"Luke?" I cried in surprise. I ran up to him and threw my arms around him. "What are you doing here?"

Luke shrugged his shoulders. "I thought I come by and see you", he replied while grinning sheepishly. I couldn't help but grin back. "Thalia said there was a monster", I told him, while looking at Thalia.

Thalia stood up straight. And with a stony but confident reply said: "I wasn't wrong. You were looking at it."

Luke looked away guilty. Why was Thalia being rude to Luke? The last thing… the last thing… I remember… was what? The three of us were really close. Wait. That couldn't have been it, right? Why couldn't I remember anything?

Everything went blurry and my head started to throb. The last thing I remembered was a boy with sea green eyes looking down at me.

"Annabeth, wake up." I woke to splashes of water all around me.

"What's going on?" I asked, rubbing my temples.

"THE wise girl doesn't know what's going on?" Percy gasped sarcastically.

Even at this state I knew how to hit him. "Owwww!" I stuck out my tongue and laughed.

"Wow, you guys are still the same as before", Luke said while glancing glumly at me.

Percy looked curiously at Luke. "What do you mean?"

Luke glanced at Thalia but she avoided his eyes. "Oh… uh… just a slip of the tongue."

Percy looked at Luke again. "Have we met before?" "You look really familiar."

Luke shook his head. Percy stared at Luke with a kind of grimace on his face. What was up with that? "Thalia. Can I borrow you for a second?"

Thalia came with me to a corner, then stopped.

"Thalia, what's up?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just the usual."

"Thalia. You know what I mean."

"Annabeth. It's just not the right time", and with that said Thalia ran off to where Percy was.

"Where was your old school?" Percy asked, interrogating Luke.

Luke was standing, looking quite uncomfortable.

"Oh, I was um… homeschooled."

I knew he was lying but decided not to say anything.

Percy didn't say anything but you could tell he didn't believe it either.

Something rustled and caught the attention of all of us. "Where is Percy Jackson? Where is he?"

We heard a hiss and then suddenly a face turned toward us. "It's Medusa", I thought but decided against it.

"I am Stheno the mighty. Give me Perseus Jackson."

I thought I heard wrong but turned to Percy. Why was a monster chasing him? It was clear and obvious that he could see through the mist from the look on his face. He didn't seem frightened but perhaps frightened of the fact that we were here.

"Get inside. Now. I promise I'll explain later", Percy rushed off and reached for something in his pocket. A pen? A pen? He clicked it and it grew larger into a sword. Riptide. I don't know how I knew but it was like I knew he had it all along. "C'mon lets go." I ushered them inside, ignoring their faces.

"Annabeth, how can you stay so calm?"

"I don't know, there's just something holding me back from worrying."

And it was true. That was the weird thing. I've only known him for a month but I could feel as if he's handled stuff like this before. I looked out the window and noticed that the monster was gone, I grabbed my stuff and got up from the table we were sitting at.

"Annabeth, where are you going?"

I turned around.

"I'm going to go get some answers. Some good answers.

A/N: So that was the end of the chapter. I hope you guys enjoyed it! Just like Annabeth, you guys will get answers! Remember more reviews means faster updates. Happy early Halloween!
