Chapter 4
Fidget's POV
When I saw the dress that the Dream Librarian had placed Faye in I was shocked it definitely accentuated the beauty that she always had and that Faye had tried to keep out of the public light ever since the first four months into our marriage even my mother and father were upset about how she did her best to hide her beauty and even hide the fact that our family had been and still were wealthy. Faye used to say it wasn't to hide her beauty she felt she could better perform her duties as a wife better in plain and un fashionable clothes than in good fancy clothes.
I can somewhat understand her opinion considering that it is easier to clean house and wash floors and cook meals when you don't have to worry about ruining your good clothes but when did I or my parents ever tell her that we wanted her to do those chores.
Perhaps she has been influenced by the other house wives in the village I mean when we first wed she continued for many months to wear fancy dresses and finery because that was how she had been brought up and how Tangle and Aeval wanted to keep things going since they were the owners of the house under which we lived and under which we still live to this day.
But after four months she started dressing in plain clothes and doing things like scrubbing the floors and other menial chores like a common servant or slave I can only assume that it was the bad influence of some of the other girls she and I had gone to school with when we were younger because those girls themselves are now married and they believe the only way to be a good wife is to cook and clean and do washing and mending and they had laughed at Faye for not doing as they did. Fairy Realm forbid that Faye should even consider Going to my mom and dad for advice even though they had raised her for almost her entire life and they loved her as a daughter. I believe it would be nice if someone would be able to convince to go back to her Original habits. [
As Faye walked in and sat next to me on the bed I gave her a kiss as I always did in the morning and then she and I sat together wondering when Aeval would arrive The Dream Librarian and Lilith left Faye and I to relax and to contemplate what was coming next. I was feeling rather good about what might be coming next but I could tell by the look on Faye's face that even with the bath and everything she was still extremely afraid about what might come next. Nothing that happened today had made her relax as I am sure was what the Dream Librarian was hoping it would do.
Not that I would expect Faye to be calm about what was going on considering that when someone has been betrayed whether they remember the betrayal or not it is going to make them hesitant to trust people they don't know.
Aeval's Pov
It wasn't long before I arrived at the Tower of Dreams I walked in the front door and up the stairs and soon into the kitchen Area where Lilith and the Dream Librarian were making breakfast for as I assumed Fidget and Faye who just happened to be in their keeping. It didn't take long for Lilith to notice me she brought me over to the myriad of dishes she had made for breakfast as I looked I could tell they were all the dishes I used to make the ones that both Faye and Fidget always loved. However I knew that since the hand that made the dishes were not my own that Faye would be suspicious if not terrified after all I had fed Faye many of those foods after having gotten the Fairy lord's word that the old rule about fairy food would not apply to my adopted daughter I was not so comfortable with Faye eating this food myself because I have at this time no guarantee that the promise the Fairy lord made would be upheld now that he has been missing so long I supposed the Dream librarian could tell that I was not at my ease at this moment and so she walked over to me and spoke to me saying, " I wouldn't worry about Faye if I were you Aeval after all if the Fairy Lord promised that our ancient laws about Fairy food would not apply to Faye then it should still hold but even if it didn't hold it isn't like we would harm the dear woman after all the Fairy Lord also told you that as far as the fairy community were concerned Faye was your child and was under the protection of the Fairy realm but under the circumstances I believe it would be in Faye's best interest if the ancient rule did apply to her. After all then we could better protect her from her Biological mother who we know now desires to destroy Faye." I could see the sense of what the Dream Librarian was saying but I still wish to keep things to where my little girl can feel safe I helped Lilith and the Dream Librarian finish getting food for Faye and Fidget and even helped them take the food up and after giving the food to them I sat with the two and spoke with them explaining as much to them as I dared to so as to keep Faye calm.
