"So let me get this straight," said Sirius slowly. "Last night, you had a dream about future me visiting you? And he gave you this huge pep talk and you don't have a huge ego all of a sudden?"

I had told both Sirius and Regulus about my dream. Neither one of them seemed at all surprised about it; other than the fact Sirius couldn't believe that I didn't get arrogant. Regulus, on the other hand, had a different complaint.

"He called me insane?" he exclaimed, looking aghast. "I'm not insane!"

"Of course not," I told him, as Sirius snickered.

"It's pretty neat," said Sirius, leaning back into the couch. "A bit depressing, sure, but pretty neat."

"I wanna meet future Siri!" Regulus exclaimed. "Oh, can I, can I, can I?"

"To be honest," I said. "I don't know."

"Well, mate, it's wicked," said Sirius. "Make him tell you how he does it. If I do end up dying, I so want to be able to haunt you lot."

"But you aren't gonna die," I said firmly. "There is no way that's going to happen."

Sirius rolled his eyes.

"Sure, sure," he said. "So... back to school tomorrow?"

"Ugh," Regulus and I groaned in unison.

"Aw, come on," said Sirius. "It isn't that bad."

We both stared at him incredulously.

"Who are you and what have you done with Sirius?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"I'm getting bored," declared Sirius. "I wanna visit the Heart again- I want to have more death defying adventures! Maybe we could go storm Voldie's camp! Or we could make a parashutter-"

"Parachute," I corrected absentmindedly.

"-and jump out of the Astronomy Tower!" Sirius grinned, hopping up and bouncing on his heels. "And isn't the full moon coming up? That'll be fun! Maybe we could try swimming in the Great Lake when we get back!"

"It'll be frozen over," Regulus pointed out.

"All the more fun!" declared Sirius. "We could climb the Whomping Willow! Or maybe we could go centaur riding (if they'll let us)! Or- or we could-"

"Alright, alright," I said. "Visiting the Heart we can do. You are not jumping out of the Astronomy Tower. Full moon we can do. You are not swimming in the freezing Great Lake, nor are you climbing the Whomping Willow or going centaur riding."

"You're no fun," Sirius pouted, falling back into the couch. "Okay, I'll just do it without you. Reckon Remus'll help me make a pairshot?"

"Parachute," I corrected again. "And, no, Remus will not help you. If you really want to get yourself killed, I suggest you see a therapist. Or my mother. I'm sure she can get you a permanent spot in St. Mungo's."

Sirius paled.

I grinned smugly. "That's what I thought."

"What am I supposed to do?" Regulus asked. I looked at him, and suddenly remembered- he was floating. I'd grown so used to it by now.

"We could try weighting your shoes," I suggested. "Hang on, let me try. Pondus."

Thud.

Regulus steadied himself, holding out his arms. He was standing on the ground. Cautiously, he lifted his foot, and stepped forward, wobbling. "It worked! I'm gonna have to get used to walking again."

"We'll just weight all your shoes and hope no one sees you without them on," I said, smiling.

"Have fun learning to walk again," snickered Sirius. Regulus, maturely, stuck out his tongue at Sirius. "This is gonna be funny."

The next morning, we were at King's Cross. Regulus was pouting, walking next to me, rather unsteadily. He was not happy about walking. In fact, he locked himself in his room trying to escape Mum, who was trying to force him to wear shoes. He still wasn't used to walking again.

We made it onto the train, thank goodness. As soon as we were in our compartment, Regulus's shoes were off and Regulus was hovering contently upside down next to me. Why he had a strange liking for being upside down was beyond me.

"Hey, guys," said Remus, walking in with Peter and sitting down. Regulus hovered over their heads. "Where's Reg?"

"Up here!" said Regulus, and I remembered that I hadn't told anyone but Lily about him floating. Both boys looked up and gawped.

"Bloody heck!" exclaimed Peter.

"Sirius, what did you do?" asked Remus.

Sirius's jaw dropped. "What- okay, I am done answering that."

"For once it wasn't his fault," I said. "Regulus woke up one and was floating. We weighted his shoes, but... he refuses to wear them."

"I don't like walking," Regulus declared, crossing his arms as he sat cross-legged in midair. "Flying is much easier- oh, hi, Sev!"

I snickered as Severus gawped, and Lily closed the door behind them.

"He's flying!" Snape stammered. "Why is he flying? Black, what the heck did you do?"

Sirius just scowled.

"Wasn't him," said Regulus, now upside-down. Frankly, he was starting to remind me of Peeves. "We don't know what happened. But I can fly!"

"No one is safe," muttered Snape, before looking at Lily. "You could have warned me!"

"James said he found a way to keep him on the ground," Lily said, looking astonished. She turned suspiciously to me. "James...?"

"He doesn't want to wear his shoes," I said, giving Regulus a look. "Though he'll have to when we get to Hogwarts."

Regulus pouted.

"So, Rem," said Sirius. "Reckon you can help me make a parissue?"

"Parachute?" asked Remus suspiciously. "Why?"

"Oh," said Sirius innocently. "No reason."

"He wants to jump out of the Astronomy Tower," Regulus declared. "I can do it; I could walk out the Astronomy Tower. I can fly."

"Cheater," said Sirius.

"No, I'm not making you a parachute so you can kill yourself," said Remus dryly. He looked at me. "He's already asked you?"

"Yup, and I said the same thing you did," I replied, glaring at Sirius. "Told him he should see a therapist."

"That would be a good idea," said Lily, chuckling.

Sirius pouted. "Why couldn't I get super flying powers? All I have is a sword and multi-coloured eyes!"

To prove his point he changed his eyes to a dark blue colour, then to yellow, then back to grey. He'd gotten pretty good at controlling it, though his eyes still sometimes change with his mood.

"I'm just normal," I said contently, leaning back in my seat. The rest of the compartment stared at me incredulously. "What? I am."

"You're a time-traveller who's best friends with a boy who floats and a boy who randomly speaks a different language," said Snape slowly. "You are not normal."

"I'm normaller than them, though," I said.

"Normaller isn't a word," said Lily.

"Whatever," I replied, turning red. "I'm more normal then them."

"I don't randomly speak a different language," said Sirius, before muttering something else in Heartian. "Anyway, James can control the elements."

"Where the heck did you get that idea from?" I asked disbelievingly.

"Well, when you fell off the roof-"

"Oh, here we go again."

"-and the air caught you-"

"It didn't."

"-I did some reading-"

"Trust me, we were all astonished."

"-and found something about elementals that was in Heartian-"

"He tried to read it to me, but evidently he can't speak English."

"-and I've been trying to translate, but basically I think you're an elemental," Sirius finished happily. "Wouldn't that be neat?"

"It would be neater if it were true," I said.

"It is," insisted Sirius.

"It's not," I said.

"Well, it could be," said Regulus. "Is it so farfetched? I mean, I'm flying! Without a broom! Why is it so unlikely that you could control the elements?"

"Because I like being normal," I said, crossing my arms. "Anyway, we're almost here. Reg, you have to put shoes on."

"No," said Regulus stubbornly.

"You have to," I said, as Sirius started snickering.

"I'll give you chocolate," offered Remus, looking as though he didn't really want to give Regulus his chocolate. Regulus eyed the chocolate wishfully, but stayed floating at the ceiling.

"Regulus, you need to walk," said Lily. "You'll get used to it again."

"I don't wanna get used to it again," whined Regulus childishly. "I like flying."

"But you have to walk," I said.

"No! I'm not walking!" Regulus exclaimed.

Peter blinked. "I don't think this is good."

"I sense a meltdown coming on," I muttered. "Sirius, do something!"

"Me?" said Sirius. "I say we just let him fly. It's not like he wants to run around school naked or anything."

"But he has to walk," pointed out Snape. "You lot are trying to keep a low profile, remember?"

"That is getting increasingly difficult," I muttered darkly. "Okay, Regulus, you really have to wear shoes- or maybe Voldemort would go after you since you can fly."

Regulus paled, and started floating downward. I grinned smugly, and pulled out his shoes, offering to them. Reluctantly, he pulled them on, righting himself and standing shakily in the middle of the compartment just as we pulled into Hogwarts. He tumbled backward into Sirius. "Oof!"

"Now that's taken care of," I sighed.

"Moony," said Regulus expectantly. "Chocolate."

Remus blanched, and, with great difficulty, handed Regulus the chocolate. The rest of us laughed. The rest of this year would be very, very interesting.

"Home sweet home away from home," declared Sirius, flopping onto his bed. "So... who do you think'll help me make a parshoe?"

"Parachute," Remus, Regulus, Peter, and I all groaned.

"Yeah, that," said Sirius, and I suspected he was saying it wrong on purpose.

"I will go to Dumbledore and ask him to tell everyone not to help you make a parachute," I threatened. Sirius pouted. "Honestly, I try to keep you alive and you try to do the opposite!"

Sirius grinned cheekily. "I love making your life hard."

"Git," I said, whacking him on the arm.

"It's good to be back at Hogwarts," said Regulus, who was floating upside-down.

"You won't be saying that tomorrow morning," said Remus. "When you have to walk to class."

"Don't worry," said Regulus. "I won't be walking."

"You will," I said. "Even if we have to force the shoes onto your feet. I'll stun you."

"He will," added Peter.

Regulus made a face.

"So," said Sirius. "Where can I get the material to make a parachute myself? Or better yet, a place to buy one?"

We all groaned.

"You're really not going to give up on this," I muttered. At least he'd called it the right thing for once. "Alright, Sirius. How about this? If- and only if- you can manage to save the world (or something close to it) and somehow survive, without going looking for danger, I will buy you a parachute and let you jump out of the Astronomy Tower."

"Done!" declared Sirius happily. "But you can't try and stop me if I do run off to save the world."

"Done," I said, holding out a hand, that Sirius shook. Peter snickered, and climbed into his bed to go to sleep. Remus stared at us, mouthing the word 'crazy'. Regulus laughed out loud.

We all started getting into bed. It wasn't until I was lying in bed, lost in my thoughts, that I realized what a stupid deal I'd just made with Sirius.

Knowing our luck, there would be a chance for him to run off and try to save the world. With his luck, he wouldn't survive. Well, on second thought, he actually had pretty good luck: he always did manage to survive. But I've always been there to stop him from doing something crazy.

I turned in my bed anxiously, fear flooding my body. Sirius was bound to do something stupid and crazy; he always did. If I wasn't there... if I couldn't stop him... would he sacrifice himself to save the world? Would he mess up and get himself killed? Or would the incentive of a parachute be enough for him to try to stay alive? I doubted it.

I closed my eyes with a heavy heart. If he died, it would be because of me. I couldn't lose him. I just couldn't. But now I might. And it'd be all my fault.

A/N: Bit depressing. I'm bored out of my mind in math, so... yeah. There you have it. Stupid move on Jamie's part. Foreshadowing... or is it? I don't know (yes, I do)- do you? Nope!
