I promise now that school is out that I will be on here more often. You guys seriously have no idea how much joy I get when I see that I have over 300 views in one day (Our record is 495, we should beat it) Any way, thank you guys so much for reading my work and I would love you EVEN MORE if you shared and recommended this story to your friends if you enjoyed it. Okay, okay, I'll get back to the story now.
P.S. The chapter that you are about to read is not how I originally wrote and published it, I kind of killed my new plot point that I was super excited about. And, the original was just horribly written.
Okay.
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson or any of the characters of it. I am merely using them to satisfy my fangirly needs.
Annabeth watched, very curiously, on the 80 inch HDTV as Percy followed Hermes out of the security headquarters of the Smithsonian. They headed back up to the Harry Winston gallery where the Hope Diamond was located.
Percy followed Hermes back to the Hope Diamond building.
"So, uh, Hermes, how exactly are we going to, uh," he didn't want to say steal, "borrow this diamond?"
In response, Hermes shoved a bunch of dangerous looking tools into Percy's arms, "Hold these, and whatever you do. Do. NOT. drop them. If they break, your girlfriend is as good as dead, got it?" he nodded.
Hermes took a circular laser cutter from the pile in Percy's arms. He winced when Percy readjusted his stance to hold the equipment more steadily. Hermes sighed and said, "Okay, I guess you can set the equipment down, but do it very VERY carefully. Anything bad that happens to that equipment I will do to you ten times over." Percy set the heavy stuff in his arms down, very carefully.
Watching Hermes steal the diamond was like watching an action crime movie, but in real life. Hermes always sent Percy back to the pile to get the tools, and yelled at him to hurry it up whenever he didn't come back in three seconds or less. By the time Hermes was in the final stages of the theft, Percy was drenched in sweat and breathing hard. "Shhhhhhhhhh!," Hermes hissed, "Percy, There are guards EVERYWHERE! You know that if we get caught, that's all I can really do for you!"
"I know, I know, I'll try" He ended up having to hold his breath for ten seconds at a time, just to keep the noise level down.
After about an hour, Hermes handed the Hope Diamond to Percy. A perfect replica placed perfectly in its display. "Here you go, kid. The Hope Diamond. Don't spend it all in one place, or do, I don't really care either way." Percy opened his mouth to say Thank you, but Hermes put his hand up, "Don't thank me. Now, about our deal. I don't really have anything for you to do right now, But just remember. After you get your girlfriend back, you owe me a favor, whenever, and whatever I choose, Got it?" Percy nodded. "Okay then, gotta go. See you later."
Hermes and all of the equipment just vanished. And Percy was left standing in the building, holding the Hope Diamond.
Percy eventually headed out and walked to the Washington Monument. He sat there and watched the water while he waited.
He didn't even realize that he had fallen asleep when he was woken up by a projection of the God of the Underworld. "Now it is time for you to hear the next part of your quest."
Sorry guys, I can't resist cliffhangers, they're just so fun! Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed that plot twist as much as I did. I thought it was kinda fun. Let me know if you thought it was too, with a review! (Hey, that rhymed!) Anyway, keep reading guys. Again, I will write as often as my schedule and my creative processes permit. Thank you for being patient with me! Love ya!
