Author's Note: I know most of the people who has voted on the poll has said no to Sabo getting a Logia Devil Fruit. But is something that's really important on the plot, especially because it concerns Akainu and saving Luffy and Ace.

And you people may ask yourselves, why and how so? Let me explain. Akainu's Devil Fruit, the Magu Magu no Mi is based off magma. What kind of power could possibly oppose that power? Don't you think that would be water? If someone had that kind of ability, wouldn't it be able to nullify Akainu's ability? That's why I've decided to get a Logia Devil Fruit for Sabo. So, after this speech, do you still think Sabo shouldn't get another Devil Fruit since they're saving Ace and hence the Mera Mera no Mi won't be available anymore?

Chapter 9: Battling it out in the Inferno Hell

It all had come down to how it had been before. Bon Kurei, Buggy, Mr. 3 and Luffy ended up falling accidentally one level after another and the trap was already set for them. Much like the last time the Straw Hat captain had infiltrated twenty years ago. As he leapt to the floor from the falling rock, Luffy sighed as he watched the others discuss how they had gotten all the way down to Level Four.

Damn if it wasn't hot and he was, once more, hungry. His nose picked up the scent coming from the kitchen and a chill ran through his spine. Too many memories of what had happened all those years ago, nevertheless it was now that it was happening and he hated this feeling of nostalgia, because it was far from being a pleasant reminder of his previous failure.

Without even saying a word to the others and knowing that Bon-chan would follow him, Luffy ran towards the smell of meat he was getting.

"Straw-chan, wait for me!" he heard the Okama yell not far behind him. And despite the fact that he knew that the poison guy was coming, he wouldn't stop, he'd try to fight back and could just hope that not everything would end up like the last time. But deep down, the raven-haired young man knew that nothing would change much. At least not with a man as dangerous as Magellan. Despite the fact that he now knew how to use Haki, it didn't change the fact that he hadn't traveled back with his the immunity to poison that Chopper had diagnosed him with. Well, not much like immunity but maybe a strong resistance to it.

He hadn't advanced much before the prison guards began to appear. Fate repeated itself once more in front of his very eyes and all he could do was get them out of his way. In truth, he had expected this much- but the hardest part was yet to come.

As he got another wave of guards out of his way, Luffy watched as a drop of a purplish gore fell on the floor in front of him and the gasp Bon Kurei let out behind him confirmed him his suspicions. The poison guy had arrived.

"S-Straw-chan…" the other murmured and the raven-haired pirate could sense the fear in that high-pitched voice he knew so well. "M-Magellan… Straw-chan, we have to run…"

"You mice…" the Chief Warden hissed as he looked down on the raven-haired pirate in front of him.

The guards around began to retreat out of fear. "C-Chief…! W-wait, please!" They begged, trying to get away from the poison-man. "Everyone, get out of here! We're gonna get caught up…" another panted "… in the Chief's poison if we stay here…!"

"Straw-chan, you mustn't fight him…! That's the Chief Warden of Impel Down, Magellan! He's the Doku Doku no Mi user! He's made of poison! We've got to run! That guy's too dangerous!" Bentham yelled.

"Poison, huh?"

"That's right, Straw Hat Luffy" Magellan said. "To think that you would actually break into this gaol with all its long history of impenetrability… As Chief Warden of Impel Down, I take it as a personal insult. Oh, I'm aware of what's your goal in breaking in here. I will not allow you to reach where Portgas D. Ace's being held!" Luffy looked at him fiercely. So all was coming down to this, again. Once more this guy would get in his way to get to his brother's side. "I don't know when or how you've managed to penetrate our defenses, but I assure you that I'll make you tell me."

"Like hell I will. I'd rather die!" Luffy retorted back.

"Straw-chan…" Bon Kurei sobbed. "Quickly, this way! How do you plan to beat a guy whose whole body is poison?! You can't even touch him! We've got to head back to the lake of blood and turn right there! Forget the food; let's just head straight on down to Level Five!"

"Useless… Before the stairway leading to that level I've placed three demon guards and a Chief there lying in wait. All the routes for you to escape are blocked. There's no way out of the Inferno Hell! Hydra!"

"Annoying guy!" Luffy grunted as the attack began to fall on the both of them and they barely dodged it. He could fight some if he had room to prepare his Haki, but those long-ranged attacks were a pain.

"Don't let that touch you, Straw-chan! That Hydra is made of paralyzing poison, if it so much as touches you, it will act on your nervous system and the pain will be so severe that it will eventually kill you!"

"Get out of my combat range, you fools!"

"Our deepest apologies!"

The raven-haired dodged two more attacks and stretched his arms to grab onto one of the serrated blocks that hung from the ceiling to avoid another Hydra.

"Let's see you following me up here!"

"Chloro Ball."

"Damn it, I forgot about that…" Luffy muttered as he jumped to another place before that thing exploded.

He stretched a hand and grabbed one of the guards' masks and put it on. "Heh, good thing I avoided the explosion and have been able to steal one of these…"

Once he had the mask on, Magellan followed him with his ability and jumped in front of him. But he soon realized that it had been a pretty bad idea to lure the Chief Warden to such a tiny space. He was protected, somehow, from the poisonous gas but in such a small place he couldn't move as he wanted to. The Straw Hat Pirate barely avoided the poison-imbued punch and when he looked at the wall he saw it melt away.

"Crap…" he muttered as he jumped away. Again, Magellan charged against him and Luffy was forced to jump once more, this time off the floor. "Not again…" he yelped as he stretched his leg in his Stamp attack to avoid falling into the boiling blood bellow him.

"You still refuse to come with me quietly?" the poison-man said.

"Like hell. I'm gonna go and get Ace back. Then we're outta here," Luffy retorted, entering Gear Second as he spoke. "Like I'd go and die before I get to him. I'll never let him get executed or let him die in any way!" He lifted his head to face Magellan, the rage burning in his eyes. "I don't care what you say or if I'd lose to you if I don't fight back. I'd rather sacrifice these hands of mine than lose to someone like you!" As he imbued his arms with Busoshoku Haki, he began to stretch them. "Gomu-Gomu no… Jet Bazooka!" The impact of his attack echoed off the walls of the Inferno Hell as Magellan fell on his knees with his hands holding his stomach.

Far away from Impel Down, Sabo stopped on one of the many islands around the Grand Line. His journey to Marineford was far from over but somehow he knew that Luffy wouldn't reach Ace in time. Despite the fact that he probably could use Haki now, it was highly improbable that he'd leave unscathed from his confrontation with the prison's Chief Warden. Not even Haki made him immune to poison.

As he set foot on the island he heard some voices not far away from where he was. Probably pirates but as he listened closely he found out what were they talking about.

"So this is one of the Legendary Devil Fruits…" one of them said.

"What will you do, Captain?" another chimed in.

"Sell it, of course. I won't get cursed and be unable to swim."

"That's our Captain!" Someone cheered.

Lucky, Sabo thought, smirking. Those idiots shouldn't talk about these things in the open. The blond straightened up and peeked at them. Well, they surely looked weak, so it shouldn't be a problem to steal that Fruit from their grasp and if the Captain wasn't already a Devil Fruit user, his crew wasn't either. But looking at them up close he could tell they were about to get knocked out due to the booze so he only had to wait until those men fell asleep, which wouldn't take too long for it to happen.

Well, well. As I said on the Author's Note up there, I do appreciate that all of you have voted in the poll, but I really need Sabo with another Devil Fruit ability if I want both Luffy and Ace's lives to be spared.
