Urhg, it has taken me forever to update, I am SO sorry! I've felt little inspiration lately, but here's another chapter!
Hope you like it,
XOXO.
Only a couple of minutes had passed since the electrified handshake. At first, Regina had felt quite nervous, which was unlike her, but it only lasted a second. After they had shook hands, Regina had felt like herself again, Robin was confident and smiling at her, giving her a warm fuzzy feeling.
"So," he started, "How is the mayor job? Busy I might guess?"
After Robin had started talking, it had been an easy conversation, Regina had told him about her work, and how surprised she was that she hadn't seen him around before. His response had been "I like the forest", so he wasn't around town much. During the whole time, the atmosphere had been easy and light, no pressure, and Regina was entirely like herself; confident, a little sassy, but also funny. Robin had been much the same, he made her laugh, and she hadn't been laughing like that in a long time.
Suddenly their conversation was interrupted by Granny, "Sorry, we're closing". Both Regina and Robin were utterly surprised, "Oh, sorry Granny, I didn't realize this much time has passed". Robin said with a gentle smile and rose from his spot in the booth, Regina followed his action. They said goodbye to Granny and walked out; it was raining.
"I certainly picked a good day to leave the car." Regina muttered under her breath.
"Oh, we'll manage some rain, can we not?" Robin said to her and smile. He reached out his arm for Regina to take, and she did. They started to walk towards Mifflin Street.
It was surprisingly romantic, walking in the rain, arm in arm. They would talk a little, and then just walk, and it didn't really matter, it was nice anyway. As they reached Regina's driveway, they started slowing their pace, as not to end their unexpected evening. Finally standing at the door, Robin, gentleman as he was, thanked for a nice evening, and turned to leave. Not knowing what was going thru her, Regina grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her and kissed him. At first, she was gentle, but when Robin kissed her back, they both deepened the kiss. When the need for air was too great, they pulled apart. They stayed close to each other, their noses almost touching.
"I hope we can do this again sometime". Robin whispered.
Regina chuckled, "Me too."
They parted, gave each other a quick smile, and then Regina went inside and closed the door. She threw the keys in the bowl in the hallway, but standing still, thinking about what just happened. She had really let her guard down, faster than she'd intended, but somehow, she didn't mind, she had felt safe with Robin from the start.
The next morning, Regina woke up feeling refreshed and with butterflies in the stomach. She smiled thinking about last night. She rose, and smelled food. What? She didn't understand, Henry was at Emma's. Regina quickly pulled on her robe, quietly running down the stairs. She was relieved to see her twin sisters in the kitchen, or more, Grace wearing an apron, and Hope sitting at the kitchen table with a coffee. Regina would never get used the sight of Hope; it was like watching herself in the mirror, it was scary.
"Good morning sunshine!" Hope smirked, Regina rolled her eyes because she knew Hope was doing it to irritate her; it worked.
Grace chuckled, "Good morning", Grace was a little more subtle, to Regina's relief. Grace was making scrambled eggs and toast, coffee was brewing. Having sisters like that wasn't all bad, Regina thought to herself. Shortly after, they all sat down at the table and ate. Well, Regina ate, and her sisters were sipping on their coffee. Regina could see from the corner of her eye that Grace was dying to know how it went last night, but she wasn't about to give it away that easily.
Grace couldn't hold it in any more, "oh, come on Regina, tell us how it went last night!"
Regina didn't answer, Hope did, however, "Oh, let her keep some secret dear sister." She said, head raised, but turned around and winked at Regina, she smirked. It was totally killing Grace.
"Right. If I can't have that, than I will have this." Grace said and help up a USB-stick.
"Here we go…" Hope muttered.
Regina raised an eyebrow, not knowing what was going on. Grace got up and headed towards the living room, Hope motioned for Regina to follow her, and so she did. Now she was standing there, on her own living room, letting her little crazy sister run the show. Grace put the USB-stick in the stereo system, and loud pop-music started playing.
"We're going to dance it out, a new thing we've started doing!" Grace shouted over the loud music. She started dancing, and so did Hope, to Regina's surprise.
"It's actually quite fun." Hope said, and gently slapped Regina's upper arm.
Regina stood there, watching her two year younger sisters, "You are children".
Her sisters didn't react, just kept on moving, or rather jumping, to the current song playing, Lady Gaga – Donatella. Hope singing along, or talking along with the first lyric of the song:
"I am so fab
Check out,
I'm blonde,
I'm skinny,
I'm rich,
and I'm a little bit of a bitch"
The action made Regina burst into laughter, and making her join her sisters in the dancing. It felt strangely good to just go crazy and letting go. The song ended and the trio stood there, laughing at each other, they were even a little out of breath.
"That actually was fun." Regina said smiling. Both of her sisters smiled as a response. They were all startled by a phone ringing, Regina ran and answered it, it was Rosie.
"Hi, Regina!" she beamed over the phone.
"Hello dear." Regina responded.
"Can we do something today, us sisters I mean. Hope and Grace are at your house right?" She babbled quickly.
Regina chuckled, "Of course sweetie, just come right over."
Rosie was so excited that she said a quick goodbye and hung up.
"Our youngest sister?" Hope asked.
Regina nodded and told them she was coming over. Her sisters smiled and started cleaning up the kitchen. Regina took the opportunity to get dressed. About 30 minutes later, the doorbell rang, and Rosie was standing at the door. Hope opened the door, but Rosie ran straight past her and into Regina's arms.
"So much for being your favorite sister!" Hope yelled after her.
Regina chuckled, and lifted her little sister up, and kissed her cheek. She had developed a close relationship with her youngest sister. It made her so happy that Rosie was so eager to see her and talk to her, always seeing the good in her, and never judging her if she was acting cold.
The sisters spent the rest of the day walking in the park, eating ice-cream, and spending a lot of time laughing. It was so unlike Regina, but she loved it, her sisters, she had gotten accustomed to them being a part of her life, and was starting to appreciate it.
I need some inspiration please! So reviews are appreciated! :D
