Three weeks had passed since the unforgettable night Robin and Regina had shared. They had met regularly, evening dates and early walks in the woods together with little Roland. Now, Regina was sure, she was falling in love with Robin. The thought both delighted her and scared her. Taking in consideration that her previous love-life ended so badly, she was afraid of entering something new. However, Emma had been right those months ago; she should take a chance on love. But now, things were getting more complicated than what she´d bargained for. Staring down at the positive pregnancy test, her heart started beating faster. What was she supposed to do, what was she to say to Robin? And, oh dear Lord, her family? Could she deal with it? Regina had to admit, she liked the thought of having another child, she adored Henry, and loved him with all of her heart, and having another child would never change that.
Taking a short break from all of her own questions, she figured she needed to talk about it with somebody. The only person she could imagine telling was actually Emma. Over the months after returning from Neverland, both she and Emma had realized that being friends was in their own and Henry´s best interest, so now they were. Without thinking anymore about it, she got ready to leave. A little while later she entered the Sheriff´s Station in her usual Mayoral manner; head raised high, and one of her tight dresses and stiletto heals.
Emma noticed Regina entering, and turned her face serious, «Well hello, Madam Mayor.» She chuckled, «Hey Regina.»
«Emma, I need to talk to you about something.» Regina said and sat down in one of the chairs in Emma´s office after closing the door.
Emma gave her a worried look; «Is Henry ok?»
Regina cursed herself for not mentioning him first, «He´s fine dear. It´s something else, rather personal.»
Emma smiled; «I´m all ears.» she said and put down her pen and gave Regina her full attention.
Regina took a deep breath before starting to talk; «I´m pregnant.»
Emma´s eyes widened, «Is it Robin´s?»
«Yes,» Regina paused and rose from her seat and started pacing back and forth, «We only slept together once, and now I´m with child!»
«Well, do I need to tell you the story about the birds and the bees?» Emma chuckled.
Regina shot her a glare, and Emma quickly returned to her serious face, «You´ll be fine. And I think you´re falling in love with Robin; I`ve seen the way you look at him. And besides, you are a great mother.» Emma said and smiled.
As Regina sat down again, she sighed, «I am, falling in love with him. But a child, so soon? He´s going to be shocked, what if he doesn`t want another child? What if I can´t do it?» Regina started rambling.
Emma put a comforting hand on Regina´s knee, «Well, if any of those things happen, then I´m here, we share a son, I could help out. And besides, you have your family now too. But I think Robin will be thrilled, seriously.» Emma smiled.
Regina gave her a smile back, «I really appreciate that, thank you. And for the record, you´re the only one who knows.»
«I feel honored.» Emma smiled, «I won´t tell anyone.»
As she rose, Regina felt calmer than before, «Thank you Emma. I´ll call you.» she said and walked out the door.
