And with this idea as well, I have no idea where it came from! It just kind of came to me, though I wish I could show you guys what I'm imagining instead of trying to describe it with words, but I'll try my best. I know I said I would do something on another fic next but I am not done with anything on another fic yet, and this just came to mind, and it's finished, so why not?
This is going to be a very short, recap one shot.
Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY, no really?
Important info for the visual that I have in my head. There are only two sounds throughout this, a water drop, and splashing, always with an echo in both cases. No voices, no laughter. You see it, but don't hear it.
Imagine the sound a drop of water makes, you know the sound, but imagine it echoing.
The moment after that sound, AJ appears in infinite black, but he notices he's standing on water that is maybe half an inch deep. He can see himself (Which is oddly easy to see despite the lack of light sources), his reflection in the water, and blackness. He looks around with a confused look, and decides to walk around a bit. The sound of splashing echoes out with each step, he realizes he's getting nowhere and stops.
(Now begins the stuff that you could consider symbolism, sort of, not really, just an odd recap that I thought up. ALSO, I imagine this short little thing from a simple, unchanging perspective. Imagine AJ is looking straight at the camera at the moment, the camera never moves from this simple spot at eye level some distance away from him. The important thing is that the POV never moves or changes at all! Just have it be far enough away for everyone to be on screen at once, in your mind)
He looks around, confused, when the spirit approaches him with that friendly smile. AJ glows white briefly, and grows cat ears and a tail, before the spirit leaves.
The sound of a water drop echoes through the blackness, one drop for each of the four new people that appear.
He smiles and waves at Ozpin, the closest to him.
Glynda, after Ozpin, glares at AJ, who rolls his eyes and smiles.
He waves to, and laughs briefly with, Port.
Oobleck zooms around AJ before taking a space behind Port, they both wave and smile.
AJ hears insulting voices and is hit in the face by an invisible group of students. He barely keeps himself from crying and hides under his hood and hides his tail in his pants.
He grows angry and distant before Neko comes out in a flash, AJ smiles again at the golden eyed cat.
The others wave to Neko as well.
AJ is happy with Neko now, but distant and untrusting of anyone other than the teachers. Shown by other students appearing in the dark before being driven away by AJ, leaving only him, his cat, and the professors.
Another two drops.
AJ looks curiously at Ruby and Yang, Ruby walks over, Yang not far behind. The echo of the splashing with each step being the only sound once again. AJ's curious look turn to a true smile as Ruby hugs him. The professors now warmly welcome the two. (Picture the professors on the right side of the screen and RWBY to the left)
Now that AJ found nice humans again, he smiles happily and laughs with Yang and Ruby. The professors smile seeing AJ happy again.
Another drop, Weiss approaches.
Weiss starts yelling at Ruby while Yang is off looking around at the darkness, in the background. AJ glares at her and gets between her and Ruby. Weiss leaves with a huff to go stand to the far left, AJ continuing to glare at her.
Another echoing drop and echoing splashes from more footsteps.
Blake walks over, reading from a book, until she looks up at the darkness. She looks around for a moment and then notices the group. Her and AJ both freeze as they stare at each other before Blake joins the group to stand casually between Weiss and Yang, who had walked back over to them.
The professors stand by and watch as most of them get along, but AJ continues to glare at Weiss.
Blake and AJ both blush at one point and glare at the sisters, this simply got Yang to laugh as a response.
AJ's glare at Weiss suddenly gets worse at one point before calming down to something of minor annoyance.
Four more drops, lots of splashing.
Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren approach them. They look at the group and quickly decide to join.
The whole group gets along well now in the blackness. JNPR had taken the right side and the professors had backed up a few steps, still smiling at the group.
AJ was happy now, he had a group of friends that he liked being around. Neko went back into his mind as he freely put down his hood, revealing his cat ears, and let his tail out.
They all stood for their group picture, staring at the camera that you are currently picturing seeing this through.
Another drop, and slower splashes as Torchwich slowly stalks by, trying not to be seen. He notices that he's been seen and then sees Ruby over in the group and points his cane at her. Everyone glares at him while AJ gets covered in red Aura and attacks him. Torchwich leans out of the strikes and tries to run away, then abruptly turns around and knocks AJ out with his cane before running away and out of the blackness. This left the group together still, but worried.
They quickly went back to cheering each other up however, and Blake had been comforting AJ since he got back up. You could see her mouth out "I love you" before AJ shot up in joy and wrapped her in a hug and spun around. They kissed not long after. Blake soon took off her bow, proudly showing her heritage as well.
No one saw, but AJ's reflection had been replaced with his evil double's reflection. The reflection in the water smiled and laughed evilly.
Yeah, that was a random thing. Hope you found the idea intriguing I suppose. It is an ok way to do a recap. I can't help but sometimes imagine them in chibi form since… I'm not really sure how to describe why… It just kind of fits the idea I suppose. (Let me clarify that I'm not doing this to recap, I'm doing it because I liked my almost silent idea)
It's certainly interesting to picture. No sound but echoing splashing and water drops really sets a mood, not sure what kind of mood, but it's a mood. Seeing people talk and laugh but not hear anything… I don't know… it gives a theme that I'm kind of ok with. It's… interesting… I'm honestly not sure how to describe it…

Go ahead and tell me your feelings about this soundless, symbolic in a way I guess, recap thing. I'm curious as to what you all think of it now. NO I don't care if you think it was bad or too short, I mean tell me how you feel about the idea and the theme!
