Chapter 24: The Last Blade?
"You can't possibly be serious!" Janice shouted as she blocked the sword. "You do know that I can take down even the 'mighty' Miraak and Harkon with ease!"
"Don't be so full of yourself." Jane said as she came out from where she was hiding.
"The Dragonborn! Would you help me in putting an end to this dragon's reign?" The man asked as he tries to put more pressure on the sword.
"She's my daughter you maniac!" Jane shouted as she drew her sword.
"Your daughter? The only offspring you have and you let them turn your own daughter into a dragon? What kind of a mother are you?" The man said as he pushed Janice's sword away.
"It was never a choice I had, it was either me redeeming the Septim bloodline with an heir worthy the Dragonborn title or not taking action and see the Empire fall into chaos like how Skyrim had." Jane shouted to the man. "Stand down or face the consequences of your actions!"
"Never!" The man screamed as he stabbed the sword through Janice's abdomen, eliciting a frantic scream from the wounded Dragonborn as the enchantments take effect.
"Janice!" Lydia and Jane cried out as Jane slashed her sword down on the quick dodging assassin.
Pulling the sword out painfully, Janice quickly catches the grip of the sword and threw it into the assassin's thigh before fainting.
[Bedroom, 3 P.M. The next day]
"Ugh, what happened?" Janice asked as she painfully tries to get up before a sharp pain in her abdominal area sends her back down.
"You must rest, Your Majesty. You were hurt pretty bad, our top healers recommends you take some time off to heal. Magic can only stabilize your condition, your wounds were too deep." The servant on duty said.
"Sorry I ran away…" Derkeethus said from his seat next to Janice.
"Its fine, he would have tried to harm you anyway. By the way, what happened to him after I threw his sword?" Janice asked as she clutched the now bandaged area for support.
"He fled as your mother and I tried to wake you up. He won't so easily flee the next time I see him, I swear!" Derkeethus replied angrily.
"So you hid instead of taking action..." Janice replied with sarcasm.
"I was getting my... bow?" Derkeethus stuttered as he thinks of an answer.
"Whatever. I wonder though, could June and I use our combined powers to heal this wound?" Janice wondered.
"Our best healers managed to pool all their healing powers and still only been able to restore the tissues and muscles deep within the wound. The enchantments on the blade are still having an adverse effect on your body, so it is best that you rest." The servant replied.
"Aww, finally awakened? If I was you, I would have better watched myself around the enemy next time. I hope that doesn't leave a scar on MY body now." The cheery voice of June sounded from the black ring on Janice's finger.
"Great, I have June to annoy me for the rest of my recovery period." Janice loathed at the idea.
"It is not that bad, we can share interesting stories from our past! You have yet to discuss about your childhood and growing up! I still have plenty of stories to tell from my adventure in the other universe!" June's ecstatic voice sounded from Derkeethus' side of the bed as she materialises.
"I guess so, we already heard too much from you though, imagining it probably gave us all headaches. I will speak of my childhood." Janice said as the servant adjusts Janice's pillows so that she could sit upright comfortably.
"Yay! Storytime!" June shouted as she moved closer to Janice.
"First, a question. Why are you so hyper all the time?" Janice asked.
"I am a spirit, I have endless energy to tap into, of course I will be hyper!" June replied.
"And extremely obnoxious. Anyway, on with the story." Janice said.
"I will be outside if you need me, Your Majesty." The servant said as she leave the room to give Janice some privacy.
[Flashback, Janice 5 years old]
"Mom! What is going on? I have these white scales growing on my body!" Janice cried out as she stumbled into the kitchen holding her stomach area where a white patch of scales were growing out.
"Uhh… Uhhh… Let me see." Jane said nervously.
[Janice's bedroom]
"I think it is best that I continue this story from here." Jane interrupted. "I know how this story ends better than anyone, even you. Thank the divines that Akatosh changed your memory…"
"He did what?! No wonder I have holes in my memory." Janice exclaimed softly, anymore and it would have hurt her.
"Well, at least you stopped setting the house on fire or freezing everything with your breath after that." Jane said as she continues the story.
[Flashback, Jane POV]
What is wrong with her now? First the fire, then the frost breath that froze her meals every now and then. Hmm… I think she might be turning into her dragon form judging by those scales. Jane thought as she examined the scales like an alchemist examining their handiwork.
"Mom, what is wrong with me?" Janice asked as the scales reflect light like a prism.
"I don't know, but I won't worry too much about it, it should go off tomorrow, I think." Jane nervously replied.
"That does not sound very reassuring, mom." Janice replied as she pull her shirt back down.
"Just trust me on this one, now, go practice your sword skills, I have lunch to prepare." Jane said.
{Lunch time}
"Are you really sure about this, mom? It just finished covering my torso!" Janice complained as she ate her lunch.
"It should be alright. You are special, my dear, destined to be a great warrior and leader in some cases. You are just more special than any other hero." Jane said as she stroke Janice's head reassuringly. "It should wear off soon."
"Alright mom..." Janice sighed as she returned to finishing up her meal.
What am I going to do? She is probably turning into a dragon and there is nothing I can do to stop it, unless... Jane thought cunningly as she eyes the Akatosh shrine sitting at the back of the house.
After persuading Janice to practice some magic spells on a dummy made of a potato sack with straw stuffed inside, Jane went to the shrine to pray.
Whispering, Jane asked the shrine of the Time god to transport her into Akatosh's realm for a private talk. With a breeze, she was no longer in front of the shrine, but in front of a rather unsurprised flaming dragon.
"I guess you wanted to request an explanation to Janice's condition?" Akatosh boomed out.
"Yes," Jane calmly replied.
"Well, I was just as surprised as you when this came up on one of the timelines I was monitoring, how it became fixed was my fault, though. You see, this timeline leads to a much favourable future than the others, so I chose this timeline instead. As for her condition, just monitor it for now, ideally the Khajiit in her should be able to overcome her dragon side." Akatosh explained. "Seek me out again if you need help."
"Alright," Jane replied before Akatosh teleports her away.
{Some time later}
"Mom! My tail has changed!" Janice screamed as she ran to the kitchen grabbing her white, scaly dragon tail. "It is like an Argonian's tail or something."
"I think it shouldn't be a cause of concern, I have asked around, it should go down by tomorrow." Jane calmly replied.
"But mom! I don't think it is part of the growing process!" Janice complained.
"Stop questioning it and maybe it will go away!" Jane rebutted as she brought down the meat chopper onto some carrots.
"Alright mom..." Janice sighed after recovering from the shock.
{Dinner time}
"Are really sure about this?" J'Zhar whispered.
"Of course, Akatosh told me it will be alright, unless he is going to change the timeline again." Jane replied softly.
"Off to bed with you, you got a long day ahead tomorrow." Jane said after clearing the table.
"But mom, it is not even seven!" Janice complained as she fiddle with her new dragon tail.
"No 'buts'!" Jane commanded.
{Next morning}
A loud scream rang through the house followed by a roar of fire as Janice woke up to find herself a fully developed dragon body, well, small enough to fit in the house at least. "Stop screaming already!" Jane shouted as she use ice magic to put out the fire.
"Mom! How did this happen? What is this thing anyway?" Janice questioned as she flail her wings in the air, creating drafts that helps the fire spread.
"Stop doing what you are doing and stay still! The entire house would go up in flames if you keep that up!" Jane shouted. "I will get to the bottom of this after I put out the fire, I promise!"
"Alright mom! Though I feel extremely hungry for some meat now." Janice said as she calmed down, turning her head to face her mother. "Can I have some horse meat for breakfast?"
"No you can't, just stay here and don't do anything stupid, I will go get some information about your condition." Jane instructed.
Without another word, Jane turned and headed straight to the shrine, though before any sort of prayer can be made, she was already in Aetherius.
"So, I sort of did another timeline swap and this happened." Akatosh immediately explained to the nervous mother.
"What do I do now?" Jane questioned the God of Time.
"Just convince her that today and yesterday is all a dream and that she will awaken the next day in her usual self. I will make sure that happens." Akatosh answered. "In the mean time, you might as well teach her how to be a dragon."
"What do you mean by that?" Jane asked before being shot with a blinding light.
"So you turn me into a dragon." Jane said as she examined herself.
"What better way to teach than being a dragon yourself?" Akatosh replied before sending Jane back to Nrin.
{Back home}
"So you are telling me that this all just a dream?" Janice asked as Jane explained everything to Janice.
"Yes, and that I am a dragon because you dream about me turning into a dragon." Jane replied.
"Cool! Can you teach me how to fly?" Janice's eager voice rang around the house.
"Of course I can! Anything is possible in dreams!" Jane exclaimed. "But first, you need to get off that bed."
"How mom?" Janice eagerly asked.
{After a couple hours}
"This is so much fun mom!" Janice yelled as she flew around outside of the house.
"Don't go too far or people will see you!" Jane warned.
"But this is just a dream! No one is going to care!" Janice shouted her reply.
"Well, in your dream it does matter!" Jane shouted as she went into a hover over the house.
"Alright mom, I will follow you." Janice sighed as she landed on the house.
"We will be going high above the clouds so no one will see us, come on." Jane said before flying off.
"Alright, I guess..." Janice trailed off as the idea of going through wet clouds fills her mind with the instinctive dread of being a cat.
"Come on, it will be fun." Jane told Janice as she flew a little higher. "Dragons are supposee to be fearless! A little wet shouldn't be encumbering us!"
With that, Janice took off and followed her mother higher into the clouds. Both dragons felt the cold, wetness of the water vapour in the cloud. Jane felt the water and try to shrug it off, though she was internally dreading the experience. However, Janice was another story entirely. She was enjoying her time in the cloud and does not seem to mind the wetness she feels gathering around her body, the coldness clinging to her like how flames can engulf a wooden pillar smeared with alcohol.
"Mom! I kind of enjoying it here! It is nice and cool here. Don't you enjoy it too?" Janice shouted at her mother who is above the clouds, trying to get the warmth of the sun to dry her off.
She must be joking, I have never met another Khajiit that likes water. Jane thought to herself. "Glad you are enjoying it, Janice!" Jane called out.
"Hey mom! Remember that guy living near the river? Let's go visit him!" Janice called out.
"No! Let's just fly around." Jane said as Janice flew to eye level.
"Alright, I guess." Janice sighed before heading towards Solitude.
"Where are you going?" Jane asked.
"I want to see what Solitude - no - Skyrim looks like! I never had an opportunity like this!" Janice screamed.
"Promise me you won't do anything stupid!" Jane shouted as she tries to catch up.
How is she this fast? I can barely catch up with her! Must be because of that soul. Jane thought.
"Mom! The people look like ants from up here!" Janice shouted as she hover in place above Solitude.
"Yes, don't go down there though. Come on, we have much more to discover." Jane said as she finally caught up with Janice.
"Weeeee! I don't think I want this dream to end! This is so fun!" Janice said as she do loops while flying.
"Be careful!" Jane shouted as she follows the young Dragonborn.
{A few hours later}
"Ow... Hey!" Janice exclaimed as she got pinched on the wing by a large (Note 1) mudcrab. "Get off me!"
"Just let it be and it will be fine! It should stop pinching soon." Jane said before being pinched by smaller mudcrabs.
"Ow! Kill them! They are more than just annoying!" Jane shouted from the pain.
"That is what I thought." Janice said before blasting the mudcrab with an intense fire breath, killing and cooking it in the process.
"Nice fire breath," Jane said as she observed her daughter. "Let me try."
Using her knowledge of the fire breath shout, Jane breathed out a wall of fire to kill off the remaining smaller mudcrabs.
"Hey mom, this mudcrab is totally cooked, want to eat it?" Janice asked.
"No, just leave it there, besides I can cook lunch for us." Jane suggested.
"Where are we going to find dragon sized cutlery?" Janice asked.
"We don't need to cook, just roast a deer with our fire breath." Jane said as she took off.
"Alright, but wouldn't some hunters notice us?" Janice asked as the giant mudcrab sinks into the soft mud.
"Head for the hills, they won't spot us that easily." Jane said.
"Alright, mom." Janice replied as she took off.
Heading for the forest around Riften, Jane spot two deer out in a clearing. "There are two deers out in the open." Jane relayed to Janice.
"Alright!" Janice yelled before realising what she did. The deers scattered immediately.
"Aww..." Janice sighed.
"Great, you just announced our presence to anyone who is watching." Jane told Janice off. "We have to leave."
"Alright mom." Janice huffed.
In the harsh, cold northern region of Skyrim, a pair of sabre cat roam the cold tundra. Janice swooped down low and roasted the pair before they knew what hit them.
"They are ready to eat!" Janice announced proudly.
"Well, dragons are at the top of the food chain." Jane whispered to herself as she land near the carcass. "Good job."
After eating their fill, they went and visit more places.
[Janice's room]
"So you are telling me that that dream I had when I was a kid was totally real? What?!" Janice exclaimed in disbelief.
"You were supposed to not know about it, but I guess there is no use hiding the fact that you turned into a dragon when you were just five years old." Jane replied, "plus, it is an interesting story to pass the time here."
"So what other interesting stories from your past? I mean, you looked very skilled at such a young age, how is that possible?" Derkeethus asked.
"I am beginning to wonder how you have not even known about my daughter even after a year of marriage." Jane asked.
"Well, all she does was fighting, she rarely talk to me." Derkeethus answered back. "Even when she does, it was always about the objective at hand."
"Right, so no lovey-dovey couple talk then?" Jane's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Uh, well, we... Err..." Janice and Derkeethus stuttered together.
"I see, well nevermind." Jane said.
"Finally awake?" Alduin questioned as she flew into the room via an opened window. "Every fibre of me still wants to end you right now while you are down, hehe."
"In your current state, my mother could kill you so quickly that you would wish that Akatosh had never rescued you." Janice boast.
"Shut up!" Alduin shouted while the room roared with laughter.
"I want to know how you get strong!" June shouted after calming down.
"Alright, so here is the story on how I get good at killing things." Janice sighed.
[Flashback, 10 years ago]
"Mom, when are you letting me kill real targets? Training dummies are no fun at all!" Janice complained.
By this age, Janice is already a master in sword play and archery, but Jane still insists she pick up more skills, like magic and crafting.
"Not until you master how to use your flame spell!" Jane shouted from where she sas practicing her own skills on another dummy.
"But I hate that spell! I want to shoot fireballs from my hands!" Janice complained.
"You have to start from the basics, my dear." Jane replied as she beheaded the training dummy. "Damn, I might have to buy another dummy."
"Yay! Shopping trip!" Janice shouted.
"No, you stay here and practice your spells. I will do the shopping." Jane said as she left the cellar.
[Present day]
"So I practiced my spells while mother was out." Janice said.
"So you started early, I see. No wonder you are so strong, though I do wonder how a strong person like yourself got captured by mere soldiers." Alduin said.
"I was knocked unconscious!" Janice shouted. "Anyway, on with the story."
[Flashback 10 years ago]
Janice practices her spells until Jane got back. "So, how much did you train while I was gone?" Jane asked.
"Well, I am an adept in Destruction now. Can I please learn the firebolt spell now?" Janice asked with cute kitten eyes.
"Alright... Here." Jane sighed as she threw the spell book into Janice's hands.
"Alright!" Janice screamed as she dug into the spellbook, eager to learn the spell.
"Anyway, I saw a poster in the market today. It was about a fighting tournament between youngsters like yourself, you interested?" Jane said as she placed down the training dummy down.
"Sure, why not?" Janice replied immediately while nonchalantly firing off a firebolt into her charred training dummy. "Time to show off my skills!"
"It is at the end of this year…" Jane announced.
"Aww... Well, at least I have sometime to work on my other skills!" Janice screamed with enthusiasm.
"Honestly, you need to master blocking, there is only so much you can take before being injured." Jane said.
"Alright, but that is kind of boring. I want to learn how to sneak past people!" Janice exclaimed.
"You can learn that after you block this!" Jane exclaimed as she swung a wooden sword at Janice.
"But mom!" Janice exclaimed as she dodged the sword. "I don't have a shield!"
"Learn to block with your sword, shields are for losers!" Jane screamed as she swing the sword again.
{Competition day, Whiterun}
"Ha! A Khajiit? I am going to enjoy beating her ass. Those milk drinkers don't stand a chance!" A sixteen year old nord sneered from the fighters stands, his name was Bjon.
"Hey, want to bet she will lose in the first round?" Another nord offered.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the stands, Janice was practising with the weapons and armour given by the organisers for the competition. "Wooden swords and shields? What am I supposed to do with them? Break them? They are so flimsy!" Janice complained.
"You aren't suppose to be murdering anyone in this competition." Jane said.
"But they have to be joking with the quality of these swords, the wooden sword you use to train me isn't close to being this flimsy!" Janice complained as she bend her sword to prove her point while the other fighters just stare in awe at her strength.
"Alright, but you have no choice anyway, so shush, the competition is starting." Jane said.
"Welcome to the fifth junior fighting tournament! Today is a day where the boys turn into men and where girls become a proper lady…" The announcer started.
"Its starting! I can hardly wait!" Janice exclaimed excitedly.
"I hope the combatants know the rules! Rule one, no killing is allowed. Rule two, step out of the ring and you automatically lose. Last rule, combatants can quit at anytime by tapping out, doing so will qualify as a loss." The annoucer continued. "Let the battles commence without further delays! Round one..."
"How in the world did I end up in the last round to fight?! Arrgh! This is so unfair!" Janice complained as she looked at her standings on the competition board.
{After an antagonising hour}
"Last, but not least, is the first ever Khajiit fighter, Janice! Her opponent for this round is Rorold!" The announcer introduces as the two walk onto the platform.
Rorold is a strong, heavily built nord (note 2), a far cry for the skinny and small Janice.
"Haha! This battle would be so one sided! Haha! This should be fun to watch!" Bjon shouted from the stands.
"Go Janice! I know you can do it!" Jane screamed before all attention shifted to her. "What? It is not like she will lose or anything."
"Without further ado, let the round begin!" The announcer shouted.
"Go home little girl, this place is not for you." Rorold taunted.
"You should go home." Janice replied as she charges.
Rorold raised his shield, bracing for a small impact, that much he expected. Janice charges with all her strength. Wood splintered as the sword made impact with the shield. Janice's sword hand (note 3) let go of the useless wood and formed a fist. Before Rorold knew what was going on, his shield got smashed into pieces and the impact of the punch broke his left hand as well as sending him crashing straight into the audience stands, knocking him unconscious at the same time. The audience was left with their jaws hanging wide open.
"How...?" Bjon questioned to nobody in particular.
"That's my girl!" Jane cheered.
"That was too easy." Janice said as she rubbed her hand.
"What an astonishing result! The winner here is Janice!" The announcer shouted.
Some fighters are quivering in thier boots while others hope that they do not have to fight her in the upcoming rounds. As for the unconscious Rorold, he was seen being hauled off by his father.
"We will take a half hour break from now and we will be back for the quarter finals shortly." The announcer announce.
{30 minutes later}
"Alright, welcome back to the tournament!" The announcer eagerly shouted. "The first round shall be Janice vs Gelgor! Can the participants please step up?"
Shaking in his boots, Gelgor, a tall muscular nord, made his way towards the stage filled with dread, obviously rather scared about what could happen to him.
"Please go easy on me..." Gelgor whispered repeatedly.
"Sure, I could go easy on you." Janice said to Gelgor from the other side of the stage.
"How?!" Gelgor shouted in disbelief.
"I lip read. Now, prepare for battle!" Janice shouted her reply.
"Start the battle!" The announcer shouted with vigor.
Seizing the chance, Gelgor charged with his sword raised. Reaching Janice in a matter of seconds, Gelgor brought the sword down on Janice's head only to be blocked in a flash as Janice brought her shield up. "Too slow."
Not caring to reach for her flimsy sword, Janice delivered a small punch into the side of Gelgor, knocking him to the ground. Quickly, she immediately jumped on top of Gelgor and bend one of his arms backwards.
"This is your chance to quit before I do some serious damage." Janice warned as she increase the pressure on the trapped arm.
"You may be taking it easy on me, but I will not give in! Hyuah!" Gelgor shouted before manging to shove off the light weight Khajjit.
"How can you be so strong? Your weight is like a pillow!" Gelgor asked in surprise.
"My mom mentioned something about 'Dragonborn', but that is none of my business!" Janice replied as she shoved the wooden sword into Gelgor's side.
"If this is a real sword, you would be dead already, pay attention!" Janice said to the bewildered Gelgor before she launch a volley of attacks at him.
Driving him backwards while he block, Janice managed to force him to the edge of the stage. "Last chance to do something." Janice warned.
"I got nothing." Gelgor said before reversing over the edge.
"And that is a wrap! Gelgor could not stand up to the vicious attacks dish out against him and he fell off! This round goes to Janice!" The announcer shouted.
"Why didn't you just do what you did in the last round?" Jane asked Janice when she made her way back to the stands.
"Because he was afraid. Besides, he didn't want to fight me at all. So I go easy on him." Janice replied.
{After the semi finals}
"Welcome back! Now, we will decide who is the winner of this year's tournament! It ks the final match, everybody!" The announcer shouted. "We all know who is fighting who, give it up for Bjon and Janice!"
"I am not going to be beaten by some cat!" Bjon shouted as he steps up.
"Good luck!" Jane called out as Jaince steps up.
"Begin!" The announcer excitedly shouted.
Pacing carefully, Bjon watch Janice's every movement, anticipating a charge. Janice was also doing the same. When no one was making any moves, Bjon sees his opportunity to charge.
Charging with his sword up high and his shield protecting his body, Bjon strike down at the Khajiit. Dodging the blow, Janice grabbed him by the arms and threw him down to the ground, his weapon and shield discarded beside him.
"Got what it takes to do hand to hand combat?" Janice questioned the pinned teenager.
"I was expecting that, these weapons were not meant for us anyway." Bjon answered.
Punching Janice in the gut, Bjon managed to free himself and got up. Janice landed on her limbs, like how a cat would when falling. Quickly, taking his chance, Bjon kicked Janice to the edge of the stage where she avoided falling off by a hair. Getting up, she quickly charge at Bjon, delivering the knockout punch from her first round.
Bjon flew off the stage and landed in the stands, unconscious.
"And we have a winner! The first Khajiit to have ever participated has won!" The announcer ecstatically screamed.
[Present day]
"So that is how strong I am at ten." Janice ended off her story. "Of course, I've never stopped practicing."
"They never stood a chance!" June shouted.
"Would you calm down for once? Everyone here can hear you just fine." Jane scolded the ghost.
"So what exactly were you doing in Cyrodiil that day when you almost got your head cut off?" Derkeethus asked.
"I was running an errand for somebody, you know, stuff that everybody seems to want me to do that they could probably do it themselves." Janice replied.
"You are lying." Alduin said.
"How can you tell?" Janice questioned.
"I know my sister better than anyone." Alduin replied.
"Alright, so here is the real story." Janice started.
Janice, wearing leather armour, was hunting some deer for fun. She was at the border near Cyrodiil. The air was cool as it was still dawn.
"Come on, get a little closer." Janice whispered, her arrow nocked, ready to fire.
Before she made her shot, a big shadow flew on top of her, a draconic roar was heard and the deers scattered immediately. "Oh, come on. That thing is going to pay for this!" Janice shouted angrily.
Putting her arrow back in her quiver, Janice begun to chase after the dragon shaped shadow. Running as fast as she could, she caught up with the dragon.
"What is this thing? A giant lizard that flies?" Janice whispered to herself as she ran after the dragon.
Climbing over the hills that separates Skyrim from Cyrodiil, Janice had a clearer view of the dragon. It was a blue and white dragon, a frost dragon.
Careful not to be in the dragon's line of sight, Janice sneaked under the cover of trees.
"Where are you going?" Janice whispered.
After an hour of tracking the dragon, Janice begun to feel tired. Seeing as the dragon does not seem to be going anywhere meaningful, Janice decided to stop tracking it and look for a place to enjoy her packed breakfast. Looking around, she spot a clearing.
"Nice place to relax. I wonder where am I, though. I hope I am not lost." Janice said as she wandered to the middle of the clearing.
The ground starts to sink into a hole beneath Jaince. "What is going on now?" Janice questioned as she falls through the hole.
"Ophmm... First the dragon and now a stupid hole! What could possibly go wrong next?" Janice exclaimed as she stood up.
Looking around, she saw that she was in a large room filled with white marble pillars and marble blocks. An Ayleid ruin. "Hello, anyone here?" Janice called out, the voice echoing within the room.
Immediately, a set of heavy footsteps sounded. Janice looked around, looking for the direction of the sound. "Hello?" Janice asked.
The footsteps become heavier and faster. Soon, a troll emerged from a corridor. Gripping her sword, Janice went up to the troll and beheaded it before it could react.
"Guess no one is here," Janice said as she clean her sword. "I wonder where the exit is."
Walking along the corridors, she noted the skeletons of monsters like trolls and imps. Must be some adventurer, this ruin is empty except for that troll. Then again, these bones look like they have been here for hundreds of years! Janice thought as she ate an apple from her breakfast.
Walking around the bend, she spotted the entrance to the ruins. Finally! Janice thought as she ran out of the ruin.
"Now, where am I? This place does not look like Skyrim at all!" Janice exclaimed.
Seeing a road, she decide to follow it south. All roads lead to a city eventually. Janice thought.
Following the road, Janice eventually reached the city of Bruma. "Excuse me, but what city is this?" Janice asked a guard.
"You are in Bruma, Miss," the guard replied.
"Bruma?! How did I end up in Cyrodiil?" Janice exclaimed. "Which road will take me back to Skyrim?"
"Just exit through the north gate of the city and head north. The road should take you back to Skyrim." The guard replied.
"Thank you," Janice said before heading off.
Walking in the streets of Bruma, Janice thought she might do some shopping. But seeing as there was nothing special in Bruma, Janice decided to head back to Skyrim.
{Two hours of jogging later}
Janice came to a clearing where Ulfric and his guards where setting up a rest area for a lunch break. Janice's stomach growled, she had not eaten anything since breakfast and it was already noon.
On a table were some food and no one is guarding the food. Janice decided to steal some food for herself. Going low to the ground, Janice snuck to the table undetected.
Going under the table, Janice made a blind grab for the food above her. Unfortunately for her, Ulfric saw the hand and grabbed it, catching the khajiit by surprise.
Yanking her out, Ulfric quickly bashed her on the head, making her go unconscious.
[Present day]
"So that is how I ended up with the Stormcloaks and later the Imperials." Janice ended her story.
"Oh, you totally have to check your surroundings first before you attempt robbery!" June shouted out of nowhere.
"Would you shut up?" Jane questioned the ghost.
"Never!" June declared.
"So how long would it take to recover?" Derkeethus asked.
"Without knowing if June and my combined powers can heal it faster, I will say about a month." Janice replied.
"Well, lets try it anyway, you never know until you try." Derkeethus suggested.
"I guess you are right," Janice said and prepare to use her healing spell as June went into her soul ring to boost the effects.
With a brilliant ball of golden light in her hand, Janice forced even more energy into the spell causing the ball to grow bigger. "Almost ready." Janice managed to say.
When the spell is ready, Janice trust the big ball of light into the wound. A meaty squishing sound was heard as the wound healed itself.
"There, it wasn't so hard. I should fire my doctors." Janice said as she unwarp the bandages.
"I guess you are very strong in all regards." Derkeethus said.
"I still need some rest, the enchantment from the blade is still there, it still hurts a bit." Janice said as she threw the bandages over Alduin's head.
"Hey!" Alduin screamed in annoyance as she struggles to claw the bandages off her face.
"Well, I am glad that went well. You should be up on your feet in no time!" Jane announced.
"How is father?" Janice asked.
"Still comatose unfortunately" Jane replied.
"Oh well." Janice sighed.
"I got some good news though. My father persuaded the king of Black Marsh to join the Empire again." Derkeethus said.
"That is great news, we will have the most adaptive soldiers in our fight against the Thalmor once my knights find something worth fighting over." Janice said.
[Meanwhile, in Skyrim's Thalmor embassy]
"Did you get her?" Nirrne asked the man who tried to assassinate the young empress. "And what happened to your leg?"
"First, a reminder of who is in charge here. I agreed to work with you just because we have a common goal. You do not own me." The man commanded. "No, I didn't kill her. I managed to stab her though. She threw the sword right into my leg. It still hurts a lot due to the dragonbane enchantment."
"How long will it take for the enchantment to wear off then?" Nirrne asked, not bothered about the warning from the dragon in human form.
"It will take about a week. I managed to heal the wound on my way back here, so all is good. Now, what do we do now? She would be wearing her armour all the time now that she knows someone is coming for her." The man said.
"We should lay low for now, Fyensesot. No doubt there will be people looking out for you, unless you can manage to sneak into the palace undetected." Nirrne suggested.
"I am not very good at sneaking. Though, I guess we might meet on the battlefields sometime soon." Fyensesot said as he look around the room. "I will be looking forward to it one day."
In a dark corner of the room, Vex fidgeted nervously, hoping the dragon had not noticed her.
Note 1: It is the giant mudcrab at the mudcrab pond in Skyrim intended to be an easter egg. The mudcrab is dead in the game, but here it is still alive.
Note 2: If you can't imagine this, just imagine a bodybuilder like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Note 3: You decide whether she is a left or right handed!
