Chapter Twenty-two

It had been a week since the wedding. Emily had accepted the job with Interpol. Morgan and Garcia were helping her set up. He was finishing some reports when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in." He said without looking up.

"Good afternoon. Before I ask Christy I wanted your blessing to marry her." Dieter said. "I know it's too soon but I know she's the one."

"Have you two?" Hotch asked her.

"No Sir. I love her too much to disrespect her."

"You have my blessing." Hotch replied.

"Thank you." He said and turned around to walk towards the door.

"Make her happy." Hotch said.

"I will."

Few minutes later Rossi entered Hotch's office.

"What's that about?" Rossi asked.

"He wants to propose to Christy and asked for my blessing."

"Someone is not happy."

"I just got her."

"It's not like she has said yes and if she does which I believe she would do she's not going to forget about you."

"I know."

"She has being doing her own decisions for a while now. She needs to know you have her back no questions asked."

"I get that. Have you found someone to replace Emily?"

"No not yet but I'm getting there."

"Don't take too long."

"I won't." Rossi said. "Aaron, Helena PD called they need our help."

"What's that about?"

"They're not calling us just yet but they want our profile."

"Get the team to help you." Hotch said.

"Will do." Rossi said and walked out of the office.

After he finished what he was doing he walked out of his office and walked into Garcia's office.

"Garcia, make sure you let them know that if they need our presence to contact us."

"Already did Boss Man."

He smiled at Garcia's answer and walked out. He was work on some papers when Dave was at the door to tell him it was already five.

"Don't stay too long." Dave said.

"I'll just finish this and leave."

It only took a few more minutes for him to finish the report and able to return home. He called JJ.

"Hey I'm on my way out. Do you need something?"

"No. I can sense something. What's wrong?"

"Dieter came by my office today to ask for my blessing."

"Oh. I told you they were going too serious about it. Besides she's very mature by her age."

"Yes she is. I'll see you in a few minutes."

He hung up the phone and began to get ready to head out and get home to his wife and kids. He opened the door of his car and put his briefcase in the passenger seat and turned on the car. It took him some time to get out of the DC traffic. When he got home they were getting the table ready for dinner.

Hotch helped them settle the table. Christy's phone started ringing. He looked at JJ.

"I was about to have dinner with my parents and siblings why?"

Hotch was hearing the conversation while pretending to be doing something else.

"I'll see you there then. Bye." She said and hung up. "Change of plans. I'm meeting with Dieter. He wants to take me to a fancy restaurant."

"Have fun." JJ said holding Kailani and Corena by her leg.

"Thanks." She said and walked towards her room.

"I'll help you in the kitchen." Hotch said.

"Thank you." JJ mumbled.

While JJ tended to two demanding girls Jack was helping Hotch in the kitchen. After Hotch finished serving the kids and he helped with Kedrick. JJ noticed that he was quiet but didn't say a word about it.

"Mommy, I thirsty." Corena said.

JJ got up and gave Corena water in her zippy cup and after dinner Jack helped them entertain the kids while Hotch and JJ cleaned the table and washed the dishes.

"Aaron, she's happy when he's around."

"I know. I've paid attention Jay."

At that moment the door opened. Christy told them that Dieter had proposed to her and she had accepted his proposal. JJ congratulated her. JJ loved to her those five words from Christy. JJ asked her what they had planned for the wedding and Christy answered that they had a possible date in eight months.

"Hotchner."

Christy looked at JJ and mumbled case to her. Few minutes later Hotch ended the call and told them he was called in.

"Bye Daddy." Christy said and went to sit with the kids to watch the movie.

JJ's phone started ringing.

"He just left."

"Yeah we got called in but that's not the reason I'm calling you."

"Okay."

"JJ, I want for you to join the BAU as a profiler. You don't have to answer now but I need to know a.s.a.p."

"I'll think about it." JJ said and then hung up.

Christy noticed about the phone call and asked her about it. She ended up confessing it. Christy advised her to accept the job offer. They talked a little bit more and then they put the kids to sleep.

"How do you want your wedding?" JJ asked.

"We want our wedding to be small only for family and friends but sophisticated. Mommy can you go with me and look for dresses?"

"Yes."

"Is Daddy angry because I'm getting married?" Christy asked looking at her hands.

"No, he's not. He's just finding it hard to let you go."

"Ah."

They continued talking about her wedding plans.

"Have you thought who would be your maid of honor?" JJ asked.

"Yes. Dieter's sister. I'm just waiting for her answer."

"Don't stay up too late."

JJ walked towards her room to get ready for bed. She thought about the question Rossi had asked her. She got ready for bed. She was finally dozing off when she had the need to vomit. After waiting in the restroom for a few minutes she decided to get up and go to bed again. Two nights later, Hotch called letting her know that he was going home.

"We need to talk."

"At two in the morning?"

"Well, I'm always vomiting with this pregnancy and it seemed like a good time."

"I see you have put a good thought into what we talked."

"I haven't stopped thinking about it." JJ said. "I'm coming back."

"I guess he doesn't know it yet."

"No but I'll let him know when he gets home."

Few seconds later the front door opened. Hotch walked into their room.

"You're still awake?"

"Yeah." JJ said. "Aaron, Dave asked me if I wanted to come back to the BAU as a profiler and I accepted."

"I'm impressed."

"You're not angry."

"No I was actually thinking of asking you if you wanted to come back. I've missed working with you."

"When were you planning on asking me?"

"Early in the morning." He said and hugged her. "You're going to be an excellent profiler. The team is going to love having you back."
