Faye's POV

I saw my mother in law/ adoptive mother come up the stairs with food for Fidget and I while I was exceedingly hungry I was still somewhat wary but as I saw that it was food that I had eaten as a young child I smiled figuring that mom had made it just for my husband and I and so my hunger decided me and soon both Fidget and I were eating as if we hadn't had a meal in days. All the while Aeval sat with us and we conversed calmly Aeval told me that during this period in the Fairy realm I was to undergo a specialized procedure which would see to it that Fidget and I were together for eternity or even longer I can't exactly say it eased my fears that much but I suppose I should be more nervous about the fact that my biological parents who now know I survived the abandonment are now after me to kill me and should cling tighter to my new friends and family. So I guess that will be what I shall do. But I can't exactly say that I feel safe in fact in this place I feel like I am little more than a prisoner because as it seems to stand I am beset by danger my mortal mother wishes me dead and as of right now I am not too certain that the Dream Librarian and Lilith don't also want me dead. I only know that Fidget and his parents want me safe and so that is what I will try to cling too.

Dream Librarian's POV

I told Aeval that the promise the Fairy Lord had made her about our ancient laws about our food not applying to Faye would be upheld however that was indeed a fib now before you get me wrong I do not wish the young woman harm nor does anyone else in the fairy world it is true as the fairy lord had reported to Aeval and Tangle many years ago that our folk see Faye already as one of us but in order to protect her from her mortal parents who even now wish her dead I must make choices that may break some of the old promises in order to protect Faye's life Aeval and Tangle had one way of protecting her and it was quite effective however some things need to protect what belongs to us she no doubt is now feeling the hold our food has granted us over her. I am hoping it will not seriously piss off Aeval but if it does then I can't help that it will only last until the transformation is complete. And as I suspected here comes Tangle bringing along his darling granddaughter Lyra I am pleased with this all of them are here and so they will remain until everything is finished. I headed down to see Tangle and Lyra as I approach the young half fairy child stomps up to me bold as brass and says to me " You let my mommy and daddy go right now you big bully" and then she stomps hard on my foot. I merely look at Tangle as I inquire " Did you have to make it sound like I was going to harm Faye and Fidget?"

Tangle looks at me with a look that shows that he knows as well as I am sure Aeval knows that I had allowed our laws about our food to affect Faye. And so he says " And what else would you expect any of us to think when you go out of your way to break the vow that the Fairy Lord had made to enable Faye to eat our food without it giving our world a claim to her life?"

I merely smile as I reply " I have done nothing to harm her but we must have some claim to her life if we are to protect her from her mortal parents and it will only last a short time you have my solemn vow that Faye is unharmed you know as well as I do that the hold is more or less a comforting yet firm hold that allows us to control who can and cannot see her and will wrap her in the blissful slumber that will enable us to begin the process of her becoming a fairy as we are. The time to do this is now before the child whom you adopted and raised and who is now also your daughter in law gets any older this must be done before she gets too old it should have been done when she was a child but you chose to wait this long." I saw the sorrow in Tangle's eyes knowing that I was right but Lyra was not a child to see reason and she walked over to me and this time kicked me hard as she said, " I am not going to tell you again let my mommy and daddy go right now!" Finally I became more than a little cross with the child and yelled back at her saying, " YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER ARE PERFECTLY SAFE AND THE FIVE OF YOU WILL BE GOING HOME WHEN I DEEM IT IS SAFE FOR YOU TO GO AND ALSO AFTER YOUR MOTHER HAS UNDER GONE WHAT WAS PRESCRIBED FOR HER LONG AGO SO UNTIL ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED YOU MIGHT AS WELL MAKE YOURSELF COMFORTABLE!" I immediately regretted yelling like that because I only made matters worse as Lyra instantly began to cry I know that she is only a little girl but she needed to know that what was happening was for her mother's own good but I don't think I communicated that as well as I could have I had only managed to scare and upset the little girl who was now crying and then ran behind her grandfather's leg and clung to him for dear life. I looked at Tangle and apologized to him for frightening Lyra and for loosing my temper and then instructed him to take his granddaughter up to the top floor to see her parents while she could.

Faye's POV

I have just finished eating my meal and chatting with my mother/mother in law and my husband but now I am slowly beginning to feel funny. And I don't mean funny ha ha I mean funny weird it is as if I had drunk something that was now beginning to warm me up and make me very drowsy. Of course I immediately told Aeval about the weird feeling I am experiencing and I can tell by her face that she is concerned she then tells fidget to keep me awake as long as he can while she goes to have words with the Dream Librarian with that she storms out of the room and just in time to see Tangle and Lyra coming up the stairs she instructs her husband to help Fidget keep me awake.

But he then tells her exactly what is going on since he had already spoken to the Dream librarian and learned that she had allowed the fairy food to give fairy world a claim on my life since she had only just stepped out of the door both fidget and I could hear the conversation quite clearly I watched as my husband got up and stormed towards the door he looked at his parents and you could tell he was enraged and distraught as he said, " You both stay here with Faye I am going to have some serious words with Lilith and with the Dream Librarian neither of them had the right to do this what has Faye ever done to either of them except she was friends with Lilith and this is how both of them repay Faye for her friendship is this fair is this polite?"

Tangle grabbed his son and held him for a second as he replied, " Son this is not going to hurt Faye no one here means your wife any harm the claim that the food has given fairy world on her is really more or less a protection of sorts as well as a preparation for as you well know Faye's biological mother and father want her dead this hold prevents them from getting to her and the drowsy feeling she is getting as well is going to help us immensely by enabling us to teach her all about fairy history and finding out where her abilities lie so that when she fully becomes a fairy herself we can know which powers she will have.

However she will be just fine and besides fairy world's claim on her life will only last until she has undergone the transformation it is just another precaution that has been taken." I saw Fidget look at his father but the fury had gone out of him as he now replied calmly saying,

" I suppose your right but I fear for my wife's safety though I suppose it would be for her best to let fairy world have it's way with her if only for now." Fidget then walked over to our daughter picked her up and hug her tightly he then brings her over to me and I cuddle my sweet little girl as Lilith and the Dream Librarian come into the room and it is obvious to me that they are well aware of my condition as the Dream Librarian comes over and does her best to get me to lay down and give in to the drowsiness but that only makes me fight all the harder but soon enough I find I can fight them no longer as the drowsiness over powers both my fear and my will power and I slowly but surely drop into a deep slumber the last sounds I hear are the panicked screams of both my daughter and my darling husband Fidget I once more begin trying to rouse myself but I fail miserably as my eyes close two tiny tears slip out of my eyes.

Fidget's POV

As I watch Faye drift in to a heavy sleep I get up from my seat and rush at the Dream Librarian ready to hurt her severely even though I know I can't kill her I aim to pound her at least but then my dad grabs my arms and held me tightly and told me to calm down that everything was going to be alright. I turned and looked at him anger still clearly written on my face as I replied, " My wife could be in pain or who knows what or perhaps she is even dying and the woman responsible for it is right here and you want me to just calm down?" the next sound I heard was laughter coming from the Dream Librarian which send a cold chill down my back and I rounded on her and then with all the fury I could muster I shouted at her, " You are laughing because I am right aren't you? You did all this to kill the woman I love so you could force me to marry someone I could never love isn't that so?" The Dream Librarian looked at me with pity knowing I had misjudged why she had laughed at what was going on and so she replied calmly, " No Fidget your wife is neither in pain nor is she dying if you were to use the powers of observation that you have at your disposal you would note that your wife is merely deeply asleep.

A slumber in which Lilith is right now in full control of your wife's dreams her power as the Fairy queen of dreams has grown extremely powerful with her most recent marriage to her own mortal she had gained the power to control the dreams of mortals and I mean of all mortals as it is she is now in control of the dreams of your wife and her (Lilith) own husband.

But I can see that has only made you more worried but you needn't be so concerned come with me and I will let you all see the dreams that Faye is having thanks to Lilith's powers." The Dream Librarian led me, my daughter, and my parents out of the room to let Faye sleep while we went to see what she was dreaming about. She (the Dream Librarian) lead us out to another room where she could monitor the dreams of fairies and Mortals alike and oddly enough Lilith was there herself she had left the room as soon as Faye had surrendered and fallen asleep.

I could tell by looking at Lilith that she was indeed proud of herself but I had to turn my attention from that as the Dream Librarian directed my attention to a powerful dream viewing screen which she had brought Faye's dream up on. I sat there bemused it seemed like a beautiful and pleasant dream one in which Faye and I were spending a pleasant day with our entire family in the dream I could plainly see Faye, me and our daughter and Tangle and Aeval all having a nice time together seemingly safe and happy.

As I watched I heard Lilith finally speak saying, "That dream you are seeing is what Faye is dreaming about. That dream will come true Fidget once Faye has become a Fairy herself. The park like atmosphere in the dream is a large meadow area of Fairy World. All of us want nothing but what is best for Faye. You should know that based solely on what I told you when I took you to the Mansion that was one of the closest doors to fairy world. I even told you your parents had been protecting you and Faye from the wrong people it should have been Faye's mortal parents not those of us that couldn't have been happier than to see a child be so blessed as to be counted among our numbers." I looked at Lilith and replied "Be that as it may that beautiful dream is no doubt going to change soon from a joyful scene to a nightmare as far as I know every dream does something will happen her mortal parents will appear in the dream and attack her or something will go wrong with this happy scene."

Lilith smiled and shook her head as she replied, "No Fidget not this time, normally if I were to say let her control the path of her dream what with her current fear level you would no doubt be correct but with me in control of this dream the only change it will make is to get more lovely and peaceful for this dream is to show her what will be her fate once she has been transformed into a fairy. The beginning of the journey for her is to pass through the different "prisons" and to find her way with the help of the fairy inventor Merrow to get back here and then to the eternal forest where you and Lyra will be in your own deep slumber then to pass through the eternal maze and when she finally goes to give you the potion that will wake you up she will fall back into sleep and the full transformation from Mortal to fairy will begin meanwhile Aeval will give you and Lyra the potion and bring you back here to the Tower to await your darling wife's return.

And then the Dream Librarian will take Faye away one last time placing her in a tree house in a garden neighborhood in fairy world because for a while Faye will not fully remember her name or anything to do with her mortality but this is normal so we will then send her to the herbalist who will help her memory by giving her the memory revival potion and then for a few months you and your daughter and Faye will live at the underwater resort while we try to deal with Faye's mortal parents and that will be the end of that back to life back to sense and back to health. But at that time it will indeed be time for a choice to be made namely whether or not you and your family including your parents even desire to return to the village of Wish you could of course but then again you could return to the Fairy Realm and have an extremely comfortable life. Or go back to Wish to live as comfortable as you can in that little village." I looked at her but I could see that this had been carefully planned out but then I paled supposing the reason that they had wanted to have Faye undergo this transformation was simply to force me and my family to move back to Fairy world so that they could once again segregate ourselves from the Mortals but then I felt my father's hand touch my shoulder and then he spoke to me saying, " Fidget I can sense that you feel this could all be some horrid trick to force us to come back here but I know enough to know that it is not so after all we were not the ones who separated ourselves from the Mortal world in fact Fairies and Mortals for many centuries lived together in harmony and friendship but then there came mortals much like Faye's biological parents that feared us and began to cut ties with us only speaking of us when they abandoned children saying that they were leaving their children to the fairies making it seem that we were creatures who were evil things that eat children but I must admit that at that time we fairies benefited greatly because we always rescued the Abandoned children bringing them here turning them into fairies and raising them to know nothing of the mortal world they came from save that it was place that we hoped to reconnect with someday. So trust me this is again all for everyone's benefit trust this to work out as best as we can." I sat there and put my head in my hands I was completely sure I was just being asked to give up any hope of living a normal life with my beloved Faye.
