Tannette and Laurenanna seemed to be analyzing the physique of the red-and-blue garbed man. Mara Jade, who had recovered from her injuries thanks to the Jedi, was interested in the outcome of this spar.
The commandos were also looking forward to seeing just what was so special about Peter. They had heard about him, and saw what he was capable of when he took out those biker scouts. But this would be a first to see him in actual combat.
Peter and Rand suddenly moved. The Kyuzo darted in and tried to smash his fist against Peter's chest, only for the webslinger to step aside and allow Rand to pass by him.
Rand quickly spun around and tried to kick Peter, only for the human-spider to dodge out of the way just as quickly.
The pair went back and forth, Peter blocking and dodging as best he could. Rand seemed to sense that Peter was trying to tire him out, and switched tactics. He pulled his steel-rimmed circular-hat off his head and tossed it at Peter. Peter dodged out of the way of the flying shield-like weapon, only to realize it was ricocheting off the trees and headed right back to him.
It's like he's the Captain America of this universe! Peter thought as he dodged the flying hat and twisted enough to land on his feet. However, his spider-sense flared up, alerting Peter to the fact that Rand was descending on him.
TAP!
Peter skidded back as Rand tagged him in his chest. He was quick to jump back onto his feet as Rand advanced on him. Peter grabbed his arm and quickly flung him through the air and towards one of the trees. Rand spun around and planted his feet on the tree before spring-boarding off it and back towards Peter. The webslinger leapt into the air, flipping over the Kyuzo and kicking him in the back which forced him to land hard on the ground.
Peter landed behind Rand as the Kyuzo got back up, laughing as he did.
"Is he laughing?" Peter asked.
"Yes. Apparently he enjoyed that. You have earned his respect." Tannette said.
"Oh, well that's good." Peter said sheepishly.
"We need to continue on." Rahm Kota said.
"Right. We're ready to go as well." Tannette said.
The Rebel strike team looked at the odd group of former prisoners.
"Really? You want to join us?" Oola asked the Mirialan woman.
"Against the Empire. Yes." Mara answered for the group.
"Can we trust them?" Maris asked.
"Some times trust requires a leap of faith." Kota said.
"That doesn't answer my question." the apprentice grimaced.
"Very good." Kota smiled at his apprentice for seeing through his wide anecdote. "But we have a common enemy. That is a good place to start."
"Okay. That I can buy."
And with that, Peter and his allies gained five new allies to their mission against the Empire.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The group continued to travel until they arrived at the Shield Generator. They saw a large landing platform where a shuttle was just taking off and heading into space. Behind it was a massive transmitting dish, which was projecting the energy field around The Death Star II.
It was almost mid-day when Rahm Kota and his party was met by Han Solo and his group.
"Kota." Han said to the aged Jedi Master.
"Solo." Kota said to the former smuggler.
Naturally, the two groups were shocked to find that their ranks had now expanded.
But it was Captain America who started things off.
"I thought you said that Spider-Man was with your other group." Captain America asked General Solo.
"He is." Solo said.
"I don't see him." the super soldier said.
"What? You mean..." Maris said, looking discreetly at Peter, who was dressed in his Alliance uniform and cloak to hide his costume.
"He's here." Tigra said as she went over to the group, her enhanced sense of smell searching through the group of humans and aliens. She paused when she came to Peter Parker. "You!" she smiled as she grabbed Peter and hugged him tightly.
All eyes focused on the pair, even as Peter struggled to stand up on his own feet.
"Hey! Hands off!" Oola shouted as she pulled Peter away from the weretiger woman.
"Oooh! Got a possessive girlfriend, have you, Spidey?" Tigra smirked.
"Yeah, kind of." Peter smirked.
"He's Spider-Man? He's a kid!" Johnny said as he pointed at Peter.
Peter smirked as he suddenly leapt into the air, tumbling over the blond-haired young man and landing behind him. Johnny turned around just in time to see Peter throw his hand forward, a small spray of webbing sprayed over his mouth.
"Hopefully that will keep your mouth from flapping too much, Firebug." Peter said with a smile.
Captain America and Tigra smirked.
"He's Spider-Man alright." Captain America said.
"He's cute too." Tigra said with a laugh.
Johnny however, fumed as he suddenly lit his head on fire, burning off the webbing over his mouth.
"Okay, okay, okay. He's Spider-Man." Johnny admitted.
"So who are these guys?" Maris Brood asked.
"They're friends and allies from my world." Peter said. "Tigra and Captain America are members of The Avengers, of which I'm a part-time member. And Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, is a member of The Fantastic Four." he explained.
"But you've got other friends as well, don't you?" Captain America asked.
"Yes. This is..." Peter began to say.
"ROOOWWFFFF!" Chewie shouted.
"ARRAAAAHHHH!" Tarful shouted.
The two Wookies hugged each other tightly.
"Old friends." Peter finished.
"Yeah." Johnny said.
"Chewie knows him?" Leia asked.
"Yeah. That's Tarful, Wookiee chieftain from Kashyyyk." Maris said.
"What's he doing here?" Leia asked.
"Good question." Han wondered the same thing.
"And who are these?" Tigra asked as she looked at Kota's group.
"This is Maris Brood and her master, Rahm Kota. This is Tannette, Rand, Laurenanna, Mara Jade, and you already met Tarful." Peter introduced.
The rest of the introductions, and explanations, were made, and the two groups, now one, were quick to get back to business.
"The main entrance to that control bunker is on the far side of that landing platform. This isn't going to be easy." Leia said as she analyzed the readouts on her scanner.
"Don't worry. Chewie and me got into places more heavily guarded than this." Han said to her.
Wicket the Ewok started talking. C-3PO replied back in Ewokese.
"What's he saying?" Leia asked.
"He says there's a secret entrance on the other side of the ridge." 3PO translated.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
