Years passed with Amy saying the same thing to herself. Then finally, that closet door opened again, one last time. Maurice went through his stuff, deciding what he'd take with him to his new home with his family, and what to throw away. He came across Amy. The blue hedgehog couldn't help but talk to her, probably thinking she couldn't hear him. "Oh Miss Amy Rosette, where have you been all time time? Your strings are a tangled mess. I wish I could take your hand, and we could bond forever..."

Maurice touched Amy's hand. She melted. Maurice seemed to understand. "Amy...you want love, don't you...even if your leg strings are gone, it's impossible, so Amy, I'm sorry, but we cannot have a bond."

Amy stared blankly. "Big brother...do remember me at all, big brother?!" she thought. It made some sound, enough for Maurice to hear. He didn't understand, so he ignored it. He put the bawling doll in the trash. It was the last of his things, so her took his keeping pile and took it out to his car. He drove away.

A week later, Maurice began thinking about the doll..."big brother". Suddenly he remembered it all. His little sister was kidnapped when he was only seven. Could she have been his marionette all along? "Miss Amy Rosette...little sister...what have I done..." It was too late to save her...she was already in the dump.
