When the procession finally made it's way into the castle, Ron was far ahead of both Harry and Hermione. He went directly to his room, did not stop for the feast, which had Percy slightly worried, but Molly took him to the side and the two were having a quiet chat when Hermione approached.

"He raced off to the dormitory," said Percy, panicked, "I do hope he's alright, we're all grieving right now, he should be with his family-"

Ginny pushed him, "Don't be a right git, Perce," and her face fell, "he's been through more than all of us. He and Harry were in prison and-"

Molly turned to her daughter suddenly, "What are you talking about?"

Ginny clapped a hand to her mouth. Hermione paled. Molly saw this immediately and her eyes widened.

Everyone soon saw the witch that had killed Bellatrix Lestrange appear from within the depths of the portly Weasley matriarch.

"WHAT HAPPENED? PRISON! WHAT ARE YOU LOT NOT TELLING ME?!"

Hermione was first to try to calm her down. No one else dared.

"Why don't we talk about this in the Common-"

"Excuse me, Hermione, but I don't think you know who you are talking to. I am Ronald's MOTHER and I will know what happened to have my son be imprisoned when you three were out chasing all manner of Dark creatures!"

Everyone that had been settling down to eat had now stopped to watch as the conversation escalated by the Gryffindor tables. Harry was underneath the cloak, so as to avoid attention, and was standing by the Head Table, where he had been trying to slip a note to McGonagall about commissioning a portrait for Snape and was now frozen in horror as he saw the oncoming storm but was powerless to stop it.

"Miss Granger, you WILL tell me what trouble you got into to have my son get thrown in some kind of Dark prison, you could have been killed!-you-where were you during all this?"

Hermione said nothing.

"You were the smartest of the three of them!" Mrs. Weasley was crying now, sobbing. "Why didn't you get them out?!-"

Something in Hermione snapped.

"-BECAUSE I WAS BUSY BEING TORTURED!"

All eyes were on her. She could feel them, watching, wondering...

"...by Bellatrix Lestrange."

Ah, now those same eyes were pitying, some angry, there were a few mutters of "Mudblood" but these were quickly hushed.

Bellatrix skills in torture had been notorious.

Molly put a hand to her mouth and made a strangled sound. She stepped forward, arms stretched out, "Oh, Hermione, I didn't-"

She couldn't bear it.

She ran.

Ron was pacing angrily in the Common room when she reached the doorway. He was muttering to himself.

"..wish I could've seen those cowards die, I wish I had killed them myself!..." He stopped his tirade upon seeing Hermione enter, her chest heaving from her flight.

The look on her face spoke volumes.

They embraced without speaking.
