A/N: Sorry for not uploading lately. Can you imagine it's been almost 2 months?! Well I basically just emphasized how long I haven't been uploading but here's my excuse: projects! We have this history project to do and it's due in less than a week. Once again, I'm sorry and I hope I didn't lose too many readers! R&R!
"What do you mean you saved her with the Golden Fleece?" I asked. This was starting to take a change in events. I may be a seaweed brain but it doesn't exactly take the smartest to figure out something was wrong.
"I've known Thalia since I was seven. Someone poisoned her tree and I went to save her."
Annabeth looked at me, and the both of us were probably looking pretty freaked out. We were having the same story but it was impossible unless we may have saved her together. One of us must have been lying but right now Annabeth's chances were looking pretty slim. With a sudden bolt I realized that lead to me.
"Annabeth, I'm not lying."
She glanced at me and gave a small nod, as if to reassure me. Moments later, I could feel a light bulb practically light up on top of my head.
"Why are we arguing about this, when Thalia can just tell us what happened?"
Annabeth looked apprehensive at first but considering we had no other options, she gave me a shrug and went to look for Thalia. I only lost her for one minute before the window crashed at the café and people were running everywhere. The mortals couldn't see the monster or whatever it was but having the windows crashed was probably causing at least somewhat of a riot.
"Annabeth! Where are you?!"
Luke was over by Thalia, and they were frantically trying to get people to calm down and evacuate. I caught a glimpse of a blonde curl and continued my gaze outside. A knife was floating mid-air straight into the monster's front before a loud bellow came. My eyes scurried to find the reason why the monster hadn't disappeared. And there I caught it. The knife was aimed at the front but missed and hit about 5 inches below when the monster moved, not causing enough damage and only resulting in the monster getting mad.
"Thalia, we need help!"
We hurried outside to help leaving Luke inside to continue evacuating, much to my happiness. Thalia was distracting up front while I sneak up behind. The monster was clawing for her, while I brought my sword up and stabbed it. The monster turned into mist and I fell down, leaping to my feet. Annabeth took off her cap and we all went inside to meet Luke. Whatever the mortals saw, this was not going to be easy.
"Citizens at the local café are seen running around, evacuating. The café is a mess, windows shattered everywhere. The question is what could've caused this? Meteorologists are predicting that a freak storm may have hit and caused a major blow. This group of youngsters is seen to be helping panicked people get out to safety. Why are they so calm? Do they have anything to do with it? Steve, the local owner of this café, is devastated, that's a whole lot of mess to clean up (laughs )".
Annabeth turns off the television, reluctant at first but I think we've all had enough.
"You try to help innocent people and what do you get? A wanted sign all over you face on live television!" Luke called out angrily.
"Isn't that strange? Two monsters a day?" I asked.
"What's so strange about that? Two monsters a day is natural for us."
That wasn't the weird part at all. The peculiar part was how two different monsters attacked us at different places. Usually if there was more than one monster, that would mean a gang at the same time attacking you. I repeated my thought out and Annabeth seemed to agree with me. Thalia and Luke on the other hand, looked pale. "What's up with them?" I whispered curiously.
Annabeth shrugged. "How should I know?"
"Uh, their your friends."
Annabeth and I left the kitchen, leaving Luke and Thalia alone.
"I can't believe you! This is your fault!"
"My fault?! I'm sorry; I just thought my best friend would be happier to see me!"
"You mean I was your best friend."
Thalia and Luke were arguing and I could tell Annabeth was just as confused as I was. We got up and walked to the kitchen as casually as possible. That didn't work out; we weren't the best at acting.
Never the less, they figured we hadn't heard considering how red in the face they still were. They were up to something and it was true. At least they weren't messing with fate, right?
P.S. Please let me know how to make that line thingy that separates the parts of your story. Help needed! Thank you!
