The weather in Ooo was slowly transitioning into Autumn weather and the nights were getting cooler. That didn't stop the preparation for the Halloween ball, to be held at the Candy Castle by Princess Bubblegum. There was to be food, games, and a marathon of horror films shown till the following days dawn. Needless to say, the residents of the Tree Fort were excited. Finn, in honor of his fallen idol, decided to dress up like Billy. Jake had opted to dress like a mailman, since he yearned to be one. BMO dressed up as a detective, and Marshall, well he didn't really want to dress up. Which, in turn, upset Finn.

"Dude! You gotta dress up! If you don't you'll be lame!" The blonde stated as he was busy working on an outfit to resemble his idols.

"I'm not one for, ya know, dressing up... That's kinda childish Finny." Marshall said matter-of-facetely.

Finn huffed in annoyance and stood to face his boyfriend who was floating upside down next to him, "If you don't dress up, I'm not going to the party with you, man."

"What! That's a low blow.." The vampire flicked his forked tongue at the blonde before succumbing to his wishes. A slouch in posture and a crossing of arms, he sighed and nodded in agreement. "Finnnnne."

With that, Finn smiled and plopped onto his rear again to add the last touches to his outfit. "Okay, go find a costume Marshall."

The gray-skinned male huffed and nodded before leaving the fort. He had been in Ooo for awhile know, so he decided to go to his female counterparts house to get her help on a decent, non-lame costume. So, after a short while of flying, the male arrived and tapped on her door with his knuckles. Soon enough, the Queen herself answered the door and quirked a brow at his presence.

"Yo, what brings you here Marshall?" She spoke as she leaned her body against the door frame.

"Ugh.. I need your help finding a cool Halloween outfit or else Finn won't go to that party with me." He rolled his eyes in obvious discontent.

"Pfft, seriously? Okay man, I'll help you. I think I've got just the thing for you." A sly grin crept across her paled features and she made her way up to her bedroom with Marshall following close behind.

Once in the room, Marceline gathered items, shoved them in Marshall's arms and then pushed him into the bathroom. The male sighed and blinked at the clothing, they looked oddly familiar. He shook away that feeling and began to absentmindedly pull them all on. He had no idea what he was even wearing until he broke from his daze and looked into the large mirror in front of him. He was dressed exactly like Finn. So, the raven-haired male left the bathroom and glared at his female counterpart.

"What the lump?" He held out his arms and motioned to the outfit. "Where did you even get these!?"

"Eh, I use them to mess with people sometimes. It's pretty fun since they always think it's Finn." Marceline laughed as she looked at Marshall. "I think it suit you, dude." That sly grin reappeared as she moved a hand to wave him off. "Alright, I helped, go home to Finn now."

Marshall sighed and just gave up, he didn't feel like finding anything else and technically, on him it was a costume. Once he gathered his things, he flew back to the fort and stood in front of Finn who was decked out in his own costume. The blonde took one look at the vampire and tilted his head in confusion.

"What even... I... You're dressed like me..?"

"Marceline helped me... Don't ask, this is what I'm wearing..." The vampires cheeks grew a blue tint as he turned his head to avert his smaller lovers gaze. Of course he'd be embarrassed, his counterpart dressed him up to look like his boyfriend. Anyone would be, because man, that ain't cool.

"Okay then dude, wear whatever. I mean, you're just dressed like the raddest guy ever!" Finn grew a childish grin as he grasped Marshall's hand and ran from the tree fort onward to the rose colored Candy Kingdom.

As the two approached the kingdom, Finn smiled wider at the decorations. The candy people had cut out paper bats and strung them over the city. Orange and black lights twinkled in the twilight, illuminating the city in a festive glow. The real decorations were inside the castle though. Finn led Marshall into the castle and a gasp escaped his lips and then he began to fidget with childish joy. The entire castles interior was coated in orange and black decorations. Spiders, fake of course, lined the walls, holographic ghosts appeared at random throughout the room, black streamers were strewn all over the place and some spooky music blared. All around, the entire castle was bustling with excitement. Finn drug Marshall all around the castle and forced him to be sociable, and all around it was a fun night. Finn forced Marshall to dance with him during any slow songs, because, that's what couples do right? Enough of that though, the greatest enjoyment he got was seeing everyone's costumes. PB was dressed like a bandit, LSP was dressed like a queen, Marceline came dressed like a fairy, and so on. It was just an overall nice atmosphere to be in.

Soon though, the party came to an end and Finn was headed towards a candy coma and had to be flown home by Marshall. Finn dangled over the vampires shoulder and used a hand to pat his lovers back.

"Thanks dude.. I know you didn't really wanna go to that thing, but I' m glad you did. It's totes cool."

Marshall sighed and nodded in response, he really didn't want to go but in the end he did in fact have fun. "No, I had fun, so did you. That's all that matters, dude."

So, the two returned to the treehouse only for Finn to pass out into that sugar coma, and Marshall took off his costume to pull on his usual clothing before sleeping with his overexcited boyfriend.

A/N: This isn't too good, but I was in the Halloween spirit and wanted to write a small chapter on it. Thank you, and I hope you all continue to read and enjoy!
