...
On this chilly Saturday morning, Regina was pacing back and forth in her kitchen. She was worried about so many things at the same time. In addition she was slightly ashamed that she had sought comfort in Rhea, but she had to admit to herself, she needed it, so very much. Amongst the things that she worried about was how to tell Henry about the coming child, she was more anxious about telling him than any of her sisters or brother. And then of course, there was the matter of Robin Hood. In the following days after she had broken the news to him, she had suppressed the memory, not wanting to remember the pain.
Regina was disturbed in her thoughts as there was a knock on the door, she sighed and went to open. As she swung the door open in her usual manner, she was surprised to see who was standing at her doorstep; it was Robin. She lowered her head at she looked at him, as much as she wanted the throw the door in his face, she couldn't deny him the right to know about the child. The child was as much Regina's as it was Robin's.
Regina didn't say a thing, she awaited him to speak. «Regina…» he started, «May I speak with you?» He asked as he looked at her tenderly. Regina only nodded in response and stepped aside to let him enter her house. He went to sit down in her study, in the couch where he had been before. Regina didn't sit down next to him, only stood a few feet away with her arms crossed. She didn't want him to see the hurt she was feeling.
«Regina,» Robin started again, «You did not let me respond to the news, you were gone before I even got to say anything!» He exclaimed and gave her a pained look. As before, Regina didn't say anything, but it was true, she hadn't given him much time to respond, mostly because of the fear of what his response would be.
Robin rose now, and walked over to Regina, not too close, as not to frighten her. «If you had given me some time, just a minute, I would have told you this.» he paused, and now took her hands. Regina was looking down, and Robin bent slightly down to meet her eyes, and force her gaze up. «I would have said that is the most wonderful news.» he smiled softly.
Regina felt her heart race, out of excitement, and of relief. She smiled at him hesitantly, «It is?» she whispered.
As a response, Robin put his arms around her waist, lifted her off the floor and swung her around, «A child!» he exclaimed, laughing. Before he put her down, he planted a soft kiss on her lips, and Regina caved utterly, she gave in.
Robin sat her down, and the tips of her toes met the solid floor. A little shy, Regina looked at him, «I'm sorry Robin, for reacting the way I did. I was so afraid of your rejection. Somehow I expected it so much, and I believed it would happen.» Regina sighed.
Robin put a gentle hand under her chin, «It's alright my love.» he paused and smiled widely, «I am here, and I am not going anywhere.» he kissed her again, and as he pulled back, he stayed close, foreheads touching, «I am in love with you.»
Eyes closed, Regina answered, «And I am in love with you.»
«I have to go, I have to get Roland.» Robin smiled, «I will see you later.» Before he left Robin sat down on his knees in front for Regina, and gently lifter up her shirt. Her still flat stomach was exposed to him. Robin gently put both his hands on Regina and kissed a spot right above her bellybutton. He then rose, keeping eye contact with Regina. He then walked passed her and now he was gone. Gone for now.
Regina fell down in the chair behind her, and exhaled sharply. She could breathe again. But she was so relieved that he was back, and although, she had treated him unfairly.
The phone vibrated in her pocket, indicating a new text, it was from Robin, and Regina couldn't help but smile, it read: Say thank you for me to Emma. - Robin, x
Emma? Regina asked herself, what did she had to do with this? The urge to find out succumbed her and she dialed her number. It only ringed twice and Emma answered; «Hey Regina, how are you holding up?»
Regina answered, «I'm fine dear, although I have one question.» She paused, «Robin said to thank you, only I don' know what for? Care to enlighten me?»
There was silence at the other end, «Uhm, you made up?» Emma asked.
«Made up? How did you know about that?» Regina asked.
«Grace told me you had an argument about the baby, so I talked to him.» Emma said simply.
Regina sighed, «You talked to him, I hope, in the literal sense?»
«Promise, I didn't punch him, was close though.» Emma said.
«Emma…» Regina started, «You didn't have to do that, we would have managed on our own.»
«I've got your back now Regina, no worries.» Emma finished and hung up.
Regina sighed again and let her fingers trail her stomach, touching the child that was due to meet her in eight months, oh , how scared she was.
...
Right, here was a very short chapter, just to clear out the argument. Now, however, things get complicated: where should they live, Robin's or Regina's house. How will Henry and Roland react? Anyone have suggestions for names for the baby, either boy or girl? Suggestions of anything else?
