Chapter 14: Discovery
A week has passed since I once again began training and since then things between and Kyuubi-sama have changed a lot. He seems to have become a bit kinder towards me and has taken me aside for private moments occasionally. Right now we are both lying down in one of the Cherry Blossom gardens. Sometimes these small moments of peace and quiet are good for us.
"Byakko, we should be able to tell later today if you are kitted," Kyuubi reminds me as he looks up at the falling Cherry Blossoms.
Cherry Blossoms only last for a couple of day up to maybe a week or two at most before they fall. This causes them to be the most beautiful flowers in my opinion. I know it is weird to love the flower that is your namesake; well my human namesake anyways. He calls me Byakko now which seems to be a pet name for me. I find it funny but yet comforting that he seems to like me enough for a pet name and not just call me the demeaning one he gave me upon our arrival.
"It would be nice to know. Just understand one thing Kyuubi, I know that you have a bad experience with my home but I want them to know the human realm as well as it is a part of my history," I tell him.
"I will not allow that. None of them shall be trapped like I was," he growls glaring at me.
With a sigh, I reply, "Kyuubi understand that the kits would understand much about the human world before I permitted them to leave. I would also have them in henges. I would be with them. Do you dare to think I would ever allow any harm to come to those I consider mine?"
His growl tells me so. I rise to my paws with a loud cat like hiss.
"From what you have seen from within Naruto, one would think that you would know the truth. But, it appears you do not believe in me or what I have done. Apparently both of us are having trust issues," I rush away from the gardens heading for the training area.
Opal steps out from beside the wall and jogs along behind me. Opal has been near me every day since the event with Kyuubi. She barely leaves me alone for anything. Everyone avoids me as they feel the dangerousness in my aura. I ignore them wanting to run off my anger. Once in the training area, I create a wild terrain with earth control jutsu. I force my body to move agilely through the rough terrain. Opal tries to keep up with me but I can hear her falling behind as her body is unused to such strenuous exercise. Towards the end of the course I created is a set of parallel walls. With a running leap, I jump onto the wall closest to me and begin running sideways and jumping back and forth between both walls.
I back flip off the end of the walls and run forward some more. After about twenty feet, I do an abrupt turn and do the training reverse while increasing my speed once more. It feels amazing to stretch my muscles in such a way after so long of not. I was trained to be flexible as water and as unbendable as metal. By the time I finish with the course, I am no longer angry and have burned some energy off.
When I arrive at the end of the course, I can see Opal and Sonya are waiting for me with some of the soldiers. Many of them are staring at me after seeing move like that. I motion with my tail for them to try it for themselves. Few of them can get to the wall but those that do are unable to keep themselves from falling and start growling at it.
"Apply chakra to your paws and moderate it until your feet stick," I hear Kyuubi command from behind me.
I turn around and glare at him. I wanted them to figure out the solution for themselves, and he had to go and ruin that. He just ignores my look and walks over to stand by me. We stand there and watch the soldiers for a little bit.
"Please come with me Byakko," he asks me turning towards a garden nearby.
I nod my head willing to try and talk things over. We had both taken things a bit too far with our argument earlier. We walk over the southern bridges and he stops by one of the trees and I lay down near him; he comes and lays down behind me laying his head on my chest.
"I apologize for earlier but this going to take some getting used to for the both of us. I did not mean to show any distrust of you yourself but I have experienced nothing but pain in that world," he tells me in a near whisper.
"I understand that but they need to understand part of their heritage and be given a chance to choose which they would rather be a part of, Kyuubi," I explain smiling at him.
His growl is one of anger but he stops shortly after and begins to actually think about it. He sighs but nods his head softly in slight agreement.
"Fine but they will be taught thoroughly about both words and be raised partially in both worlds. Their first five years will be spent here and then a couple weeks every six months there every year unless they wish to spend less time there or here. You will teach them everything you can," he demands.
"Of course, Kyuubi, you may have spent twenty years there but you know very little about the world itself," I reply with a laugh in my voice.
He just shakes his head. We both lay there in companionable silence and watch the training from a distance. More have reached the wall and a few are able to make it a couple of feet in without falling.
"I remember when you taught …." he stops with a sniff.
His pause makes me look at him and I can see happiness light up in his eyes. His head moves down to my stomach and he makes this soothing purr like growl sound in the back of his throat. I can guess at what he is happy about.
"You are kitted my darling," he tells me looking me in the eyes to gauge my feelings towards this event.
I smile and begin a song of joy. Kyuubi joins in a second later followed by the soldiers and the howl of Opal and Sonya. The sound was one of joy as everyone found out that the Lord had finally kitted a demoness.
I am sorry for the wait with the last chapter. I have been very busy with work and things of life. Even now I am trying to continue the story. I would but this is a good spot to stop because I am tired and it is 3:30 am where I am. Good night and please leave reviews.
