A/N: 10 reviews! Thanks!
sabina21: I never really thought about the bad guys fuelling the fire between the three rangers.
hewhoreaps: Thanks. I very much like my characters going through conflict.
TheTombedSpirit: I have something lined up for Trent and Kira so no, I don't think I'll get her kidnapped. But thanks, I always appreciate suggestions!
Apollo Holmes: Wow, I actually intended to call the evil white ranger Riley since 2013. I had no idea there would actually be a ranger with that name. Well, I suppose Michael's technically a stolen name since there's already Mike Corbett. But that was unintentional too. Oh, I feel like changing their names now...
Evangella Akriti: Will Kim and Tommy's problems ever stop? Sigh. Krent will have their 'screen time' when appropriate so don't worry.
brankel1 & Marie798: Thanks.
M . Gotze: Any more Dino Thunder stories? Not at the moment, no; I have SEVEN other in progress stories left to finish after this one (yikes!)... Anyway, Conner will get over it soon being the player that he is.
Genius892050: I'm glad you're liking it!
Lord of The A.U. FanFiction: Trent would've had to leave Reefside anyway, at the end of Truth and Consequences. I don't see why him kissing Kira makes him like Edward... And besides, leaving to protect everyone - not just Kira - is 100% canon in DINO THUNDER EPISODE 14.
"Sup Hayley?" Ethan called as they walked into the lab. "Where's Doctor M?" he asked, looking around before remembering that the good doctor was invisible now.
"Yeah," Kira agreed before grinning. "Not that we'd be able to see him if he was here."
"Hey guys!" They looked around to see gym equipment moving by itself.
"I'll never get used to that," Kira said, staring at it.
"Hey Dad, no offence, but what's the point of building your biceps if nobody's gonna see them?" Conner asked with a raised eyebrow. There was a loud clang as Dr McKnight stopped.
"That's the reason I called you here," he told them. "Hayley finally found a way to bring me back to normal." A towel floated into the air, moving towards them.
"That's great!" Kira exclaimed, smiling brightly.
"Hold on everybody," Hayley interjected, sounding irritated as she walked past them. "Mike, I told you, I think the re- moleculiser may make you visible again but I haven't found a power source strong enough for it yet." The teens exchanged looks; it seemed like Mike and Hayley had been talking about it a lot.
"I've been thinking about that." A box floated over to Hayley. "Maybe we should use this," Michael suggested. Frowning, Hayley took the box and opened it to reveal the black dino gem.
"No way! Forget it!" Hayley demanded sharply. She turned to Kim and Tommy who were unable to meet her eyes. "Did you two know about this?"
"No...?" Tommy tried sheepishly.
"Yes," Kim replied flatly.
"Okay, fine. He did mention it to us before," Tommy admitted. "I can't say that I don't agree with him."
"And you didn't think to tell me?!" Hayley interrogated. "Unbelievable." She turned round and faced Michael. "And you..."
"I knew you'd react like this," Mike told her. "But we've got to try something. My dino gem is the most powerful source of energy we have."
"Powerful being the operative word!" Hayley growled. "I have no idea how your body will react to it. It's way too risky!" She shook her head frantically.
"Hayley...we don't have a choice," Michael reminded her softly. Hayley sighed, knowing that the black ranger was too stubborn to listen.
"Okay Hayley, I'm ready," Michael announced, lying on a table as the rangers prepared to start the machine. Hayley furiously threw a sheet over him.
"For the record, I still think this is a bad idea," she spoke up for the tenth time.
"And for the record, I agree with Hayley," Kira concurred.
"Yeah, so do I," Kim confessed, turning to the redhead. "I didn't tell you before because I didn't want you to worry, Hayley. I didn't know he'd actually go through with it."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine," Mike reassured the women.
"See you soon, Doctor M... literally I hope," Ethan said, gulping as he and Kira placed the monitor patches on Mike's chest and backed away.
"Okay..." Hayley breathed out, holding the container with the dino gem above the machine.
"Good to go," Mike told her as she glanced over to where he lay. Hayley hesitated before shaking her head and lowering the container into the machine.
"Initiating sequence," Hayley said as she activated it. Michael groaned as his breathing quickened and grew erratic. The machine let out a bang and began to smoke, alarming the rangers. "It's overloading!"
"I knew this was a bad idea..." Kim muttered, unable to look away from Michael who was thrashing wildly. The machine suddenly exploded, making them all jump. Hayley speedily shut the machine off and pulled out the container.
"What's it doing?" Kira asked in a panicked voice.
"The energy attenuator has shut down! He's receiving full current!" Hayley explained as the machine exploded. She quickly turned it off just, backing away just in time before there was another explosion. She then hastily took the container out, discovering that the gem had a crack in it. "His dino gem almost got destroyed..." she stated, staring at it just as Michael became visible once more. "Michael! Michael? Can you hear me?" Conner watched on in horror as there was no response.
Having had no other option, Hayley and the rangers rushed Michael to the hospital. He currently lay in a hospital bed as they helplessly stood around him.
"What's wrong with him, Doctor?" Hayley asked the doctor as he joined them.
"Everything seems to be fine," the doctor replied and everyone breathed a sigh of relief, Hayley being the loudest. "There's a higher chance of him waking up as opposed to not waking up."
"So my dad will be alright?" Conner questioned.
"Yes, hopefully, he'll wake up soon," the doctor answered, smiling at them all.
"Thank you, Doctor Walsh," Tommy thanked, wincing when Kim and Hayley both shot him death glares.
"What about his gem?" Ethan asked Hayley who rolled her eyes.
"I can fix the crack in his gem easily," she grumbled, wrinkling her nose. "I can't say the same for him when he gets it from me!"
Kim bit her lip, trying not to laugh due to the seriousness of the situation. Conner frowned, thinking that Hayley actually would destroy his dad.
"Breaking news!" a reporter announced on TV rather loudly. "The city is under attack by a terrifying creature! Citizens are advised to stay indoors until further notice."
"I'll stay with him," Hayley told the rangers.
"We'll be back as soon as we can," Conner told her before they rushed off to the fight.
Terrorsaurus, who was attacking the city, laughed as he chased away more screaming people before he was blasted at by the lasers on Conner's bike.
"At last!" He laughed, unaffected by the attack. "Just who I wanted to see!" the monster called as Conner shot towards him on his bike. He blasted the red ranger with energy from his horn, making him cry out as his bike flew through the air.
"Tyranno staff!" Conner summoned his weapon and leapt from his bike. He began to fight off Terrorsaurus but was knocked to the ground by more red energy.
"Fire lasers!" Kira, Ethan and Kim flew towards him on their bikes but it didn't do any damage to the monster. He blasted Conner off his feet again and the red ranger crashed straight into Tommy, knocking him from his ATV. They both crashed to the ground as Kira and Ethan attempted to attack the enemy but were attacked by him instead.
"Hey, don't forget about me!" Kim warned, riding up towards him and blasting him with her bike laser. However, it didn't even faze him and he blasted her in return, knocking her off before she rolled along the ground.
"Fire!"
"Trent!" Conner exclaimed, looked up as the White Ranger appeared on his ATV. He blasted Terrorsaurus and forced him back.
"Great, another one!" The monster recovered and blasted him, knocking Trent off his ATV. Trent rolled along the ground and demorphed, his morpher sparking as the others got back to their feet.
"Trent!" Kira cried out as the white ranger clutched his chest in pain. Terrorsaurus laughed loudly and blasted Ethan off his feet. Conner, Kira and Kim charged at him from behind but he spun around in time and floored them too. They demorphed too, their morphers sparking just like Trent's.
"This is too easy!"
"Hovercraft cycle!" Ethan called on his bike and launched into the air.
"Bring it!"
"Thrusters!" he fired at Terrorsaurus, who avoided the attacks and leapt onto his bike. "Hey!" Ethan tried to fight him off but the monster drained his energy, hurling him off his bike.
"Ethan!" The rest of the rangers regrouped around him, helping him to his feet.
"Come on!" Tommy yelled, running at the monster with his quetzalsword. "Quetzal sword!" He slashed across Terrorsaurus' chest who just grabbed him his morpher, wrenching his wrist painfully, before tossing him into the rubble where he demorphed. "Agh!"
"Tommy!" Kim shouted, running to him and pulling him up. The pair of them joined the teens, standing in formation with them.
"This guy has worked my last nerve!" Conner snarled. "Ready!"
"Ready!"
"White ranger!"
"Dino Thunder, power up! Hah!"
"Wait what?" Kim said, groaning as she realised she wasn't morphed yet.
"What's going on?" Conner asked as they pressed their morphers again.
"That thing fried our morphing energy!" Ethan commented.
"Not so tough now, are you?" Terrorsaurus mocked and ran off.
"Who's the one running away!?" Tommy taunted after him as he got away.
"Hey, guys!" Cassidy called as she and Devin ran up to the rangers. "Oh my goodness, what happened to you guys?" She looked them up and down, noting that they were covered in bruises and dirt.
"Things are kinda fuzzy but I'd say a giant mutant attack," Kira summed up.
"Didn't the Power Rangers come and help you out?" Cassidy implored.
"No...I guess they...couldn't make it," Trent offered weakly.
"Yeah, no power rangers anywhere near here," Conner shrugged as the others nodded.
"That's weird... they normally show up when anyone needs them," Devin commented, frowning.
"Well, you know what it's like, sometimes there's more than one monster attack at a time," Kim stated. "Maybe there was a more powerful monster somewhere else and they couldn't get to this one."
Cassidy and Devin nodded, accepting the pretty reasonable explanation.
The rangers returned to the hospital, knowing that there wasn't much else that they could do for both Michael and the rest of the city.
"He should be waking up by now," Hayley mumbled, looking like she'd been crying while they were away. "I hope nothing's wrong..." The guilt was eating away at her and she almost felt like strangling the man, when he did wake up, for making her carry out such a dangerous procedure.
"Dad's pretty tough, Hayley," Conner spoke up with a reassuring smile. "He gave me a C minus on my term paper." The others smiled, exchanging amused looks.
"I think he was being generous," Kira quipped, grinning when Trent and Ethan smirked at her.
"Yeah, I mean-" Tommy started, about to join in with the teasing when his morpher began to spark uncontrollably.
"Tommy!" Kim shrieked, walking towards him and holding him up. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know," Tommy said before becoming unconscious. Trent ran over to help Kim hold him up and Kira left to find the doctor.
"Both of our rangers at the same time?" Ethan questioned, looking at his friends. "What's happening?"
"What's wrong with him, Doctor?" Kim asked the doctor who studied his clipboard before sighing.
"I have no idea, Miss Hart," the doctor confessed, shaking his head. "His vitals are stable, like Doctor McKnight's, but his brain patterns are wildly erratic."
"Can you get him out of it?" Kira inquired.
"We're trying... but he's not responding to anything," the doctor answered, looking down in concern at the unconscious green ranger.
"He's gonna be okay... right?" Ethan implored anxiously and the doctor sighed.
"I'm not going to lie to you," he told them gravely. "The longer he stays like this, the more at risk he is." A stunned silence ensued as the rangers stood in the room, in between two beds, each containing one of their own.
"Thanks, Doctor Walsh," Kira managed to say.
"Your friends - both of them - will continue to get the best care possible," Doctor Walsh informed, smiling weakly before he walked away.
