Chapter Twenty
It was two in the morning when Hotch's phone began to ring.
"Hotchner."
"Sorry for the late call to all of you but US Customs in Houston got an anonymous call but they weren't illegals in that house. It's a sleeper cell house."
"We'll be there as fast as possible Garcia."
"I'll give you more information as you get on the jet."
They all got there mostly at the same time and boarded the jet.
"Okay Garcia." Rossi said.
They had found four bodies with a single shot in the head. They had found chemicals to do a bomb and it looked like they had made one already.
"Houston is one of the most divert cities in Texas and the United States." Reid stated.
"Nowhere to know where they are going to attack next." Rossi said.
"For sure we know that the four bodies found were killed so they wouldn't talk." Hotch said.
The pilot let them know that they were about to land in Houston. Hotch told them what they were going to do. Hotch, Rossi, and Emily headed down to the precinct while Morgan and Reid went to the crime scene.
"You must be the FBI. I'm Detective Saldaña." She said extending her hand to Hotch.
"Yes. I'm SSA Hotchner, SSA's Rossi and Easter."
"Thank you for calling so fast. Please follow me. I've already set up a place for you."
They followed her and started to work in the profile. Few minutes later Reid and Morgan arrived at the precinct.
"What did you find?" Hotch asked.
"They were doing more than one bomb." Morgan replied.
"What's so important about today?" Emily asked.
"Let me ask Garcia." Morgan said. "Hey Mama. You're on speaker."
"What do you want and I will give it to you."
Garcia told him everything that was going to go around in town.
"Thank you Garcia." Hotch said.
"Sure Boss Man."
The team started working on the profile.
"What's more important a new mall or a new battleship in the port?" Morgan asked.
"Morgan, if you were the UnSub what would you attack?" Reid asked.
"The Mall is full of 'infidels' but the battleship means something else." Morgan replied.
"So far we know that the four men found were just paid to do that job." Prentiss said.
"They didn't want to leave any witnesses." Hotch replied.
"They might be highly organized." Reid said.
"They might know what routes to take." Hotch said.
"They might be Americans who just converted to Islam." Prentiss added.
"It's more to the extremist Islam."
"What's your gut telling you?" Rossi asked Hotch.
"What if it's both?" Hotch answered with another question.
Detective Saldaña opened the door.
"We have received phone calls of a man acting weird and talking in another language."
"He must be one of the UnSub's." Morgan said.
"Where?" Hotch asked.
"The new mall parking lot." Detective Saldaña answered.
"Let's get going." Hotch said.
They got there just in time before one of the UnSub's finished assembling the bomb. Most of the people who had gone to the inauguration of the mall didn't even knew what was going on which was a good thing. They headed back to the hotel to get their things and head back home.
"Emily are you really okay?" Hotch asked.

JJ knew that Christy was planning something. At that moment the door opened and Hotch walked in.
"It's so silent."
"They're sleeping."
"Where's Christy?" Hotch asked.
As in cue she got out of her room with an envelope in her hand. She told them what she had planned for them and not to open it till they got in the car.
"Are you sure you can handle them?"
"I'm sure Mom. Go and have fun with Dad."
Hotch and JJ got ready. Christy had told them what to wear. They left before the kids woke up. Hotch opened the door for her. She waited for him to get inside and turn on the car to open the envelope.
"You look surprised. Where are we going?" Hotch asked.
"We are going to the GALA Hispanic Theatre and dinner is at the Plume at 7 pm and there's a hotel room key."
"She did put a lot of effort into this." Hotch replied.
They had lunch together and walked around talking about their family and job. After a while they were getting ready to head to the GALA Hispanic Theatre.
"Have you been here before?" Hotch asked.
"No." JJ answered as they were looking for seats.
He pointed to a place and they got there. The show was entirely in Spanish but they had English subtitles. They were enjoying each other company without the kids. They walked around holding hands. They were heading to Plume Restaurant that was located inside the Jefferson Hotel. JJ was touched by her daughter thoughtfulness.
They arrived at the Jefferson Hotel and got in and waited to be seated at the Plume.
"Jay I've been meaning to ask you but do you miss us? I mean the FBI."
"Yes I do. It's not that I don't like working at the DoD but things are a little different." JJ said. "Why are you asking?"
"I was curious."
The waiter called them their table was ready. They sat on their table. The waiter gave them the menus and left. They looked at the menu.
"Are you ready to order?" The waiter asked when she brought their drinks.
JJ ordered first and then Hotch. After taking their order the waiter left.
"So I've been thinking we should close the fabric." JJ said.
Hotch looked at her. He said he would respect their decision. Few minutes later the waiter brought their food. They talked a little bit more about their plans.
"We should call Christy." JJ stated.
He agreed. JJ got her phone out and dialed Christy's number.
"Mom, we are okay. Pen and Emily are here. We're having fun. The twins are sleeping. Have fun tonight. See ya tomorrow morning. Bye."
"Bye Christy."
"What happened?"
"Em and Pen are with her."
"Is everything alright?"
"Yes. Thank you."
The waiter left leaving them alone to their conversation. They finished their dinner and where ready to leave. They waited for their waiter.
"Can we have the receipt please?" Hotch said.
"It has already been paid. You have a wonderful daughter."
"Thank you. We sure do." JJ said.
"Have a good night."
"You too."
They walked towards the door of the restaurant and into the hotel lobby.
They walked into the lobby and asked for their room. JJ remember the time they had rented a room. The girl told them their room number and where the elevator was located.
"Bring back memories doesn't it?" JJ asked.
"Yes." Hotch answered and smiled.
"Actually that night we conceived our daughter." JJ said.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
