Well, he isn't MIA anymore.
Conner's issues are going to come to light pretty soon.
Yep, thank God for Ethan
And thanks!

P.S. Is that for Mario Gotze?

Kira smiled as she handed a group of students their smoothies before walking over to the counter to take more orders. Ethan was very carefully carrying a tray of drinks over to a table when he was interrupted.

"WAITER!" Cassidy yelled making Ethan look over at her. He lost his footing and fell down, the drinks on the tray spilling everywhere. Conner and Tommy turned to look down at the blue ranger who landed next to their chairs.

Kim, who was also delivering an order, glared at Cassidy and went to give her a proper telling off.

"Clean up on aisle five," the red ranger joked. Kim finished lecturing Cassidy and came over to help Ethan up.

"Since when do you work here?" she asked.

"Hayley's really been short handed since Trent quit," Ethan answered as he got up on his knees. "I'm just trying to help her out."

"I guess kicking our butts has kept Trent real busy these days," Conner said.

Kim and Tommy exchanged looks.

"Yeah no doubt," Ethan agreed as he started picking up the discarded tray and bits of glass.

"I hate to say this but maybe you boys were right," Kim said, sighing and looking down, avoiding Tommy's gaze. "Maybe there is no good left in Trent."

Kira walked past them at that exact moment, almost dropping the tray she was holding. The others noticed her reaction and opened their mouths to apologize but Kira quickly ran back to the counter before they could speak, holding back frustrated tears. Conner seemed to growl and Kim turned to look at Tommy with wide eyes. Something about Conner just didn't seem right these days... she had a bad feeling.

"Alright creep, we're taking you down!" Conner yelled as they reached the monster, who appeared to be several giant peppers joined together with an otter face and claws.

"Oh yeah? Says who?" the monster laughed. "Here's a pepper for you!"

Copyotter threw a pepper at them, but Kira sent it flying back with a swing of her sabre.

"I'm not supposed to have too many spicy foods. Thanks anyway," she told him as the others laughed and applauded her shot.

"Then how about some seafood!" Copyotter then held out a shell. "This is what I call 'shell shocked'!" he began to throw a large collection of them at the rangers.

"Oh my God, these puns!" Kim exclaimed, trying not to laugh. Ethan cut through the shells with his sabre and the fragments fell to the ground.

"You'll pay for that!" Copyotter declared.

"Tricera shield!" Ethan held up his shield.

"That's exactly what I was waiting for!" the monster laughed. The strange light on his arm lit up purple. "Now here's my secret power! Copy... tricera shield!" The rangers were stunned when a replica of Ethan's shield appeared in his hand. "Fire!" he then blasted Ethan and laughed.

"Now it's on!" Kira growled.

"Tyranno staff!"

"Pterano whip!"

"No, that's a bad idea!" Tommy warned but it was too late.

"Copy!"

"He copied our weapons!" Conner groaned.

"That's cheating!" Kira complained.

"What else did you expect?" Kim questioned. Copyotter ran at them and attacked, knocking the pair to the ground.

"He's got our weapons, what else does he want?" Kira demanded furiously.

"Maybe our weapons?" Tommy suggested to Kim.

"Copy!" Copyotter ordered, laughing as he held up his arm again. "Hi, I'm the purple ranger. Aren't I cute?" he mimicked in Kira's voice.

"My voice!" Kira cried out in horror.

"Ohh, that's cold," Ethan teased, the laughter evident in his voice.

"That's enough!" Conner pushed himself to his feet making Copyotter laugh again.

"I agree!" he declared, confusing the rangers. "I have more important things to copy! See ya!" He ran off before they could stop him.

"There he goes!" Conner stated.

"How are we gonna beat this guy?" Ethan asked.

"Uhh, I guess we'll improvise when the time comes," Kim answered.

"We'll just have to be careful with our actions," Tommy concluded.

"We start by finding him," Kira announced, insulted at his mockery of her voice. The others nodded and they ran after him.

Trent moved at a fast pace hitting the monster.

"One of Zeltrax's freaks no doubt," he mused as he jumped away onto some nearby steps. "Maybe you'll be a challenge."

"Ah, just the ranger I was looking for!" the monster claimed, the machine at its core glowing bright purple as Trent's grip tightened on his drago sword. "Copy!" Soon enough a replica of the sword was in Copyotter's grasp. "Sweet!"

"Hey!" Trent bellowed, both shocked and annoyed.

"I'll be taking this. Bye-bye!"

And with that, it was gone in a flash of green before Trent jumped down from his perch.

"What was that about?" he pondered aloud.

After calling on their bikes and riding towards the location Copyotter's signal had finally stopped at, the rangers scoped the area for the powerful monster.

"His signal is coming from right around here," Conner told his friends as they stopped their bikes and climbed off.

"Then where is he?" Kira enquired impatiently.

"Keep focused, he's definitely here," Kim commented.

"Looking for me?" Copyotter's voice came from behind them, making the five jump and spin around. "I was picking peppers!" He proceeded to hurl peppers at the rangers before they could retaliate. They exploded as soon as they hit the ground but luckily, the rangers rolled out of the way to dodge them.

"Careful! Remember, he can copy our weapons!" Ethan reminded them as Copyotter laughed loudly.

"Then how do we fight him?" Kira implored.

"I got it!" Conner spoke up. "We close up the head of the z rex blaster, he makes a copy, then fires it and it explodes!" he told them with a laugh.

"Sneaky, I like it," Ethan commented.

"And what if he realises?" Tommy queried.

"It can't hurt to try..." Kim trailed off.

"Let's do it!" Conner commanded.

"Are you done with your meeting over there?" Copyotter asked in a bored tone.

"Just a minute!" Conner told him as they summoned their z rex blaster and aimed it at him, closing the head.

"Copy!" the monster replicated it as predicted. "Z rex blaster, ready to go!" he aimed it at them, before pausing. "Oh wait, I almost forgot!" he then opened the mouth. Tommy rolled his eyes, knowing this was going to happen, and yanked the closest person next to him - Kira - over to side. The other three cried out, realising a little too late. "Now it's ready, fire!"

Kim, Conner and Ethan were blasted, causing them to fly through the air and land in a lake. Kira and Tommy watched from nearby, wincing in sympathy for their friends.

"Damn, why did I agree to a plan made by Conner? Of all people," Kim muttered while swimming back to dry land.

"So I guess I get to fight the winner," Trent wondered aloud. Kira spotted him and ran over to him, remembering what her friends had said earlier in the day. She had to prove them wrong.

"And why are you here?" the purple ranger spat, her hands on her hips.

"Why do you wanna know?"

"I haven't seen you in days!"

"Oh Kira... You're really cute when you're angry," he taunted.

"How would you know? You can't even see my face!" she retorted, blushing from both embarrassment and anger. Kira raised her fist to punch him but he grabbed it, stopping her. Before she could pull away, something flashed behind Trent.

"Watch out!" Kira heard Tommy yell and Trent frowned, glancing over his shoulder just in time to see a claw reach out and grab him. He cried out and since he was still holding onto Kira's hand, the both of them were yanked through the portal.

"Let me go you freaks!" Kira yelled as she was restrained by several tyrannodrones, demorphed. Trent was restrained in a chair in the middle of the room, the same one that Kim had been strapped to once.

"Traitor," Mesogog snarled at the white ranger as he leaned over him.

"Great. I was just collateral damage in grabbing Trent. Just what I need when there's a battle going on," Kira groaned, still struggling in the grasp of four tyrannodrones.

"Silence girl, or you will go first," Mesogog snarled at her, before turning back to Trent. "As for you, you'll regret double crossing me," Mesogog warned the boy furiously.

"Traitor? What are you talking about?!" Trent cried out in confusion, struggling to break free. Mesogog lowered a device that was pointed straight at him, making Kira's eyes widened.

"You cannot be trusted...and therefore...must be eliminated," Mesogog growled.

"No! You're making a mistake!" Trent pleaded with him, terrified of the laser device.

"Goodbye White Ranger," Mesogog ignored his pleas. He walked over to a computer and hit a button that activated the device.

"No! Leave him alone!" she cried out, struggling even more. "Oh Trent! NO!" Mesogog ignored her too and activated the laser. Trent screamed in pain as he was englufed by a white light and tears spilt down Kira's face as she watched the boy she loved fight for his life. "Just stop it!" she screeched, suddenly remembering something. She had phasing powers. Why was she still standing here with the tyrannodrones?

Kira phased through the tyrannodrones, freeing herself from their grip. She thrashed them until they were defeated but unfortunately, it was all for nothing.

"You will be next, Purple Ranger, so just remain still," Mesogog commanded, slamming her with the laser from his forehead. Kira cried out as immense pain hit her, feeling like her head was being crushed. When it faded, she was slipping in and out of consciousness, barely registering fragments of the ongoing conversation between Trent and Mesogog.

"Dad, don't!" he protested, fear gripping him as he watched a subconscious Kira writhe on the floor. "Please leave her alone! If you hurt her, you hurt me!" Trent blurted out, before shaking his head. What on earth was happening? He honestly thought that this side of him was dead. "It's me, Trent! I'm your son!"

Mesogog ignored him once again, turning away.

"Dad…don't…please…," he begged, his voice weak and strained.

The mutant hissed in frustration as his claws began to pulse bright orange. Before he knew it, he fell over as flashes of green and red light flooded his body. Soon enough, the lights died and Anton Mercer stood up shakily. He instantly ran over to Trent.

"Trent!" he yelled, hastily jerking the laser away, resulting in a series of tiny explosions. The laser reflected off several machines and counters before hitting Trent's white dino gem. "Trent!" The white ranger groaned, his eyes fluttering open slowly. "Son... son! Son, are you alright?"

As Trent's vision cleared, Anton started unbinding the straps confining Trent to the chair.

"I'm…fine," Trent answered with a nod. "I feel like my old self again."

"The explosion," Anton stated in awe as he eyed the bracelet on his son's wrist. "The explosion must have shattered…the evil encoding of the white dino gem."

"Does that mean there's no more white ranger?" Trent asked, almost hopefully.

"As far as I can tell…," Anton began, examining the gem. "The power's still active."

"Great," Trent breathed out hesitantly. "What do I do with it now?"

"Use it," Anton answered. "You are going to use it however you choose."

Suddenly, Anton fell to the ground on his knees, hissing in pain. Trent hopped off the chair, placing a hand on his father's shoulder.

"Dad, what's wrong?"

"You have to get out of here," he stated as the pain increased.

"No, I can help!"

"No!" Anton protested loudly. "I'll find a way to stop this. Until I do, it's time for you to go and use your powers for something good. Take the girl and help the other rangers."

"The other rangers? That's crazy! I can't fight against you!"

"I know you, son, I know you'll do what you have to do," his father told him.

Trent turned around to look at Kira. She was lying there on the ground, looking lifeless. If it weren't for the state of her, Trent would've refused his father's request. It was crazy! Did he have any idea what he was asking him to do? But Kira was more important right now. He quickly composed himself and ran over to her, but not before looking back at his father one last time.

"I won't tell them your secret, Dad," Trent vowed. "I promise."

"Quickly!" Anton ordered, struggling against Mesogog again.

Trent sighed and turned back to Kira, gently lifting her head up.

"Kira? Please, you've gotta be okay," he pleaded quietly, his eyes watering up. Kira groaned, opening her eyes and looking up at him weakly.

"Trent? You're okay!" she exclaimed happily, pulling him into a hug. She then pulled away, taking a good look at his eyes as her own lit up. "And you're good again!"

"What? How do you know?" he implored, surprised at how easily she knew.

"I just do," she replied softly. "It's your eyes."

Trent nodded, quickly looking past her to see Anton's eyes glowing red. Kira was too busy revelling in her happiness to notice where he was looking. He focused on her again, offering her his hand.

"We need to help the others," he told her as they stood up together, his gaze flicking to his father again. This time, Kira did attempt to look back but Trent dragged her out before she could.

"How's the dirt taste?"

Copyotter laughed as he threw Conner into a tree. All five rangers were on the ground, exhausted from the beating that they had taken. Copyotter's laughter ceased when he was struck from behind, making him kiss the ground. The rangers looked up to see Trent leap through the air on his ATV with Kira in tow.

"Kira! Are you okay?" Tommy called out to the purple ranger who hopped off the ATV and ran over to help them up.

"Yep!" she chirped, sounding a lot happier than she had in a long time. Trent climbed off his ATV.

"Looks like you could use a little help," he commented.

Drawing his dagger, Trent launched at Copyotter, slashing him repeatedly before leaping through the air. Copyotter just about managed to copy his weapon in time to block the next attack, pushing Trent back.

"Let's see how you like it!" Copyotter ran at him and hurled Trent into a tree.

"Whose side is he on now?" Conner asked just as Kira attacked Copyotter from behind.

"Don't forget me!" she quipped, tilting her head a little.

"You'll regret that!" Copyotter growled, attacking Kira with Trent's weapon.

"For once, I'm not devastated at being on the receiving end of this weapon," Kira admitted, getting away from the monster and regrouping with the others.

"Is that all you got?" Copyotter taunted, having turned his attention to Trent again.

"Actually no," Trent started, getting back on his feet. "Super dino mode!"

"He's got Super Dino Mode!" Conner cried out in a horrified tone. Trent's suit looked a million times more intimidating and powerful than their own super dino mode. He had swords attached to his wrists!

"And I like it," Trent observed, smirking underneath his helmet.

"Big deal!" Copyotter grumbled. He blasted at the white ranger, causing the whole forest to smoke up. "Bye, now," the monster chuckled, only to gasp when Trent came flying out of the smoke.

"We're not done yet!" Trent shouted, tackling Copyotter and pushing him back several metres into a tree.

"But I thought we were on the same side!" Copyotter cried out.

"Not anymore!" Trent told him.

"Is this another trick?" Conner spat.

"I believe it isn't," Tommy answered.

"Weird," Ethan commented.

"Trent?" Kim said, hopeful.

"Hmm," Michael let out.

They all watched as Trent finished off the monster and walked towards them. Before he even reached them, they were cut off by the sound of black and purple rain pelting down onto the remains of Copyotter. The monster returned in 30-storey form.

"Whoa!" Trent exclaimed.

"Copy this, rangers!" he mocked as he towered over them.

"Brachio!" Doctor McKnight called on their zords.

Conner, Kira and Ethan leapt into them and combined to make their megazord.

"I'm ready for you rangers!" Copyotter declared.

Tommy and Kim turned to look at each other.

"Do you reckon we should?" Kim questioned coyly.

"Sure," Tommy agreed. "I think it would work."

Michael and Trent watched on as the pair of them jumped into their personal zords, the aardonzord and the quetzalzord, both of which combined to form a new pink and green megazord.

"Quetzal-aardonzord!"

"Come on guys, you can do it!" Michael encouraged the rangers from below. "You can take him." Without warning Michael was knocked to the ground by Zeltrax, who had just teleported in silently with the intention to attack. "Huh?" Mike rolled, landing on his back, and glared up at Mesogog's robotic henchman. "You again."

"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," Zeltrax growled, his fingers twitching on the hilt of his sword in anticipation.

He raised the weapon, but the white ranger's drago sword blocked the hit.

"Get back, Zeltrax!" Trent ordered.

"You!" Zeltrax cried angrily at the white ranger before being kicked backwards to the ground.

"What's happening right now?" Michael enquired in confusion as Trent and Zeltrax battled it out. "Okay, now I'm really confused."

Before Trent knew it, Zeltrax was knocked him back with a slash of his sword, making him land at Michael's feet. Michael attacked Zeltrax only to be kicked to the ground. This gave Trent enough time to recover and the white ranger got up before attacking Zeltrax again. After a repeat of the same event, Zeltrax leapt up into the air to kick Michael again when he was cut off by an air kick from Trent.

"You will pay dearly for that, traitor!" Zeltrax threatened, looking up at the two rangers as they stood together before warping away in a flash of green.

"You okay?" Trent asked, turning towards the black ranger.

"What do you want?" Mike asked warily, remembering what happened the last time he and Trent were alone together.

"Power down," Trent spoke, before starting towards his science teacher in his civilian form.

"Whoa, stop right there!" Mike exclaimed thrusting his arms up towards Trent.

"Doctor McKnight, you gotta listen to me…" Trent pleaded and upon seeing the sincere look in the teen's eyes, Mike dropped his stance and listened.

"Kira, what's Trent up to now?" Ethan implored, looking past Conner so that he could see the purple ranger. He was worried about her. What if Trent was playing with her feelings again?

"No good," Conner snapped, scoffing. "As if he'll ever change."

Ethan was shocked at Conner's hostility. Kira scowled at Conner before looking back at Ethan.

"I'll explain later!" she told him. They got back to fighting with Copyotter who threw peppers at them. The peppers exploded as they slammed into the megazord and the rangers cried out as they dealt with the aftermath. He then blasted them again.

"Oh, it's on now!" Ethan growled.

"Ankylozord!" Conner called. The ankylozord replaced Ethan's zord and blocked Copyotter's next attack, bounced it back at him. He screeched and fell backwards. "Double drill attack!" they spun the arms of their megazord and slashed the monster with both.

"Spinozord!" Kim summoned, making the tiny zord combine with her megazord to form an axe.

"Flying combo attack!" Tommy ordered. Their megazord flew into the air and slashed away at the monster, at the same time as the other megazord was using its double drill attack. The axe chopped Copyotter's head off, destroying him.

"Well done guys!" Tommy praised the teen rangers.

"You too!" Conner responded.

"Anyone know why Doctor McKnight wanted us to meet him here?" Ethan asked as he, Conner, Kim and Tommy walked into the lab, the first two looking very confused.

"He said something about a big surprise," Kira shrugged, knowing as much as he did.

"Hey, don't look at me. I might live above the lab but I have no clue," Conner said as they walked inside. They found Trent standing in the middle of the lab.

"Hey guys," he greeted them with a small smile as they froze. Conner and Ethan fell into fighting stances, glaring at the white ranger. Tommy and Kim regarded him warily but didn't overreact as much as the boys. "Hold on."

"Whoa. How'd you get in here?" Conner demanded.

"I let him in," Doctor McKnight told them as he turned around in his seat.

"What?! DAD!" Conner hissed at his father in disgust.

"But he's-"

"On our side now," Michael and another voice spoke in unison. The others turned to look around, seeing Kira leaning against the wall on the far side. "The evil that controlled the gem is gone. He's good now," Kira beamed at the boys but they looked distrustful.

"I believe you," Kim told Trent and Kira.

"So do I," Tommy agreed. Conner and Ethan gave the other two horrified looks. "I'm sure he's good again."

"Yeah right," Ethan scoffed. "Every time we hear that, he burns us! Why should we believe him now?"

"Because he saved my life," Doctor McKnight stated.

"Is that true?" Conner turned to Trent, who nodded.

"Yeah," he confirmed. "I'm in control of the dino gem now. I wanna use it to fight with you," Trent told them.

"I wouldn't have brought him here if I didn't think he was telling the truth. But only you can decide whether or not you trust him," Doctor McKnight told the red and blue rangers standing beside him.

Trent gave them a pleading look. Ethan took pity.

"Well, if Doctor M's down with it, I guess I'm on board too," he relented.

"Yeah, I guess we got no choice, considering I'm kinda tired of fighting you," Conner gave in.

Trent smiled thankfully at them and turned to Kira, who had been very quiet the entire time.

"I know you've accepted me. But believe me, I know I got a lot to make up for," he told the purple ranger as he walked over to her. "I promise that this time, I won't let you down," he told her in a soft voice.

"You already know. I once told you that everyone deserves one last chance," Kira said, resisting the urge to jump on him in front of everyone, no matter how much she wanted to. Trent looked down and smiled at her words. "Isn't there a rule that says newbie rangers have to wash all the zords?"

"Hey, I forgot about that rule!" Ethan caught on, smirking as Conner, Kim and Tommy started laughing. Even Doctor McKnight was joining in.

"The zords? But they're gigantic!" he cried as they all shoved cleaning supplies into his arms.

"Yeah, they are, so you'd better get started," Conner told him, placing a brush on top of the basket. The three grinned as they watched him walk off slowly, looking like he was regretting the decision to join them already.

Kira entered the lab to find Trent still scrubbing away at the zords.

"It's been three hours Trent," Kira informed him, sitting on one of the desks.

"I know," Trent replied, looking down from where he was sitting on top of Kira's pteranozord. "Thanks to you."

"What do you mean?" Kira teased, trying to look innocent.

Trent hopped off the zord. "You know what I mean."

Without warning, he chucked some water on Kira. She gasped as he chuckled at her, her face scrunched up furiously... and adorably. He remembered when he told her she looked cute when she was angry. She really did.

But he couldn't tell her that.

Kira retaliated by dumping a whole bucket of soapy water on Trent. He walked forward to grab her but slipped and landed on his butt. Kira giggled and helped him up.

"Ooh, careful," she warned, as he staggered a little. She tightened her grip on him to keep him upright. "Here." She closed the gap between them, burying her face into his neck. He was a little taken aback and itched to hug her back, to keep her warm. However, he couldn't. "I missed you."

"Kira..." he began softly, steeling himself for the heartbreak.

"Yes?" the purple ranger asked, still unaware of Trent's hesitance to be close to her.

"Please find someone else," he requested gently. Kira stopped snuggling up to him and took a step back, her heart stopping.

"What are you saying?" she implored, hugging herself to warm up. She was suddenly so cold. Physically and emotionally.

"Go and be happy with somebody else," he elaborated, avoiding her gaze.

Mesogog was already hell bent on destroying him. After seeing Kira half-dead at Mesogog's lair, his whole world had turned upside down. It had even been enough to bring out his good side, for the first time, in God knows how long. If Mesogog found out how much Kira meant to him, he'd destroy her. And it'd be his own fault.

"Don't you think I would've already done that, if I could?" Kira retorted in broken voice. "When you were busy trying to kill us for months on end, I could've dated anyone I wanted. But I didn't! Because I-"

"No Kira," Trent interjected before Kira took them past the point of no return. He didn't think he'd be able to hold out if she actually said the words. "You're right. You could have dated anyone you wanted. You still can. There are loads of guys who like you. Loads of guys who can make you happy. You've just gotta get out there and find them. Or maybe one of them can even find you."

"Fine!" she snapped, although she sounded more upset than angry. She headed for the exit, but just before she left, she turned around to look at him. "You promised you wouldn't let me down again. But you have."

Trent watched her stomp off, barely holding himself back from running to her. It was for the best.
