So yeah, I decided to make this chapter into a poem. It's set right after sectionals in season four. The one where Marley fainted. I hope you like it
You might notice that most of my cover pictures are gone. (And now my avatar is gone too since fanfiction's acting up) this is not a mistake. Only I deleted all the cover pictures except for the ones with pictures I own. The story and everything is still all the same.
R is for Rose
Marley Rose closed her eyes and hit her head in the wall
While beating herself up for everything that had gone wrong
She mostly just wanted to curl up and cry her eyes out
But she knew, that even after everything she just had to keep strong
Marley's mum- Mrs. Millie Rose sat right nearby
She hadn't said much yet but kept on stroking her daughter's hair
So at last she spoke up and asked the question she actually didn't need to
"You need to eat. What would you like to eat my dear?"
Marley closed her eyes and waited
She actually didn't quite know what to say
She could have lied more like she had done before
But all the lies had already been destroyed earlier this day
"I'm actually fine mum, so much happened earlier
Right now I don't actually need anything at all
I know what you think but I have eaten so it is not possible
That I hadn't would not have been the reason I did black out and fall"
Mrs. Rose stroke her daughter's hair over once again
and then stood up while Marley had to force herself not to shout
She didn't quite want her mother to leave but before
She came up with anything to say her mother reached the door and went out
Marley leaned her head back towards the arm support
She didn't really know what to do, nor what to say
To her friends the next time she saw them, she had lied to them all
And then she had ruined everything for them, made them lose sectionals that day
When Mrs. Rose came back into the kitchen holding a plate, glass and knife and fork
And Marley sat up again
She- the younger wanted to keep on being quiet
But she couldn't keep things to herself, not right there, not right then
"I ruined everything for everyone didn't I mum?
They all hate me now don't they?
That I refused to eat made us all lose sectionals
They can't forgive that right away!"
Millie Rose looked down at her daughter and suppressed a sigh
She'd never wished for her daughter to feel as bad
As she had for a long time by now and Mrs. Rose
was beating herself up that she never seen it had
"I'm sure they won't hate you my dear
But now, try to concentrate on the dinner I brought for you
It's not much. It's not bad, only fish and potatoes
And some carrots and lemon too"
Marley looked down at the food and took the fork
Then only looked up at her mum again with tears in her eyes
And tried to come up with anything to say, the tension was so thick
She needed something that would make it all good and break the ice
But before the younger Rose had come up with anything to say
Her mother spoke first again
"Marley, do you remember I used to tell when you were little and didn't eat your vegetables
Although I'm not so sure you loved or hated that story right then"
"It was about that we are Roses and that Roses need to grow
At first they are just a seed and we are only small
So to grow up and get bigger, taller and beautiful
We need to eat, we need to drink and sleep more than nothing at all"
We need to eat vegetables with vitamins and fish or meat with proteins
And much, much else or you cannot become beautiful or grow
If you just eat when you're hungry and sleep when you're tired and don't worry
Then living healthy like that will in your beauty will show"
"But there is no easy way around it
To grow and stay beautiful you need to eat it all
I'm not trying to put too much pressure on you darling
But I've never been so afraid as when I on the stage saw you fall"
"I cannot believe that I let things go so far
And still I couldn't see
So I won't let things happen and let you feel bad anymore
So if you can't eat for yourself, do it for me"
Marley waited for a second or two and looked down at her dinner
Took a bite, and showed her mum that it was good
And continued even though it was hard
Not to show the tears, she soon pulled up her hood
But Millie Rose understood what was going on
And as soon as Marley had eaten up she hugged her tight
And when Marley started drifting off she reached up
And to help her sleep, turned off the light
And there and then
Marley Rose fell asleep
Her mother had to leave to take the dishes
But Marley Rose was still sleeping too deep
Millie Rose watched her daughter sleeping coming back into the room
Her very much beloved and very beautiful Marley Rose
And with that we for now leave the Roses
And it's time for this poem to come to a close
